We interviewed Palestine Action co-founder Hudda Ammori on their mission to shut down Israel's war machine. Their work and actions have resonated globally, leading other groups to join their movement in shutting down Israeli weapons factories and companies collaborating with the occupation.
Ammori tells us how their movement started and has grown throughout the years. Regardless of state repression and criticism, their achievements speak for themselves. Palestine Action started in the UK, targeting Elbit Systems, one of the leading Israeli weapons companies producing drones and weapons used to kill Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip.

Staff members at US universities voice their support for students who have been persecuted by their campus administration, which has called in local police to violently break up occupations and protests in support of Gaza.
Yesterday, mass arrests took place nationwide, with over 100 detained at USC in California, another 100 at Emerson College in Boston, and dozens on many other campuses.
The number of student occupations has also increased, with UCLA, Ohio State, Northwestern University, George Washington University, and Georgetown all joining the wave of encampments being erected to protest against Israel's genocide in Palestine.
Similar protests have spread to Europe with students at Sciences Po and Sorbonne University. In Greece, students have also taken to the streets for Gaza.

“There is no excuse for the slaughter of 15,000 children and untold others.” — A Holocaust survivor joined the pro-Palestinian encampment at George Washington University in Washington DC.
The 88-year-old woman likened her experiences during the Holocaust to what Gazan children are going through right now, including the loss of her family, war, fire, and bombing.
Protesters set up the encampment at the DC campus yesterday. So far, student protesters at around 20 universities across the US set up encampments on campus in solidarity with Palestine.

The protesters are not only demanding the university immediately divest from Israel but also from Atlanta's infamous Cop City, one of the largest militarized police training centers in the country.

For the 50th anniversary of Portugal’s Carnation Revolution, red. media interviewed survivors of António de Oliveira Salazar’s fascist dictatorship. Álvaro Pato was born in the underground as his father, Octávio, was a communist leader and famous member of the anti-fascist resistance, which Álvaro would grow up to join. We spoke with Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandela, also known as Mandla Mandela, who has joined the Gaza Freedom Flotilla in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Meet Nadia, one of the courageous participants on the Freedom Flotilla, set to sail from Istanbul to break the Israeli siege on Gaza. red. Media sat down with the Canadian-Egyptian journalist who shared her motivations for documenting the stories of the ship’s mission.
The Freedom Flotilla represents a growing international movement driven by activists to challenge Israel’s ongoing blockade that has isolated Gaza. Eyes worldwide are focused on Istanbul, the ship’s departure point.
At least three ships, one large cargo ship, and two passenger ships will sail in April. Hundreds of international human rights observers and 5,500 tons of humanitarian aid are on board.
The FFC is acting “in defiance of the International Court of Justice,” which on March 28 demanded that Israeli forces “no longer take any action to prevent the delivery of urgently needed humanitarian aid.”

Hundreds of bodies have been uncovered so far following the discovery of a mass grave inside the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. The discovery comes just a couple of weeks after Israeli forces withdrew from the hospital on April 7.
Those retrieved from the mass grave include women, children, patients, and medical staff, with Ravina Shamdasani, a spokeswoman with the UN’s human rights office, saying that some of the bodies found at the Khan Younis hospital were “found with their hands tied and stripped of their clothes.”
A similar mass grave with over 300 bodies uncovered so far has been found at Al-Shifa Hospital, the enclave’s largest health facility, which endured a two-week Israeli siege before it ended on April 1.
The mass graves at Gaza’s two largest medical facilities are just two among several discovered since Israel launched its war of extermination on the besieged coastal enclave on October 7, killing more than 34,000 Palestinians so far.

The brutal eviction of the non-violent activists comes as police have banned the two-week-long camp with no legal basis. Italian communists led the anti-fascist resistance that overthrew Mussolini and helped end WW2. Today, Italy celebrates “Liberation Day” to commemorate the resistance’s victory.
We should remember that the most significant armed resistance group was the “Garibaldi Brigades,” led by the Communist Party of Italy. Liberals and social democrats were also part of the resistance but played a much smaller role.
However, the Communist Party did not always support a strategy of armed struggle against Mussolini, despite being urged by Lenin and Gramsci to do so.

The largest anti-government protests yet since the Milei-takeover shook the streets of Argentina's capital. Some sources report millions of protesters nationwide standing in defense of public education against ultra-libertarian President Javier Milei's damaging neoliberal shock therapy reforms.
Students and university professors were joined by the country's powerful trade unions and opposition political parties. Argentina's education system is considered one of the best in Latin America. The public universities are free of charge, with some 2.2 million people studying at the state-run institutions.
Far-right President Milei campaigned on a promise to cut public spending aggressively and continues to defend his hardline approach. He is pursuing a fanatically pro-western policy, with plans to dollarize the country and even seek NATO membership.
In his first 100 days in office, the country's infection and poverty rates soared. Nearly 60% of Argentinians live in poverty, a 20-year high.

Happy 70th birthday to the Black revolutionary, journalist, and former Black Panther Party member Mumia Abu-Jamal, described as “perhaps the world’s best-known death-row inmate.”
He received a death sentence in the US 42 years ago. After spending three decades on death row, a global solidarity movement successfully persuaded US authorities to commute his sentence to life imprisonment in 2011.
Mumia honed his skills as a revolutionary journalist while a member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Black Panther Party. Renowned for viewing journalism as a potent political tool for developing a mass movement, he wrote extensively against capitalism, war, racism, and poverty.
His trial was marred by numerous controversies, including allegations of witnesses being blackmailed and the presentation of questionable evidence.
One report concluded that “the proceedings used to convict and sentence Abu-Jamal to death violated minimum international standards that govern fair trial procedures.”
