Venezuela’s chavistas hit the streets for the second time this week in a mass march rejecting the violence and coup attempts from right-wing groups who do not recognize the country’s election results.
Venezuela also enjoyed a diplomatic win at the Organization of American States (OAS) after a resolution condemning the government was not passed due to abstentions from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and others. Brazil and Colombia had been critical of President Maduro in the run up to the vote, but are still refusing to join the diplomatic attacks on the country.
Arrests of those who have taken part in pro-coup riots continue apace, with President Maduro confirming that over thousand people have been detained. The coming days will reveal which forces have the streets and power of mass mobilization.

Palestinians took to the streets across the occupied West Bank to protest the assassination of Ismail Hanyeh. He was the political chief of Hamas. Haniyeh was killed in the Iranian capital, Tehran, along with a bodyguard when the building in which he was staying was targeted.
Demonstrations took place in Ramallah, Hebron, Nablus, Tulkarem, and Tubas. Protesters carried Palestinian flags and Hamas green flags while chanting for revenge.

Haniyeh was instrumental in the ongoing ceasefire negotiations, and with his killing, all hope among Gazans for a successful ceasefire agreement has been extinguished. The assassination, which is said to have been carried out by Israel, only proved to many that it has no interest in ending its genocidal war in Gaza.
While Palestinians in Gaza now expect further regional escalation of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza, many refuse to let this development affect their determination even close to 10 months into the war.
“Palestinians will keep resisting, no matter the presence of Haniyeh or any other Palestinian leader. Palestine keeps resisting. We were shocked by this news, but it doesn’t mean the end of the resistance,” a resident in Gaza said.

Pro-coup riots in Venezuela continued throughout the night as organized groups carried out arson attacks on public buildings, hospitals, and food storage warehouses, President Nicolás Maduro confirmed in a press conference.
Many of those arrested for disturbances last night were under the influence of controlled substances and had been paid $150 to join the mobilizations, revealed Maduro.
Police have cleared the affected areas, but continued clashes are expected later today. Chavista groups organized a vigil outside the presidential palace last night to guard against possible attacks.
The violent protests used similar tactics to those used during the “guarimba” riots of 2017. Although last night’s mobilizations were smaller, there was participation from those in working-class districts such as Petare that were once Chavista strongholds.

Destruction is all the Israeli military brings to Gaza as tens of thousands of Palestinians are forced on yet another mass exodus. Israel’s latest displacement orders targeted central Gaza, particularly the Bureij and Nuseirat refugee camps, an area already inundated with displaced people fleeing an Israeli assault in the south.
As a result of the displacement orders and subsequent attacks on the camps, hundreds of thousands of people from north to south have converged on Deir al-Balah, a small city in the center of the enclave. It remains the only major area yet to be stormed, as the Israeli army has been busy launching major operations across the Strip.

Chaos reignited at Bogotá’s National University as hooded protesters threw Molotov cocktails at Colombian riot police, who are notorious for their excessive force. Authorities used water cannons and tear gas to crush the protests, which have been escalating for months.
The ongoing uprisings at the National University escalated in May of this year when Ismael Peña was undemocratically appointed rector of the university. However, the discontent at the university covers a broader spectrum, such as soaring student costs and run-down educational infrastructure.

“The days of your occupation are numbered!” – Mass protests erupted in Gwadar in the Balochistan region of Pakistan, demanding an end to the occupation by Pakistan. The protest was in response to human rights violations and extreme deployment of security forces in the southwestern Pakistani province.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee, which organized the protest, reported a massive police crackdown in response to the event. Over 60 people were arrested. “Human rights violations in Balochistan are at their peak. State institutions are brutally suppressing peaceful voices,” the statement added.
Videos on social media and the BYC also reported the use of Pakistani armed forces firearms and live rounds to quell the protest. At least three people have been killed, and many others were injured.

NOW: Massive crowds of people have gathered in Iran’s capital, Tehran, for the funeral of assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. In Tehran’s city center, thousands of mourners have turned to the streets in a 5km funeral procession through the capital.
Several top Iranian officials attended the ceremony, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who led the funeral prayers at the memorial event, and parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
Haniyeh was in the Iranian capital to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s newly-elected President, Masoud Pezeshkian, when an Israeli missile reportedly struck his accommodation.

In possibly one of the gravest escalations since October 7, Israel is said to have assassinated Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran’s capital, Tehran. His death has been confirmed in separate statements by Hamas and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps today.
The Palestinian resistance movement said Haniyeh was killed in “a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran,” where he had been attending the swearing-in ceremony of the Islamic Republic’s new President, Masoud Pezeshkian.
While the Israeli army refuses to comment on the assassination, Israeli Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu said, “This is the right way to clean the world of this filth. No more imaginary peace/surrender agreements. No more mercy.”
The assassination has since been met with strong condemnation, particularly by Iran, which states that it “will defend its territorial integrity, honour, pride and dignity, and make the terrorist invaders regret their cowardly action.”

BREAKING: A coup attempt is underway in Venezuela as protests from right-wing groups break out seeking to paralyze the cities and overturn the Presidential elections results.
A few hours earlier the electoral court formally declared Nicolás Maduro as the winner, shortly after groups descended on the capital attempting to reach the presidential palace but we're forced back by security forces.
Some groups have reached the international airport of the capital but no signs of a breach thus far.
Opposition supporters are also circulating videos from protests in 2017 and 2019 in an attempt to exaggerate the size of the current mobilizations.
While the US State Department and right-wing governments in the region have questioned the results, international observer reports are yet to publish their findings, with no significant irregularities reported on the day of the vote.

Dozens of Israelis including two politicians have stormed the Sde Teiman torture center to protect soldiers. This comes after an earlier attempt by the military police to arrest nine Israeli soldiers in relation to the torture of Palestinian prisoners from Gaza.
The protesters managed to enter the military base and blocked the entrance in opposition to the arrest attempt. Several Israeli politicians condemned the attempt to prosecute the soldiers and demanded more support and protection for the soldiers.
The torture center has been mentioned in several media and UN reports for its brutal torture and inhumane conditions. Many Palestinians have been tortured to death in Sde Teiman as the soldiers use electric shocks, dogs, and rape against prisoners.

Student-led protests continue in Bangladesh despite an announcement by student leaders (who are being held in police custody) calling for an end to the uprising.
After 11 days of an internet black out and a brutal government crackdown, thousands of protesters remain detained. Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ignored calls to release prisoners and refused to issue an apology for the deaths during the protests.
At least 210 people have been killed by police and more than 2,500 others arrested since the protests started on July 1. In response, the government imposed a nationwide curfew with a “shoot-on-sight” order to halt the student-led rallies.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians are forced to embark on yet another death march as Israel issued renewed displacement orders for southern and central Gaza. Not only has Israel launched several attacks on parts of Khan Younis designated as “safe,” but they have now also issued displacement orders for central Gaza, particularly in Bureij and Nuseirat.
For over a week, Palestinians unable to flee after the Israeli military ordered the evacuation of eastern Khan Younis remained trapped without food, water, or medicine.
Meanwhile, Bureij and Nuseirat are home to some of the most overcrowded refugee camps across the enclave as Palestinians displaced from Gaza’s north and south sought safety in the middle area. Just shortly after issuing the displacement orders, Israel bombed the area.
UNRWA said that 86% of the Gaza Strip is currently subject to Israeli displacement orders.
