Israeli occupation forces launched a large scale operation, invading Jenin in the occupied West Bank. Drones and apache helicopters hover in the sky while military jeeps and bulldozers destroy streets and shoot at people.
The operation is targeting the resistance in the city, which is mainly concentrated in Jenin Refugee Camp. The camp was under siege by Palestinian security forces for over a month, but they failed to break the resistance. Now, the mission is continuing under the Israeli occupation forces.
As the ceasefire in Gaza continues, Israel is shifting its focus to the West Bank. The Israeli military has deployed more forces across the West Bank and increased restrictions between Palestinian cities and villages. Meanwhile, Palestinian Authority forces stand still, refusing to defend or protect their people.

Anti-colonial freedom fighter Amílcar Cabral was born on this day in 1924. He led the fight to overthrow Portuguese colonialism in Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde, contributing to the end of Portugal’s fascist dictatorship. Cabral went on to become one of Africa’s most influential communist pan-African revolutionaries.
Through helping the anti-Portguese resistance in Angola, he aimed to achieve freedom for all of Portugal’s African colonies.
As a committed pan-Africanist and socialist, he focused on creating a socialist bloc by unifying Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde. As they liberated areas of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde, Cabral and his forces tried to build a socialist economy with central planning and cooperatives.
Just eight months before Guinea-Bissau achieved independence in September 1973, Cabral was assassinated by members of his movement, who it is believed were linked to the Portuguese intelligence services.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) political leader, Khalida Jarar, was freed from Israeli prison. Jarar was under administrative detention and was held in solitary confinement for six months in a suffocating 2 by 1.5 meter cell.
Jarrar is one of the most prominent leaders of PFLP, a Palestinian nationalist and Marxist-Leninist faction designated as a terrorist group by Israel and the US.
In 2006, she was elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council and was appointed to lead the prisoners’ committee. She is credited with playing a leading role in cementing Palestine’s accession to the International Criminal Court in 2015.
Over the past three decades, she has been arrested multiple times, often without charge or trial.

In 1977, Peltier was wrongfully convicted of aiding and abetting the killing of two FBI agents in Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota. The evidence used to convict Peltier was very controversial, and his trial was ripe with irregularities. Many believe his imprisonment is retribution for his leadership in the Native American liberation movement.
