”My father, mother, and nine-year-old daughter were killed.” – While the world’s eyes turn to Lebanon, Israel continues its brutal attack on Gaza strip. It is bombing and shelling across the besieged Strip while people shelter in crowded and ever-shrinking “safe zones.”
For 11 months, Israel’s attacks have destroyed and depleted health care, sanitation, and infrastructure across Gaza. This has silently increased the death toll of Palestinians further. The world’s leaders remain unwilling to stop the killing and starvation of Palestinians.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 41,272 people and injured over 95,551 since October 7, 2023. Israel has repeatedly targeted hospitals, schools, and displaced people in tents. What is considered a shocking crime for the rest of the world has now become a normal routine in Gaza. Mainstream media remain complicit as they fail to cover or condemn such atrocities.

Happy Birthday to the Brazilian Marxist educator and philosopher Paulo Freire! He was known for his influential book Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1970), which theorized how oppressed people could be empowered by revolutionary education.
His innovative teaching methods emphasized active student participation and encouraged critical questioning of the teacher. As a result, his students were able to achieve literacy after only 30 hours of lessons.
Freire believed that socialism and Marxism provided a framework for understanding and challenging systems of oppression. He argued that education could be a tool for social change, and teachers should work to create a more equal society.
Despite facing repression and censorship from right-wing forces in Brazil and worldwide, Freire’s work inspires educators and activists. At the same time, his vision remains as relevant today as ever in the struggle for social justice.

Violent clashes amongst supporters of Bolivia’s Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) party broke out yesterday. Rival marches loyal to Evo Morales and Luis Arce respectively faced off, shooting fireworks and slinging rocks at each other.
This comes on the first day of a six-day long march led by Evo Morales from the rural town of Caracollo towards La Paz, the seat of government. He is calling for the resignation of President Arce. The march is expected to conclude on Monday.
The government says that Morales is attempting to conduct a coup against Arce and install himself as president. The entire factional fight between the two sides is centered on whether Arce or Morales will get to be the official candidate of the MAS party in 2025.
Arce supporters held a counter protest a few hours away from the march’s starting point. Despite this, the government ordered their retreat so as not to escalate the violent confrontations. Morales was able to march through the area and will continue today.

Israel is shifting its security and military weight from the Gaza Strip to the northern front as a full scale war with Hezbollah becomes closer than ever. Israel has withdrawn the 98th division from Gaza and redeployed it to northern occupied Palestine to join the 36th division stationed there.

A faction within Bolivia’s Indigenous movement has begun a siege on the capital La Paz to call for President Luis Arce’s resignation. In response, Arce has claimed that Evo Morales is a launching a coup against the government.
A faction within the “Red Ponchos” Indigenous Federation representing the rural communities of the La Paz region is leading the campaign. They have launched roadblocks to paralyze all highways connected to the city of La Paz. They are calling for Luis Arce’s resignation over what they see as his failure to deal with inflation and fuel shortages.
Tomorrow, Evo Morales himself will be leading a separate mobilization, a national, seven-day-long march from the town of Caracollo to the city of La Paz. He is also calling for Arce’s resignation as part of the internal faction fight within the MAS party.

A brutal attack occurred allegedly by German right-wing extremists in the city of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony state. Video footage online showed an attack where several people were seen kicking the head of a person lying on the ground before attempting to flee the scene. The attackers were likely part of the right-wing extremist counter protest marching against a Pride Parade. The extremist group marched in the city earlier under police protection, similar to previous right-wing marches which were guarded by German police.
Germany has been accelerating its shift to the right. In the recent state elections, the far-right AfD party alone won a third of the votes in two eastern German states. Meanwhile the current ruling parties are also shifting their policies to more anti-migration and anti-Islam positions. Recently, Germany has also imposed more restrictions on borders while carrying out more deportations, including to Afghanistan.

A new agreement between the UK and the Lebanese Ministry of Defense is sparking outrage. The agreement would give British forces access to Lebanon that has not been seen since colonial rule ended in the country. The proposed agreement allows British forces to move openly with their weapons, enter without a visa, and gives them immunity when it comes to legal prosecution.

Hillary Clinton has called for the imprisonment of Americans who spread so-called “Russian propaganda” in an MSNBC interview. But as we’ve seen with Blinken’s attacks on red. media, any outlet and any person who voices opposition to the policies of the US capitalist class is now being deemed a Russian agent. Watch communist revolutionary Fidel Castro tell a crowd in Harlem, New York in 1995 about the tens of millions of people who have been cared for by Cuban doctors. Castro also goes on to mention the hundreds of thousands of lives saved by doctors from the socialist island as well as the Cuban teachers and professors performing international solidarity work and training.
Castro received a rapturous reception in the predominantly Black area not only because of his strong anti-racist and anti-imperialist credentials but also the success of the Cuban Revolution. Following a speech at the United Nations General Assembly Castro wasn't welcome at a reception held by then US President Bill Clinton at the New York Public Library.
Instead, he returned to Harlem, an area he had previously visited in 1960 when he visited the UN for the first time as Cuban leader. Back then he was invited to stay at the Theresa Hotel by Malcolm X leading to a historic meeting between the two anti-racist leaders.

Israel has carried out a second attack across Lebanon, this time detonating various other types wireless devices in addition to pagers. Explosions were heard across the Lebanese capital Beirut as smoke rose from different apartments. Ambulances rushed to the streets to transport wounded people to hospitals which are already packed from yesterday’s attack.
At least nine people were killed in today’s attack while over 300 people were injured. Many have called the detonation of explosives within electronic devices a new form of state terrorism. The devices have been exploding in public spaces and houses as Israel indiscriminately targets fighters and civilians alike.

Today, we remember the Greek anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas, better known by his stage name “Killah P.” He was murdered 11 years ago today by members of the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn while police passively looked on.
Following Fyssas’s murder, massive protests forced the Greek judiciary to launch a case against the Golden Dawn party, the third largest party in parliament during the January 2015 election. In 2020, 68 defendants were subsequently convicted of running a criminal organization after a five-year trial. Roupakias was also finally convicted for Fyssas’s murder, receiving a life sentence.
Outside the courthouse for his murder trial, 20,000 people gathered to hear the verdict. The case was the largest trial of a Nazi organization since the Nuremberg trials of Nazi officials in 1945-46.

Here are the latest updates on Israel’s pager attack in Lebanon:
🟡 Israel has carried out one of its largest acts of state terrorism by detonating pagers across Lebanon, occurring everywhere from public spaces to private homes
🟡 The death toll from the attack has now reached at least 13 people, including a woman and two children. Over 2,800 people have been injured, 200 of whom are in critical condition
🟡 The operation targeted Hezbollah members and civilians by detonating pager devices used by the group in Lebanon and Syria
🟡 Israeli media said that the operation was carried out by detonating 20 grams of PETN explosive material by heating the pagers’ batteries
🟡 Taiwan police raided the headquarters of Gold Apollo, from whom Hezbollah purchased the pagers
🟡 The company denied that the devices were manufactured by them. They claim the pagers were produced by BAC Consulting KFT, which is based in Budapest and has license to use the Gold Apollo brand to make the pager model in question
🟡 Israeli media said that the operation was carried out earlier than planned after at least two Hezbollah members grew suspicious with the devices

Hundreds of fascists stormed the streets of the German city of Wismar to protest the first-ever Pride Parade in the region. The fascists lightly clashed with Antifa groups who blocked their way. Police estimated 2,100 people took part in the Christopher Street Day (CSD) march.
The neo-Nazi protest was a grotesque display of hate with swastika shirts, Imperial German flags, white power symbols, and fascist chants. The police made just one arrest and had a relatively light presence. This stands in stark contrast to their overwhelming presence during recent Palestine protests. One 30-year-old man swung a metal rod at an officer before being arrested.
Germany’s fascists are sharpening their knives as far-right crimes in the country have hit an all-time high. This has been fueled by a political climate drifting dangerously to the far-right. Nearly 10,000 cases were recorded in the first half of 2024—3,000 more than the same period the year before.
