🟡 The death toll from Israel’s relentless war on Gaza has reached at least 20,031, including 8,176 children, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, whose team in Gaza has made an updated count of the victims, including those among the rubble, given the lack of chances for survivors.
🟡 Despite the truce agreement, the World Food Programme (WFP) reported that around 2.2 million Gazans, nearly the entire population of the Gaza Strip, require food assistance.
🟡 For the first time since October 7, several humanitarian aid trucks arrived in northern Gaza. While about 200 aid trucks are expected to enter Gaza during the four-day truce, Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) spokesperson Nebal Farsakh says that this constitutes only a “drop in the ocean” compared to the daily 500 trucks that used to enter before the war.

The first ceasefire after seven weeks of relentless bombardment has been met with relief by Palestinians. However, this happiness is accompanied by feelings of grief and uncertainty about the future, as Israel has repeatedly vowed to continue its war once the four-day ceasefire is over.

🟡 The death toll from Israel’s relentless war on Gaza has reached at least 14,854, with at least two-thirds being children and women. Israel’s war on the enclave has disrupted communications to the extent that it is impossible to provide accurate and up-to-date numbers in relation to the death toll.
🟡 Just hours after the ceasefire agreement came into effect, Israeli occupation forces opened fire on several displaced Gazans attempting to return to their homes in the north, resulting in several deaths and injuries. Israeli forces also dropped leaflets, warning that movement from the south to the north “will not be allowed in any way,” even though the ceasefire is meant to include a “guarantee of freedom of movement for Palestinians.” According to local reports, the ceasefire is holding.
🟡 Intense cross-border attacks have been ongoing between Israel and Lebanon’s H, as the resistance group has targeted Israeli troops along the border with occupied Palestine overnight, with Israel also bombing multiple sites in southern Lebanon and Damascus, Syria.
🟡 “Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world for children,” said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell after returning from a visit to Gaza. Children in Gaza, who comprise half of the population, face catastrophic living conditions.
🟡 While there is a pause in fighting in Gaza, Israeli occupation forces have continued their raids across the occupied West Bank, killing at least one Palestinian and arresting dozens. Since October 7, Israeli forces have killed at least 231 Palestinians in the West Bank and detained at least 3,145.
🟡 With the first prisoner exchange underway, Ghazi Hamad, a member of Hamas' political bureau, says that the group is open to negotiating the release of more civilian captives in Gaza, including men, as they are looking for a comprehensive exchange to release the over 7,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention centers.

🟡 EXCLUSIVE: red. Media reporters in Gaza captured the moment 111 Palestinians killed by Israel were laid to rest in a mass grave in the city of Khan Yunis. The bodies were released by the Israeli army and belonged to Palestinians who lost their lives in Gaza City and the northern areas of Gaza.
The Palestinian side received the bodies at a location near the Gaza Valley, where Israeli forces are stationed, on Tuesday evening after being transferred from an Israeli shipping container. According to Israeli forces, the 111 bodies were from the Shifa area (in Gaza City) and the Beit Hanoun area in the northern part of the strip.

The Israel Defense Force's war crimes are all over social media, but did you know that the IDF’s terrorist history goes back decades? On November 25, 1940, the Zionist paramilitary organization known as Haganah, meaning “defense” in Hebrew, bombed a British ocean liner bound for the island of Mauritius, killing 267 people, including more than 200 Jews.
Haganah is the most significant paramilitary precursor to the IDF and committed countless massacres, such as the bombing of civilian targets and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians during the Nakba. In Israel, they are celebrated for their “heroic acts.” Although outwardly claiming they oppose similar right-wing groups, today’s IDF and Jewish settler paramilitaries are merely the continuation of the Haganah’s horrific acts.

Today we remember the revolutionary Mirabal sisters, also known as Las Mariposas, who fought against the deadly dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo in the Dominican Republic which led to the deaths of thousands.
The eldest sister, Patria, was a mother of three and a political activist who once said, “We cannot allow our children to grow up in this corrupt and tyrannical regime. We have to fight against it, and I am willing to give up everything, even my life if necessary.”
Minerva, the sister who was the most vocal about the dictatorship, was arrested several times for fighting against the Trujillo regime and had her license to practice law revoked by Trujillo after reportedly rejecting his sexual advances.
The youngest sister, María Teresa, was greatly inspired by her older sisters’ activism and joined the resistance. "Perhaps what we have most near is death, but that idea does not frighten me. We shall continue to fight for that which is just."
The sisters were violently assassinated by Trujillo’s henchmen on November 25, 1960, and soon became “symbols of both popular and feminist resistance." November 25 has since been designated the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Far-right mobs have been trashing Dublin, Ireland, in riots unseen in decades, setting fire to multiple buildings and public transport; 34 people have been arrested, 13 shops have been looted and 11 police vehicles destroyed by the right-wing mobs. They took advantage of a stabbing incident which left three children and a teacher injured to justify their rampage. In the suburb of Finglas a building used for refugees was burnt out and there were fears that the far-right were attempting to find guns to shoot foreign nationals. The riots follow an increasing number of anti-immigrant protests across Ireland over the past year including attacks on foreign nationals and setting fire to a makeshift camp housing asylum seekers.

🟡 Israeli forces have arrested the director of al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip, along with several other senior doctors and medical staff. The spokesperson of Gaza’s Health Ministry, Ashraf al-Qudra, said that Israel and the UN bear responsibility for the arrest of medical personnel, adding that Israeli forces dealt violently with medical staff and patients.

🟡 The thousands of people who were sheltering in the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza City have reportedly evacuated after the Israeli army gave a four-hour deadline for everyone inside to get out. “The Indonesian Hospital is now empty, and our volunteers have been moved to a school near the European Hospital in Rafah,” said Sarbini Abdul Murad, head of the Indonesian Medical Emergency Rescue Committee.

A total of 75 African and Caribbean countries joined a “united front” in the fight for reparations from ex-colonial forces during a summit meeting in Ghana this week.
Opening the conference, Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, said, “No amount of money can restore the damage caused by the transatlantic slave trade and its consequences. But surely, this is a matter that the world must confront and can no longer ignore.”
Caricom’s 10-point plan for reparations justice calls for debt relief and reparations by the former colonial powers. Studies have estimated that the UK owes the Caribbean islands £18.8 trillion in compensation for centuries of exploitation.

Palestinian resistance groups negotiated a four-day truce with Israel's wartime government brokered by Egypt and Qatar. The agreement is paving the way for prisoner exchanges from both sides and much-needed humanitarian aid for Gaza. The terms of the agreement are the following:
🟡 A ceasefire on both sides of all military actions by occupation forces in all areas of the Gaza Strip, including the movement of its military vehicles penetrating the Gaza Strip.
🟡 The entry of hundreds of trucks of humanitarian, relief, medical, and fuel aid into all areas of the Gaza Strip.
🟡 The release of 50 Israeli women and children under the age of 19 in exchange for the release of 150 Palestinian women and children under the age of 19 years from Israeli prisons.
🟡 No Israeli air traffic in the south for four days.
🟡 No Israeli air traffic in the north for 6 hours daily, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
🟡 During the ceasefire period, the Israelis should not attack or arrest any Palestinian across the Gaza Strip.
