Tens of thousands of Jordanians flooded the streets of Amman as they protested Israel’s ever-escalating war of extermination against Gaza. For the fifth consecutive day, protesters took to besieging the Israeli embassy in Amman. Messages of solidarity with the Palestinians and the resistance roared throughout the city.

Despite continued repression and arrests by the Jordanian security forces, overwhelmed, they struggle to contain the massive wave of protests that has taken Jordan by surprise.

The protesters called out the Jordanian government, demanding an end to the diplomatic normalization with Israel in protest of its actions in Gaza and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem amid the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Tensions between Kurds and Turks in Belgium have escalated. Kurds hurled Molotov cocktails at the office of the far-right Turkish nationalists organization, the Grey Wolves, in the city of Liège, setting it on fire. The attack came after Turkish nationalist mobs attacked Kurds celebrating the Kurdish New Year’s celebration “Newroz” over the weekend, resulting in at least six serious injuries.

More clashes and confrontations have occurred across Belgium, with photos seemingly showing Turkish nationalists armed with firearms having captured Kurds. Meanwhile, hundreds gathered outside the EU parliament in Brussels to protest the escalation in anti-Kurdish violence.

The Grey Wolves are often regarded as the militant wing of the far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) in Turkey. The organization is estimated to have tens of thousands of active members across Europe alone, making it one of the largest right-wing extremist groups in countries with significant Turkish migrant populations.

Haiti's US-imposed "Presidential Council" is facing its first set backs as continued violence against unelected rule continues in the capital.

Unpopular figures on this transitional council have provoked anger, for example, René Jean Jumeau announced his withdrawal yesterday as an observer member due to his involvement in corruption scandals during the right-wing Martelly government.

This "Presidential Council" was set up after the US Secretary of State announced that the US had withdrawn its support for Ariel Henry's puppet government, thus forcing his resignation.

While the US continues to threaten another foreign intervention, the long destruction of Haiti's institutions - a result of previous interventions - continues to stoke the flames of violence, which has seen 33,000 people displaced in Port-au-Prince just in the last two weeks.

Food is becoming hard to access due to violence blocking distribution, thus pushing inflation even higher. Schools and other public services have been mostly closed for the past month.

On this day in 2015, Saudi Arabia launched its brutal and illegal war on Yemen. The US-backed war has caused the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and at least 377,000 deaths. Nine years on and almost two years since the bombs last rained down on Yemen, the Saudi’s most important backers, the US and UK, are continuing the deed by bombing Yemen in a new wave of aggression against the country.

400,000 people in Argentina protested yesterday to remember the victims of the US-backed military dictatorships of the 70s and 80s. This year, the annual march was much larger as it became an anti-Milei and anti-austerity mobilization.

The protest falls on the anniversary of the 1976 military coup, which ushered in a period known as the "Dirty War" until 1983, in which 30,000 people were disappeared or killed by the state, primarily for their association with workers' unions and leftist parties. The regime was backed by the US as part of their Cold War strategy in Latin America.

The "libertarian" Milei government has been condemned for its apologism of this period. In particular, his Vice President, Victoria Villaruel, denies the figure of 30,000 disappeared and has said that the military period was necessary to defeat communism.

The march was also a mobilization against Milei's austerity plan. Numerous worker strikes in different sectors, including teachers, airline workers, journalists, public sector workers, and transport workers, have marked the past month. The population suffered a record-breaking 254% inflation rate, up from 160% when Milei took office.

Tense confrontations occurred in the Greek city of Larissa as communists protested a US military concert. As they sought to prevent the concert, police responded violently, firing tear gas shells at the protesters.

The municipal theater was set to host the West Point Glee Club, a notorious musical ensemble from the US Military Academy currently touring Greece. A smaller number of protesters were able to enter the building. However, it remains unclear whether the concert proceeded as planned.

The protest was organized by members of the Greek Communist Party, who, in recent months, have increasingly protested the presence of US troops in Greece, opposing the use of the country as a staging ground for US military operations in Ukraine and the Red Sea. Just last week, thousands took to the streets of Athens to protest the Mediterranean country’s deployment of a warship in assistance of US aggression in the Red Sea.

This Women's History Month, we remember Louise Michel, one of the leaders of the Paris Commune of 1871 who fought on the barricades to establish a socialist revolutionary government in France.

Michel, a teacher by trade, famously wrote in her memoirs: “the role of schoolteachers...is to give people the intellectual means to rebel.”

During the Paris Commune, Michel helped create ambulance stations, rallied the masses with her great speeches and fought as part of the 61st batallion of Montmartre.

After the Commune was crushed Michel handed herself in in exchange for her mother's release. During her trial she demanded to be executed by firing squad like her comrades who were massacred on the barricades. But the court was wary of making her a martyr and she was instead deported to a penal colony in New Caledonia, where as a fervent anarchist she continued her activism.

“It is my solemn duty to report on the worst of what humanity is capable of.” Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian territories, has submitted a report recommending an immediate arms embargo on Israel.

Albanese's report presents how Israel has violated three of the five acts listed under the UN Genocide Convention, including: Killing members of a specific group, causing serious bodily or mental harm, and deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole and in part.

The report calls on UN member states to: “Immediately implement an arms embargo on Israel, as it appears to have failed to comply with the binding measures ordered by the ICJ.

Jordanian security forces used tear gas to disperse demonstrators gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in Amman. The protesters stood in solidarity with Gaza and condemned what they see as Israeli crimes against Palestinians. They urged the Jordanian government to suspend all agreements with Israel, including those related to gas, water, and the Wadi Araba peace treaty. Criticism of the Jordanian government has increased among Jordanians who perceive its relations with Israel as a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

This Women's History Month, listen to this powerful speech by a Mexican mother who's daughter, María del Jesús, was murdered in her own apartment.

In 2016, María was a 19 year-old engineering student in Mexico City's National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). After going out to party with classmates and a teacher, they claimed she "went crazy" and "committed suicide". A criminal investigation later reported that her teacher and classmate forcefully brought to her fifth floor apartment.

They unsuccessfully tried to sexually abuse her and, as she struggled and screamed for help, threw her out of the window. María went into a coma and suffered head and leg fractures. She would die eight days later. Her killers have still not been brought to justice to this day.

Mexico suffers one of the highest rates of femicide (the killing of women and girls because of their gender) globally, exacerbated by textile factories which proliferate because of US policies.

Germany's most wanted: Hunting retired guerrillas rather than hundreds of wanted militant neo-Nazis on the run.

Two of the three Red Army Faction veterans who evaded arrest for over 30 years are still at on the run. The scenes of the chase and public manhunt evoke memories of the tumultuous '70s, especially following the recent arrest of Daniela Klette in Berlin.

Criticism is mounting that the pursuit seems more like a state vendetta, given that for every 674 right-wing extremists with arrest warrants who have gone underground, there are only 20 left-wing extremists in hiding.

But why is the German state apparatus much slower in addressing a much larger problem? Let's delve deeper into this German phenomenon.

On this day in 1931, Indian socialist revolutionary Bhagat Singh and his comrades, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru, were executed by India’s British colonial rulers. During Singh’s short life, he became one of the most influential revolutionaries in India’s independence movement.

Although he respected Mahatma Gandhi’s role in organizing people to resist British rule, he also developed a critique of Gandhi’s methods and vision for a post-independence India. Despite his atheism and Marxism, he’s still revered today by all sections of the country and is referred to as Shaheed-e-Azam (the Great Martyr) in Punjabi.

On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh and his two fellow revolutionaries were hanged. As they marched towards the gallows, they reportedly chanted, “Down with British Imperialism” and “Down with capitalism!”. Their actions and subsequent execution by the colonial regime inspired many and made them revered figures in the Indian struggle for freedom against the British Empire.
