South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol has warned of a “Hamas-like” invasion from North Korea, using the unprecedented Hamas attack on October 7 as a pretext to fuel the militarization of South Korea and the expansion of US imperialism in the region.
Ever since Yoon came to power last year, he has been pursuing a confrontational militaristic policy toward North Korea. It comes as no surprise that Yoon is drawing ridiculous parallels between Hamas and North Korea to dispense with any inter-Korean dialogue and reinforce South Korea’s role as one of the most important bastions of US imperialism in East Asia.

“All of them will die” – said Dr. Hatam Dahar, of the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, during an interview with red. media, referring to the premature babies in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Gaza’s power crisis caused by Israel’s genocidal aggression against the enclave has already forced more than half of Gaza’s 35 hospitals to close and is now severely impacting hospitals in southern Gaza. Premature babies at Nasser Hospital are facing imminent death, as the incubators holding the babies run on electricity provided by the hospital’s solar panels, which Israel has been deliberately targeting during missile strikes.
Israel has already cut off the al-Shifa Hospital’s electricity in northern Gaza, leading to the transfer of its premature babies and the deaths of at least six, with several more in hospitals in other parts of the Gaza Strip.

On this day in 1970, the Uruguayan communist urban guerrilla organization, the Tupamaros, pulled off the possibly biggest heist at the time, confiscating an estimated $6 million in jewels and $48,000 in cash, equivalent to almost $50 million today.
The Tupamaros, officially known as the National Liberation Movement (MLN), led a decade-long armed struggle within a highly urbanized society in Uruguay. The basic principle which guided the MLN was “revolutionary action in itself, that is, the process of arming and preparing oneself, acquiring equipment and finally carrying out actions that violate bourgeois legality, generates revolutionary consciousness, organization, and conditions.”
What was so unique about the Tupamaros, separating them from all other Uruguayan leftist organizations? Read on to find out.

#Caturday. Seen in London at today's #CeasefireNow demonstration
Читать полностью…On the anniversary of the death of Yasser Arafat, the former chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), we remember his infamous gun and olive branch speech. Arafat’s speech to the General Assembly on November 13, 1974, was a key point in the organization’s fight for Palestinian independence and self-determination.
As part of their colonial occupation, Israel has been cutting down olive trees due to their association with Palestinian culture, replacing them with imported pine trees, and thus transforming the olive branch into a symbol of Palestinian resistance. Through the metaphor of an olive branch in one hand and a freedom fighter’s gun in the other, Arafat warned of the dangers of Zionism and its plan to eradicate Palestinian culture, identity, and history.
The speech also marked a shift in the organization’s policy concerning the struggle against the state of Israel, with Arafat gradually considering a diplomatic approach, leading to him signing the Oslo Accords in 1993, effectively making “peace” with the Israeli occupation. The Oslo Accords have long been in tatters because of decades of Israeli violations of the agreement. In the 30 years since the signing of the Oslo Accords, the number of illegal settlements has at least tripled, and the Jewish settler population in the occupied West Bank has more than quadrupled.
Today, the Palestinian masses largely reject Oslo, with resistance against the occupation intensifying, culminating in the offensive of October 7.

◾️ The Israeli occupation forces conducted another raid on al-Shifa Hospital. They destroyed the specialist surgery building and blew up a warehouse containing medicine and medical equipment. Some 200 Palestinians sheltering at the hospital have been blindfolded, interrogated, and taken away: their fate is unknown as it is increasingly difficult to contact the hundreds of people trapped inside the hospital.
◾️ Only one of the 24 hospitals with in-patient capacity is still operational in northern Gaza, the UN has warned. Israel has targeted various locations across Gaza City in dawn strikes and casualties have been reported.
◾️ Violent Israeli raids across the occupied West Bank continue, with at least 85 Palestinians detained overnight. As a result, there is fighting between the Israeli security forces and Palestinian resistance groups in various locations.
◾️ Three people were killed by security forces following a shootout near Jerusalem, according to the Israeli police. Seven people were also wounded.
◾️ The UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors throughout the Gaza Strip,” with the US, UK, and Russia abstaining. The resolution does not mention the word “ceasefire.” Meanwhile, Israel has rejected the Security Council’s legally binding decision.
◾️ Some 150 Jewish Voice for Peace activists rallied at the Democratic Party’s national committee headquarters in Washington DC calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. Police violently assaulted the peaceful protesters, claiming they were “illegally and violently protesting.”

Did you know that with every bomb dropped on Gaza, Turkey makes a profit? Turkey’s steel industry plays a significant role in the global market, particularly in its trade relations with Israel. Whenever there is a war involving Israel, such as Israel’s current war on Gaza, most of the steel used in Israeli munitions comes from Turkey.
The trade dynamics between the two countries have evolved significantly since 2002, when the Justice and Development Party (AKP) came to power. Over the last two decades, Turkish steel has been key for Israel. For Turkey, the steel sector has seen rapid growth in exports to Israel, emphasizing its strategic value.
So, while Turkey’s steel industry continues to profit from Israel’s genocide in Gaza, with nearly 11,000 killed since October 7th, what does Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's claim to stand with the Palestinian people really mean?

◾ The situation in Gaza's largest hospital, Al Shifa, is "unimaginable". The hospital in Gaza City is totally besieged by Israeli forces. The 20,000 people inside have no access to food, water or electricity, while those who try to leave are killed by Israeli forces.
◾20 out of 30 hospitals in Gaza are now completely out of service due to the Israeli onslaught, while four are under siege. Due to the sieges, the hospitals are unable to provide the exact numbers of dead and wounded to the Ministry of Health for the first time since October 7.
