Poland saw its most heated farmers’ protest yet as violent clashes with police erupted outside the country’s parliament in the capital, Warsaw.

About 30,000 farmers threatened to bring Poland to a standstill as they demanded a halt to cheap imports and environmental regulations that they said would harm their livelihoods. As the farmers marched towards parliament, police responded with batons, pepper spray, tear gas, and stun grenades, with protesters hurling rocks and firecrackers at them.

After leaving Warsaw empty-handed, as their request to meet with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was turned down, Poland’s farmers’ unions warned of further measures such as the “blockade of the entire country.”

"All the Arab countries kneel to Israel, but we did not kneel to them,” expressed a Palestinian woman, reflecting her anger at the complicity and lack of action from Arab nations in supporting Gaza. “We entered to defend Jerusalem and end the suffering that is happening to us,” she added.

Israel has intentionally starved the Palestinian people in Gaza since October 8, preventing food, water, and medical supplies from entering the enclave. At least 18 children have died from starvation in the last days, while many others are in critical condition, being treated at barely functioning hospitals.

Watch feminist philosopher Judith Butler insist October 7th be understood as an "uprising...against a violent state apparatus". Butler added: "you can be for or against armed resistance, you can be for or against Hamas but let us at least call it armed resistance and then we can have a debate about whether we think it's right."

Butler, who is most known for pioneering the theory of gender performativity, has also in the past called for the left to engage with Hamas and Hezbollah despite her own staunch advocacy of non-violent struggle. During Israel's unsuccessful 2006 war on Lebanon, she argued that both resistance groups should be understood as "part of a global left", emphasizing that this does not mean the left cannot be "critical" of those movements or "from raising the question of whether there are other options besides violence."

Italian soccer fans from SS Lazio Roma made the Hitler salute and sang fascist songs at the infamous Munich Beer Hall, where Hitler first launched the Nazi party in 1920.

Those chanting happened ahead of their UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich. German police have confirmed the arrest of one fan for performing a Nazi salute.

Lazio fans were left disappointed later that day after being knocked out of the competition in a humiliating manner, but their fascist chanting is what made headlines. The club has a long connection to Mussolini, who personally supported the club and built its current stadium with state funds during his dictatorship.

Even among the players, this tradition has been kept alive, with figures such as club legend Paolo Di Canio, who performed a fascist salute on the pitch in 2005 and afterward stated, “I’m a fascist, not a racist.” In 2021, Lazio then gave a playing contract to Romano Mussolini, great-grandson of the dictator and son of Alessandra Mussolini, the far-right MEP who worked to keep her grandfather's legacy alive.

The fan base is also steeped in fascism. Their arch-rivals are AS Roma, a club whose traditional ultras are associated with the left; Lazio's infamous banner unfurled when playing them reads, “Auschwitz is your town, the ovens are your houses.”

Heavily armed gangs launched an assault on Haiti's main international airport, engaging in a fierce firefight with police and soldiers in the latest attack on government infrastructure. The insurgents also targeted the country's two largest prisons in a coordinated effort to free gang members, resulting in thousands of jailbreaks.

A coalition of armed groups claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it aimed to prevent Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry from returning from his trip abroad to Kenya.

In many cases, the heavily armed gangs are outgunning Haiti's police, who often do not even have essential equipment. Approximately 80% of Port-au-Prince is now under gang control, and last year alone, 5,000 lives were lost to gang-related violence.

In Nairobi, Haitian PM Henry and Kenyan President William Ruto formalized an agreement authorizing an imminent UN-backed multinational intervention. Previously, Kenya's high court ruled the mission as unconstitutional.

Karenni resistance groups in Myanmar are close to securing the entirety of Kayah State as a result of launching Operation 1111 back in November. Since then, the resistance has made significant gains, with local forces claiming they have managed to take over all junta-controlled towns, bases, and outposts, with the exception of the Regional Military Command in the state’s capital, Loikaw.

Footage shows fighters of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) engaging in ground combat with government troops while aerial attacks are ravaging the state. The KNDF is the most significant force in Operation 1111, launched by an alliance of several Karenni resistance groups. Despite Kayah State being Myanmar’s geographically smallest state since its founding following the 2021 military coup, the KNDF has emerged as one of the country’s strongest resistance groups.

Clashes broke out between protesters and police on the Mediterranean island of Corsica, France. Protesters hurled Molotov cocktails and flares at police blocking streets in an attempt to repel the protest with water cannons and tear gas.

The protesters took to the streets to mark the second anniversary of the killing of Corsican independence leader and former member of the National Liberation Front of Corsica (FLNC) Yvan Colonna in prison. Multiple prisoner solidarity organizations and several independence and anti-government activists attended the protest.

The clashes came just a little over a month after the FLNC reiterated their goal of a sovereign Corsican nation-state. Since the murder of Yvan Colonna in 2022 and the mass protests that ensued, the island has been experiencing a political upheaval, with FLNC groups announcing the return of armed struggle with dozens of non-lethal bomb attacks across the island.

Watch African revolutionary Thomas Sankara's sharp criticism of imperialism and the culture it spreads to make us 'go along with all its maneuvers.'

Thomas Sankara was a communist revolutionary leader who became President of Burkina Faso in 1983. His revolutionary ideology drew inspiration from Marxism-Leninism, pan-Africanism, women’s liberation, and anti-imperialism.

Sankara was assassinated in 1987 in a coup that several critics have alleged was backed by France. France colonized Burkina Faso until 1960, and upon coming to power, Sankara’s government took several steps to reduce France’s ongoing neo-colonial control of the country.

One of Sankara’s first moves was to rename the country from Upper Volta to Burkina Faso, meaning “land of the upright people.”

“The US flag is drenched with our blood.” - We start this year, Women’s History Month, with these strong words by Black US women’s rights community organizer and civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer. In this interview from South Carolina in 1968, Hamer argues that the US flag “is drenched with our blood,” also adding that the US was built on the “backs of Black people” in a damning indictment of slavery.

Born in Montgomery County, Hamer was the last of 20 children and worked picking cotton with her family from the age of six. She became interested in the civil rights movement in the 1950s and became actively involved after being denied the right to vote in 1962.

Hamer encouraged thousands of Black US citizens to register to vote in Mississippi. Due to this, she was extorted, threatened, and shot at by white racists and the police.

Haiti could slide into civil war and even genocide if Prime Minister Ariel Henry returns to the country, warns leader of the G9 gang Jimmy Chérizier. Henry has been in Kenya negotiating a deal to bring Kenyan police to Haiti as part of yet another US-backed intervention.

Henry is set to return to the country but is now holed up in Puerto Rico under FBI supervision, unable to return due to the extreme violence that caused his government to declare a state of emergency and curfew earlier this week.

The US has been pushing for yet another foreign intervention in Haiti to shore up its puppet government led by Henry. The US Embassy has told its citizens in the country to leave immediately.

With burning barricades in front of the parliament building in Jakarta, protesters have been calling for the impeachment of outgoing President Joko Widodo, accusing him of widespread electoral fraud in the recent presidential election, which resulted in the likely victory of far-right, anti-communist Prabowo Subianto.

Led by students, the protesters criticize an 'undermining of democracy' sparked by journalistic investigations that exposed bias for front-runner Subianto by the police, regional authorities, and others. The presidential office has denied political meddling.

Subianto was a former military general who played a leading role in the genocidal invasion of East Timor. He was also the son-in-law of the dictator Suharto, who carried out the anti-communist genocide of 1965.

Currently still the Defense Minister, Prabowo Subianto has already declared himself the winner. Polls show his supporters are mainly young voters who did not witness the genocide.

Workers' unions in Argentina are mobilizing again for the first time in weeks and taking to the streets. Teachers went on strike at a national level yesterday to demand a pay rise in line with inflation, and journalists at the national broadcaster TELAM protested as President Milei announced the closure of the entire outlet, resulting in over 750 job losses.

The two mobilizations marked the beginning of several sectoral struggles, which unions say is the start of a move towards a general strike against Milei's 'shock therapy' austerity plans in the coming weeks. The metalworkers' union has proposed a set of rolling general strikes, starting with a one-day stoppage, escalating to a 3-day strike across all unions.

Argentina's economy is sliding further into unprecedented levels of crisis as annual inflation hit 254%, the highest anywhere in the world.

Milei's policy of removing all price and exchange rate controls and cutting subsidies has led to massive devaluation and price hikes.

Happy birthday to the pioneer of Germany’s revolutionary struggle, Rosa Luxemburg! On her 153rd birthday, and as part of Women’s History Month, we celebrate Luxemburg’s revolutionary socialist legacy, which, more than a century later, remains as important as ever.

During World War I, Luxemburg became one of the most vocal opponents of the war. She argued it was the result of a conflict between capitalist powers who were willing to sacrifice the lives of millions of working-class people to achieve global dominance. She believed that the communist revolution was the only solution to stop the endless cycle of wars motivated by imperialist interests.

Once more, global powers engage in conflicts for dominance, highlighted by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Europe witnesses a troubling rise in fascism. Learning from the past, we recall Luxemburg as one of history’s most important anti-war and anti-fascist revolutionaries.

Today marks the 59th anniversary of one of the most extensive bombing campaigns in world history: the US' Operation Rolling Thunder in Vietnam. Throughout three and a half years, this operation involved the dropping of over a million tonnes of munitions and resulted in the deaths of at least 182,000 Vietnamese civilians.

The primary objective of the operation was to sever support to the communist People's Army of North Vietnam from guerillas in the south. Civilians suspected of involvement in "military or quasi-military" activities were targeted as part of this campaign.

Throughout the entirety of the US war on Vietnam, up to three million Vietnamese people lost their lives, and over 7.5 million tons of bombs were dropped by US planes. Despite the unparalleled brutality of Washington's war tactics, Vietnam's communist resistance successfully overcame the might of the US military.

"None of them survived. The Zionist occupation has deprived me of them." Listen to this heartbreaking testimony of a 12-year-old girl in Gaza who lost her entire family in an Israeli airstrike. This reality resonates with many children in Gaza, where injured youngsters often grapple not only with physical wounds but also with the catastrophic loss of their whole families.

Gaza has become one of the most deadly places in the world for children. According to UNICEF, at least 17,000 children are now unaccompanied or have lost their immediate relatives since the onset of the war on October 7th.

Even before Israel's attacks began, approximately 500,000 children in Gaza were already in dire need of mental health and psychosocial support. Today, the UN estimates that this number has doubled, with more than one million children in Gaza requiring urgent assistance and psychological support.
