Читать полностью…🟡 BREAKING: A new image of imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan has been released—his first in years. The rare photo, showing the 75-year-old, was authorized by the Turkish state ahead of Öcalan’s upcoming message. This development comes as reports suggest Öcalan may initiate a peace process between the Kurdish PKK and the Turkish government.

EU-funded repression and crackdowns combined with the expansion of smuggling networks, often in collusion with authorities, have turned migration routes into war zones.
The EU hails this as a victory, recently rewarding Bulgaria and Romania with Schengen membership in exchange for their roles as border enforcers. But this “success” comes at a brutal cost. Refugees and migrants, forced to flee wars and economic crises fueled by Western policies, face increasing repression, violence, and even death at Europe’s militarized borders.

🟡 HAPPENING NOW: First images of Nael Barghouti, the longest-serving Palestinian political prisoner, being freed after spending 45 years in Israeli jails.
Nael was released in a prisoner exchange in 2011 after serving 34 consecutive years. However, in 2014, he was re-arrested along with 70 other freed prisoners in violation of the agreement. The Israeli government decided to reinstate his original 117-year sentence in military prison.
Today Nael has been forcibly deported to Egypt, along with nearly 100 other Palestinian prisoners released in this batch. The Israeli occupation prevented him from returning to his hometown of Kobar, in occupied Palestine.

Ukraine is now set to agree to the looting of its natural resources. On Friday, President Zelensky will meet Trump in New York to finalize an agreement granting US corporations access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, valued in the trillions.
Washington has funneled military aid to Ukraine, presenting itself as Kyiv’s key ally. But now, as the war drags on, the economic reality is setting in—the US wants returns on its investment, reinforcing a long history of US exploitation of weaker nations. With China dominating rare earth production, the US sees Ukraine’s resources as key to maintaining its global influence.
Meanwhile, at the start, Ukraine was full of optimism, believing Western promises of support and partnership. Now, it finds itself trapped entirely dependent on US support. Rejecting the deal would mean losing US backing, leaving Ukraine to fend for itself in a war it cannot sustain.

Evo Morales has adopted a new party, the “Victory Front”, with which to run for the presidency at this year’s elections in Bolivia. His supporters are now resigning en masse from the ruling Movement Towards Socialism party (MAS) that he’s led for decades.
The years-long faction fight against President Luis Arce, over who gets to be the party’s presidential candidate, was settled by local courts, which ruled in favor of Arce’s supporters, who have now taken over the MAS.

During the night, Israel launched several airstrikes on various sites in southern Syria, targeting Suwayda, Deraa, and the countryside of Damascus, killing at least two people.
The attacks coincided with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s call to demilitarize southern Syria and push out Syrian army forces from Quneitra, Deraa, and Suwayda. The Israeli military stated that these areas “constitute a threat to the citizens of the State of Israel” and vowed to continue its aggression.
Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz emphasized that the airstrikes were part of a “new policy” aimed at "taming" southern Syria. He further declared, “Israel will not allow southern Syria to become southern Lebanon.” The same night, the Israeli army also targeted eastern Lebanon, killing at least two people.
In response to the airstrikes, people in Damascus took to the streets to show solidarity with the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham-led government and to demand it defend itself by directly attacking Tel Aviv.
On this day in 1869, Bolshevik revolutionary Nadezhda Krupskaya, wife of Vladimir Lenin, was born. Coming from a poor but radical family, she quickly became involved in Marxist student societies.
During the nearly 50 years she dedicated to the Communist Party, she played a vital role in organizing the underground conspiratorial network that supported the Bolsheviks and was instrumental in organizing the Soviet education and library systems.
Many historians overlook her tireless efforts and invaluable contributions to the Marxist-Leninist movement and Soviet society, reducing her to the role of Lenin’s wife. Read on to learn more about one of the Soviet Union’s most influential women.

Will Germany lead the EU-US fractioning? Amid a falling out with the Trump administration, Germany’s Chancellor-elect Friedrich Merz is taking unprecedented jabs at the US. He even went as far as likening Washington’s election meddling in Germany to Russia’s purported interference in the country.

“I am a piece of sh*t” — Palestinian Authority (PA) forces released a dehumanizing video showing them humiliating Mahmoud Jabarin during his arrest.
Mahmoud Jabarin, from the Jenin refugee camp, is wanted by the Israeli occupation. Once again, the methods used to arrest and humiliate prisoners closely mirror those of the Israeli army. The PA serves the same objective: to crush the West Bank’s resistance.
This campaign of arrests by the PA comes as Israel continues its military operation “Iron Wall.” It is currently targeting multiple locations across the West Bank and has displaced over 40,000 people, the largest West Bank displacement since 1967.
The PA is trying to prove to both Israel and the US that it can be a reliable ally in Gaza's administration. Meanwhile, Trump recently halted all funding to the PA security forces as part of a broader freeze on foreign aid.

Syrians say they will give their lives to protect their lands from Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed that southern Syria would be “demilitarized” and that they would “not allow HTS forces or the new Syrian army to enter the area south of Damascus.” The statements are seen as a prelude to annexation.
After the collapse of Bashar Al-Assad’s government, Israel swiftly expanded its occupation of Syrian territory to include Mount Hermon. It has since then established military bases and is now asserting it will remain there indefinitely.

Today, 39 years ago, millions of Filipinos took to the streets in a peaceful revolution to end the 20-year-long US-backed dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos.
Marcos ruled the Philippines with an iron fist, using the rise of the Communist Party’s New People’s Army and other militant groups as a pretext to declare martial law, terrorizing the country with counter-insurgency tactics.
Marcos’ attempted election fraud backfired and triggered a mass uprising across the country, known as the People Power Revolution, which eventually forced Marcos to flee the country.
The revolution not only changed the course of Philippine history but also inspired other movements in Asia and beyond.

No ceasefire on the ground. Relentless raids and settler violence are turning the West Bank into a battleground.
Launched on January 21 under the pretext of targeting armed groups, Israel’s “Iron Wall” operation has unleashed a brutal campaign across the occupied West Bank.
The operation has left entire families homeless, with Israeli tanks entering Jenin for the first time since the Second Intifada, and a rising death toll, echoing the horrors seen in Gaza. Far-right settlers, emboldened by the military presence, have targeted homes of recently released prisoners, turning the West Bank into yet another front of Israeli aggression.
Veteran Palestinian journalist Ali Samoudi, who was with Shireen Abu Akleh when she was murdered and was highly active during the Second Intifada, has been documenting the brutal realities unfolding in Jenin. “The situation is a lot more dangerous than during the First and Second Intifada,” Samoudi warns, pointing to the growing number of displaced families and rising deaths.

456 Palestinians were released from Israeli prisons, including 15 medical staff members and patients taken during the Israeli invasion of Kamal Adwan Hospital. Many prisoners arrived in a severely emaciated state, unable to walk due to brutal beatings and torture. They reported severe physical abuse, with beatings focused on the chest that fractured their ribs. One prisoner had an amputated hand and another an amputated foot, both due to untreated health conditions, including diabetes.
Israel keeps delaying the release of dozens of Palestinian hostages, including 24 children. Negotiations for the second phase have not begun, as Israeli violations of the ceasefire continue. In the last 48 hours, Gaza hospitals received 17 bodies and 19 injured Palestinians.

Today marks the start of the 2002 anti-Muslim pogroms in Gujarat, India, which led to the mass murder of almost 2,000 people. This episode of violence was not merely spontaneous or uncontrolled mob action; rather, it was methodically orchestrated and characterized by systematic targeting and violence against the Muslim community. The pogrom and the collaboration between governmental authorities and radical groups continue to serve as one of the foundational elements of violence against Muslims in India today.

At the same time, 620 Palestinian prisoners are being released from Ofer Prison. Among them, 445 are from the Gaza Strip and were taken during the Israeli invasion, including women and children. The group also includes 115 Palestinians serving life or long sentences, with around 48 returning to the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, while nearly 100 will be deported to Egypt.
Today, Hamas announced that it has reached an agreement with mediators for the handover of the 620 Palestinian prisoners who were scheduled to be released by Israel on Saturday.

US President Donald Trump depicted his vision of “Trump’s Gaza” through an AI-generated video on his Truth Social platform.
The video presents a digitally reimagined Gaza Strip, transformed into what Trump calls the “Riviera of the Middle East.” It features AI-generated images of Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and Elon Musk, amidst golden statues and piles of money.
The accompanying soundtrack reinforces the message with lyrics such as: “Donald's coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see. No more tunnels, no more fear. Trump Gaza is finally here.” The video comes as Steve Witkoff, Trump’s Middle East envoy, announced plans to host a summit of real estate developers to discuss Gaza’s future.

Today, in Black History Month, we commemorate Frantz Fanon, the Black Caribbean anti-colonial revolutionary who passed away in 1961. Fanon was a prominent theorist, psychiatrist, and political philosopher who actively participated in armed liberation struggles. During World War II, he volunteered to serve in Europe against the fascists and later supported the Algerian War of Independence against the French colonizers.
Fanon’s influential works, including “Black Skin, White Masks” and “The Wretched of the Earth,” provide critical insights into racism, colonialism, and the dynamics of anti-colonial struggle. His ideas have inspired decolonization movements and revolutionaries worldwide.
Fanon’s work continues to shape discussions on imperialism, oppression, and the ongoing struggles for liberation and justice.

Iran has put its defense systems on high alert around its nuclear and missile sites due to growing concerns over a potential joint Israeli-US attack.
This escalation follows a US intelligence report warning that Israel may launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities within the first half of 2025, which will prompt US involvement. Iran has bolstered its defenses by deploying additional air defense system launchers around critical nuclear and missile sites. General Hajizadeh, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force, also announced the development of a new ballistic missile defense system designed to counter a potential Israeli strike.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that any attack by Israel or the US on Iran’s nuclear facilities would plunge the region into an “all-out war.” Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, openly attacked Iran, stating that Israel is willing to “finish the job.”
🟡 NEW: Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated that the new government in Syria consists of a “terrorist group from Idlib that seized Damascus by force.”
This declaration comes as Israel continues to occupy Syrian territory, having established at least nine military bases. On Sunday, Netanyahu called for the demilitarization of southern Syria, demanding the withdrawal of the new Syrian army’s forces from Quneitra, Daraa, and Suweyda.
Aaron Bushnell self-immolated on this day one year ago to call attention to the genocide in Palestine. A member of the US Air Force, Bushnell dressed in his military fatigues to self-immolate in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC. After pouring a flammable liquid on himself, he repeated “Free Palestine” until he couldn’t speak anymore. He died shortly after.
On February 25, 2024, the morning of his self-immolation, Bushnell posted on Facebook: “Many of us like to ask ourselves, ‘What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?’ The answer is you’re doing it. Right now.”
US leaders were silent on Bushnell’s extreme act of protest, and some media outlets labeled him as “mentally ill.” Bushnell’s sacrifice and courage have been honored by people from Yemen to Palestine, where there is now a street named after him in Jericho.

Mexico will ban any unauthorized intelligence gathering from foreign countries in a new constitutional reform. US agents, from the DEA, to the CIA, have long had a large presence in Mexico, and much of their work is under the veil of secrecy.
The move comes as a response to the Trump administration’s designation of cartels as terrorist organizations, which many fear is a prelude to a military attack. US intelligence gathering that claims to surveil cartels could be a cover for other interventionist projects.
