Israel Border Police attacked a Jewish anti-Zionist boy in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem. The boy was assaulted after raising a Palestinian flag and confronting Jewish Zionist extremists who marched in the Old City and attacked Palestinian shop owners during the Jewish holiday of Purim. Other confrontations also erupted when Zionist Jews assaulted Palestinian worshippers leaving the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Tensions have been rising in Jerusalem during the holy month of Ramadan, which could lead to a major escalation across Occupied Palestine.

Jordanian security forces used tear gas to disperse demonstrators gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in Amman. The protesters stood in solidarity with Gaza and condemned what they see as Israeli crimes against Palestinians. They urged the Jordanian government to suspend all agreements with Israel, including those related to gas, water, and the Wadi Araba peace treaty. Criticism of the Jordanian government has increased among Jordanians who perceive its relations with Israel as a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

This Women's History Month, listen to this powerful speech by a Mexican mother who's daughter, María del Jesús, was murdered in her own apartment.
In 2016, María was a 19 year-old engineering student in Mexico City's National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). After going out to party with classmates and a teacher, they claimed she "went crazy" and "committed suicide". A criminal investigation later reported that her teacher and classmate forcefully brought to her fifth floor apartment.
They unsuccessfully tried to sexually abuse her and, as she struggled and screamed for help, threw her out of the window. María went into a coma and suffered head and leg fractures. She would die eight days later. Her killers have still not been brought to justice to this day.
Mexico suffers one of the highest rates of femicide (the killing of women and girls because of their gender) globally, exacerbated by textile factories which proliferate because of US policies.

Germany's most wanted: Hunting retired guerrillas rather than hundreds of wanted militant neo-Nazis on the run.
Two of the three Red Army Faction veterans who evaded arrest for over 30 years are still at on the run. The scenes of the chase and public manhunt evoke memories of the tumultuous '70s, especially following the recent arrest of Daniela Klette in Berlin.
Criticism is mounting that the pursuit seems more like a state vendetta, given that for every 674 right-wing extremists with arrest warrants who have gone underground, there are only 20 left-wing extremists in hiding.
But why is the German state apparatus much slower in addressing a much larger problem? Let's delve deeper into this German phenomenon.

On this day in 1931, Indian socialist revolutionary Bhagat Singh and his comrades, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru, were executed by India’s British colonial rulers. During Singh’s short life, he became one of the most influential revolutionaries in India’s independence movement.
Although he respected Mahatma Gandhi’s role in organizing people to resist British rule, he also developed a critique of Gandhi’s methods and vision for a post-independence India. Despite his atheism and Marxism, he’s still revered today by all sections of the country and is referred to as Shaheed-e-Azam (the Great Martyr) in Punjabi.
On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh and his two fellow revolutionaries were hanged. As they marched towards the gallows, they reportedly chanted, “Down with British Imperialism” and “Down with capitalism!”. Their actions and subsequent execution by the colonial regime inspired many and made them revered figures in the Indian struggle for freedom against the British Empire.

Migrants smash through US border fence in El Paso, Texas, but are then arrested by Border Patrol. The incident occurred yesterday and was confirmed by the authorities after videos circulated on social media.
Around 1000 migrants try to cross the border at El Paso daily. Most are from Central America and Haiti, with Venezuelans and Ecuadorians being the largest South American continent. Chinese nationals are also one of the fastest-growing groups at the border, with 37,000 arrested there last year.
The President of Mexico has highlighted the significant role played by US sanctions against nations such as Cuba and Venezuela in propelling large-scale migration in the region. AMLO asserts that addressing these structural issues is imperative to mitigating the migration crisis.

For Women's History Month, we remember Zina Portnova, the 17-year old who poisoned more than 100 Nazi soldiers.
Just two weeks after arriving at her grandma's in Belarus for summer vacation when she was just 15, the Nazis invaded. When her grandma protested about the Nazis stealing her cattle, German soldiers slapped her.
The following year, Zina joined the Young Avengers, the resistance Organization of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League and then in 1943, 17-year-old Zina played a leading role in a sabotage operation. Zina was hired as a cooking assistant in a canteen that supplied a Nazi garrison where she would pour poison into their food. Many of the soldiers fell in and some died.
Later that year she was captured by the Nazis. During her interrogation, she allegedly grabbed her interrogator's pistol from the table and shot him, and then shot two more Nazi guards and escaped. The Nazis soon caught up with her. They tortured her and then executed her by gunshot in 1944.

“The blood of Palestinians is on your hands” – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was protested by Palestinian supporters while he was giving a speech at one of the country’s largest book fairs.
In typical German fashion, other attendees attempted to silence the activists, repeatedly interjecting phrases like ‘stop it’ or ‘stop shouting now.’
The chancellor responded to the activists, ordering them to “stop shouting” in several instances. Scholz’s self-righteous answers were met with widespread applause from the Germans.
The Federal Republic of Germany has arguably been Israel’s most uncritical ally, devoting itself to backing the occupying state no matter what. At the beginning of the war, Berlin pushed through an unparalleled number of arms export permits, ten times as many as the year before, to be used in the war of annihilation against Gaza.

On this day in 1968, Israel suffered its first major military defeat against the Palestinian resistance movement. Just a few hundred Palestinian guerrilla fighters, together with the Jordanian Armed Forces, fended off an Israeli army force attempting to invade the east bank of the Jordan River. The Battle of Karameh not only marks a major symbolic victory for the Palestinian resistance but also serves as a stark reminder that the state of Israel can be forced to recalculate its potentials.

Tens of thousands of people came out on the streets across the Middle East to protest Israel's ongoing onslaught in Gaza. In Jordan, massive crowds breached security checkpoints and surrounded the Israeli Embassy in Amman, demanding their government cut diplomatic ties with Tel Aviv.
Massive rallies also took place in Morocco, Egypt, and Iraq, where demonstrators criticized their governments for failing to support Palestinians and stop Israel’s aggression in Gaza.

On this day in 2015, Saudi Arabia launched its brutal and illegal war on Yemen. The US-backed war has caused the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and at least 377,000 deaths. Nine years on and almost two years since the bombs last rained down on Yemen, the Saudi’s most important backers, the US and UK, are continuing the deed by bombing Yemen in a new wave of aggression against the country.

400,000 people in Argentina protested yesterday to remember the victims of the US-backed military dictatorships of the 70s and 80s. This year, the annual march was much larger as it became an anti-Milei and anti-austerity mobilization.
The protest falls on the anniversary of the 1976 military coup, which ushered in a period known as the "Dirty War" until 1983, in which 30,000 people were disappeared or killed by the state, primarily for their association with workers' unions and leftist parties. The regime was backed by the US as part of their Cold War strategy in Latin America.
The "libertarian" Milei government has been condemned for its apologism of this period. In particular, his Vice President, Victoria Villaruel, denies the figure of 30,000 disappeared and has said that the military period was necessary to defeat communism.
The march was also a mobilization against Milei's austerity plan. Numerous worker strikes in different sectors, including teachers, airline workers, journalists, public sector workers, and transport workers, have marked the past month. The population suffered a record-breaking 254% inflation rate, up from 160% when Milei took office.

Riot police in Colombia faced a barrage of Molotov cocktails during protests at Bogotá's National University. red. Media captured the scene as hooded protesters vented their frustration on the streets outside the campus while police units attempted to disperse the crowd with tear gas and water cannons.
The unrest erupted after an undemocratic election process at the National University when the authorities decided against the candidate favored by the students and instead appointed a widely rejected status quo candidate. The university's crackdown on self-organized public kitchens further fueled the outrage.
Militant protests have been sporadic yet persistent across Colombia, escalating over the past few months.
These protests primarily stem from grievances over skyrocketing tuition fees, deteriorating education systems, and undemocratic practices within educational institutions.

On this day in 1947, US Cold War paranoia reached its pinnacle when President Harry Truman signed Executive Order 9835 to tackle alleged communist infiltration.
Also known as the “Loyalty Order,” it paved the way for 3 million government employees to come under investigation and was the prelude to the anti-communist witch hunts known as McCarthyism.
The order enabled the FBI to research the associations and beliefs of federal employees. If “derogatory information” was found, they could launch investigations using confidential witnesses. Employees could be fired if doubts existed about their loyalty to the US. There was no right of appeal against the decision made by loyalty boards.
300 government employees were dismissed for allegedly being a security risk, while 5,000 offered voluntary resignations following investigations – many taking place during humiliating congressional hearings. No espionage charges were launched.

Jenin resistance fighters exchanged fire with Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces. The tension mounted after PA forces attacked the funeral of three fighters from the Jenin Battalion who were assassinated by an Israeli drone strike earlier. The mourners went to the governor’s office in an attempt to allow an imprisoned fighter to bid farewell to one of his friends. Following the attack, an exchange of fire erupted between the PA forces and resistance fighters from Jenin refugee camp, resulting in 27 injuries, including a critical injury to a man who was shot in the face.
During the last month, Palestinian security forces have been arresting resistance fighters and activists across the West Bank. The forces, seen by many Palestinians as subcontractors of the Israeli occupation, have also confiscated weapons and dismantled explosives that were set to confront Israeli invading forces.

Fascists unleashed an attack with pyrotechnics on attendees of a punk concert in Moscow. Footage captured from the attackers' viewpoint shows Roman candle fireworks being aimed and fired at a group of people on an open street in broad daylight.
Russia has seen a drastic increase in racist violence since early 2023, warns the SOWA Center. According to SOWA, ideologically motivated right-wing violence left 118 people injured and three dead in 2023. In 2022, only 29 victims were recorded.
Russia placed the SOWA center on the so-called list of "foreign agents" in 2016. In 2023, a Moscow court ordered the organization to be dissolved. The center had previously been able to draw on state funding.
A number of neo-Nazi and other far-right organizations operate in Russia, including an offshoot of the Atomwaffen Division network. AWDR was founded by former members of the defunct Russian National Socialist Society responsible for 27 murders.
