More than 60 targets across the Gaza Strip have been subject to Israeli attacks over the past day. The number of Palestinians killed as a result of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza now stands at at least 39,145. The estimated number, however, likely exceeds 186,000.
Israeli attacks across the enclave, from north to south, do not seem to stop. In Gaza’s north, residential houses are being increasingly targeted. In the middle area, intensive artillery shelling and strikes continue to target refugee camps, forcing many people to flee even despite the absence of “official” displacement orders.
In the southern Gaza Strip, meanwhile, Israel’s latest ground operation enters its fifth consecutive day. Israeli forces have killed at least 129 Palestinians in those five days alone. The official death toll, however, is likely to increase since Civil Defense teams and paramedics have been unable to reach any of the eastern parts of Khan Younis for more than five days now.

A Hindutva leader called on his followers to kill pro-Palestine protesters in India during a far-right protest. In a viral video, far-right leader Ashok Paliwal urges his followers to “hunt down and kill terrorists” with “passion” while Indian and Israeli flags waving behind him.
The Hindutva racist hatred towards Palestine is linked to rising anti-Muslim sentiment, which has escalated in the lead-up to this year’s elections in India. In 2023, India averaged nearly two anti-Muslim hate speech events per day.
A report by India Hate Lab revealed that 75 percent of these incidents took place in states governed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The research group documented a total of 668 hate speech events in 2023.
Since October 7, Indian far-right groups have been exploiting the Palestinian counter-attack on southern Israel and Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza to fuel anti-Muslim fears and hatred in India.

“We must resist the IMF, World Bank, Britain, and the US”, say protesters in Kenya as mobilizations continue over a month after they first erupted over a neoliberal tax measure that punished the poor.
Protesters have blocked key highways around the country as calls grow for the Prime Minister’s resignation. Though the Finance Bill pushed by the government has been withdrawn, protesters are continuing their mobilizations against the government’s subservience to foreign powers.
At least 50 protesters have been killed by regime forces so far. Kenya’s Prime Minister Ruto has been hailed as a close American ally and was recently in Washington for a state visit to discuss the deployment of Kenyan troops to Haiti to secure US interests.

The Egyptian revolution of July 23, 1952, was the fulfillment of a great hope that the Egyptian people had cherished since the modern era when Egyptians began to struggle for their self-determination and that they must take control of their destiny.
72 years ago today, young military officers who called themselves the “Free Officers” and were seen as a conspiratorial cell seized power in a near-bloodless coup d’état—their goal: the overthrow of the monarchy and the realization of a powerful Arab nationalism.

Thousands of anti-government protesters swarmed the streets of Quezon City against Filipino President Ferdinand Marcos Junior. The mobilization centered on resistance against the looming all-out military escalation between the US and China – a conflict that threatens to entangle the Philippines.
In April 2024, the US and the Philippines held the largest-ever war simulation, with 11,000 US troops and 5,000 Filipino soldiers. Also this year, the US military expanded from five to nine bases in the Philippines.
A newly signed military agreement between Manila and Tokyo has further complicated matters, allowing Japanese soldiers to enter Philippine territory. Both nations cited the escalating conflict with China as justification for this move.
Protesters also highlighted their opposition to increasing Chinese aggression in the South China Sea, where dangerous confrontations between the Chinese Navy and the Philippine Coast Guard have become a regular occurrence.

red. media captured the moments Israeli bombardment targeted a building in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza today. The past week alone, the Israeli military has struck the camp 63 times, killing at least 91 Palestinians and injuring 251 others.
In what the UN described as Gaza’s “deadliest week” since October 7, Nuseirat refugee camp was not spared. The camp, which is one of eight official refugee camps in the enclave, has seen near-daily Israeli attacks. Multiple UNRWA-run schools and residential buildings have been targeted.
Coupled with Israel’s nonstop bombardment and constant displacement orders, scores of Palestinians have sought shelter in the camp. An estimated 250,000 Palestinians are sheltering there at present.

While capitalism fails to stop the climate change-fueled weather extremes, we remember that Marxist theorists warned of the destructive consequences of the ruthless plundering of our planet and the profit-driven mode of production as early as the 19th century.
Flash floods from China to Brazil engulf entire cities. Wildfires devour entire forests in several parts of the world. Record heatwaves prove fatal in many regions. The climate crisis could lead to 14.5 million deaths and $12.5 trillion in economic losses worldwide by 2050, warns the WEF.
The richest 1% account for the same emissions as the poorest 66% of humanity (5 billion people) in recent years, according to a recent OxFam report. “Oxfam undertook an analysis of 125 billionaires and found that, on average, they emitted 3m tonnes of CO2e a year through their investments – over a million times more than the average for someone in the bottom 90% of humanity.”

Standing ovation for genocide – After nine months of genocidal war in the Gaza Strip and probably more than 186,000 Palestinians killed, this is how the US Congress celebrates Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. As Netanyahu reiterates his desire to continue his so-called war “between barbarism and civilization,” he is met with a standing ovation from hundreds of Members of Congress. Just in case you weren’t sure by now, the US is undoubtedly on the side of genocide.

A police officer was seen stomping on a boy’s head while a taser already subdued him in a disturbing viral video from Manchester, UK. In the 40-second clip, the boy, lying on the ground, shows no resistance as the officer repeatedly attacks him.
Greater Manchester Police said their unit had responded to an “altercation” at Manchester Airport. They justified the violence by claiming “there was a clear risk during this assault of their firearms being taken away,” but did not address the excessive force used against the seemingly compliant suspect.
Amar Rafiq, the eyewitness who filmed the incident, told local press, “I was just gobsmacked. The police officer kicked the guy in the face. Everyone was worried about themselves; they started panicking and running away, fearing they would be attacked.”

Project 2025: A new strategy of the far-right? Or just the same old conservative agenda?
Liberals are using fears of this document to scare people into voting Democrat and ignoring their anger over Biden’s total support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. This is an especially cynical move when one remembers that liberals are to blame for this rise of this ultra-conservative agenda.

To the dismay of the EU and its lackeys in the Serbian government, Serbians continue protesting against a lithium mine that would be used to fuel the “green transition” in Europe. In reality, the mine is another way that Europe and the US are trying to compete with China, which currently dominates the critical mineral market.
In 2022, after a mass upsurge, the government announced it was canceling the project. The movement called attention to the mine’s devastating environmental impacts and the government’s subservience to foreign multinationals.
The government has recently reopened the project and is trying to push it through once again. Germany, which is itself home to some of the biggest lithium reserves in Europe, has been a key proponent of the mine in Serbia.
Serbian President Vučić stated that the mine in western Serbia would produce 58,000 tons of lithium annually, which equates to 17% of the lithium needed for European electric vehicle production.

More than 100 Israeli troops have launched a new intense wave of raids across the occupied West Bank, killing at least three Palestinians so far. In addition, since yesterday, at least 25 Palestinians were arrested by the invading forces, bringing the number of Palestinians arrested since October 7 to more than 9,785.
The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli raids since October 7, which have become a near-daily occurrence, now stands at least 513. According to the UN, 203 of those were killed between January and June 6 of this year. That’s 75 additional people killed by Israeli soldiers or settlers as compared to the same period last year.
While Israel claims that its intensifying raids are necessary to eliminate cells of armed groups and to ensure Israeli security, activists and experts believe that Israel is playing up the threat of what it calls “terrorism” to justify the increasing violence.

A historic deal has been signed between Palestine’s two main political parties, Hamas and Fatah, and 12 other Palestinian groups. The deal, signed after three days of talks in China, aims to end decades of national division among Palestine’s many factions and lay the groundwork for Palestinian rule in post-war Gaza. However, whether the deal, dubbed the Beijing Declaration, will succeed in its goals remains to be seen.

A monument celebrating Soviet-Polish unity in defeating Nazi Germany has been torn down in the town of Nowogard in northwestern Poland. This is one of many Soviet-era statues to be torn down in the country ever since the war in Ukraine began, many of them commemorating the victory against fascism during WWII.
The right-wing “Institute of National Remembrance” in Poland, who oversaw the destruction of the Nowogard monument yesterday, says that in 2022 there were over 60 Soviet monuments throughout the country. Since then, almost 40 of them have been destroyed.

SREBRENICA’S LEGACY: WESTERN COMPLICITY IN GENOCIDE
Every July 11, we remember the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of more than 8,000 Bosniaks. However, the West’s role in this atrocity and their ongoing hypocrisy are frequently omitted. The US, UK, and France's betrayal in Srebrenica was used to justify NATO's first aggressive military campaign, paving the way for further geopolitical domination of the region.
This year, more than any, the emptiness of the West’s “condemnation” of the Bosnian genocide was on full display given its current support of Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
In the decades since the wars related to the break-up of Yugoslavia ended, many have asked, perplexed: how could a country where various nations lived in relative peace end in such bloodshed—a country that was formed in the wake of and due to multi-national resistance to the Nazi occupation during World War II? The answer lies at the crossroads of economics and history.

Thousands of Palestinians are being forced to flee eastern Khan Younis as the Israeli military unleashes a total assault on the area. This comes after the latest displacement order affecting more than 400,000 people. In just one day, the Israeli blitz assault has killed at least 81 Palestinians and injured more than 250.
Israel’s latest assault on Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip involving tanks, aircraft, and artillery came just minutes after the Israeli military ordered the displacement of people residing in what it had previously designated a “humanitarian zone.” The new displacement order has now shrunk Gaza’s already overly crowded al-Mawasi “humanitarian zone” by 15%.
Almost 83% of the Gaza Strip is now under displacement orders or designated as “no-go zones” by the Israeli military. Despite the existence of a “humanitarian zone” in al-Mawasi, it is not immune from frequently occurring Israeli attacks.

Police cars crash into and run over protesters during the ongoing extreme political unrest that dominates Bangladesh for the second week. Footage shows police cars striking protesters head-on and in reverse, with deadly consequences.
The horrifyingly violent response of the security forces turned what were originally peaceful protests against the country’s elitist labor market and unemployment into a full-scale uprising. Over 100 protesters are dead, with the real numbers likely obscured by the government’s ongoing total communications blackout.

Deadly student protests in Bangladesh are likely to continue despite the government’s scrapping of most of the government job quotas. The quota reinstatement ignited the anti-government protests that have left more than 100 students dead.
The Supreme Court said that 93% of government jobs will now be based on merit. Student leaders, however, have vowed to carry on with the protests, demanding the release of imprisoned protesters and the resignation of government officials who they say are responsible for the violence.
While there are reports of Dhaka’s streets having returned to a state of relative peace, the government-imposed curfew (extended for an indefinite period) coupled with a complete internet shutdown has led to an information blackout and disruption of day-to-day life. Police are allegedly using the situation to arrest key organizers of the protests.

Nonstop Israeli shelling has been plaguing Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip as Israel orders 400,000 Palestinians to leave eastern Khan Younis. Local sources say that residents were given no time to flee as Israel’s assault began shortly after the leaflets were dropped. At least 27 Palestinians have been killed as a result so far.
Nasser Hospital, the only remaining main hospital providing services to patients in the southern Gaza Strip, is facing severe shortages, which the Palestinian Health Ministry describes as posing “a serious threat to the lives of the sick and injured in light of the ongoing massacres carried out by the occupation forces against the innocent and civilians.”
Just a week earlier, Israeli forces attacked the al-Mawasi “safe zone” in western Khan Younis, forcing people to seek safety in the east. Now, Israel is forcibly displacing them back to the west again.

Naji al-Ali, the renowned Palestinian political cartoonist and creator of the iconic “Handala” character was shot in the neck 37 years ago on July 22 in London. Many believe his assassin was working with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.
Regarding his signature creation, Handala, al-Ali remarked, “This child, as you can see, is neither beautiful, spoiled, nor even well-fed. He is barefoot like many children in refugee camps.” Naji al-Ali is still the most popular artist in the Arab world.
According to his editor, Naji al-Ali received over 100 death threats throughout his career. He was one of the most influential voices on Palestinian issues. Al-Ali’s death marked the end of an era coinciding ironically with the dawn of the First Intifada in occupied Palestine.
