When I write an essay with students, it usually goes in the form of a dictation. Instead of writing on the board and making them copy, I dictate and they write down. The purpose behind this is to make them fully understand the essay. Since they are writing it, not just watching the teacher write, they feel it and understand better. However, for a teacher it is not easy to make up an essay on the go, but what you wouldn’t do for your students, right?

Here is an essay written in this method.

Some argue that rewarding students is the best way to motivate them, while others believe punishment is more effective. Discuss both perspectives and state your own opinion.

People have varying views regarding the best ways to motivate students; some say that rewarding is the best technique, whereas others tend towards punishing, yet I believe it is not a one fits all case.

To begin with the benefit of rewarding, it helps to set a standard. Students who receive an award or a praise for their outstanding performance will try to correspond further on. Over time, the student will not settle for anything below their level and will do their best to keep up with the expectations. As a result, the reward, once given to the student, would raise the bar and put the student into a rat race, but in the positive sense of this expression.

However, punishment can also have its own advantage, especially when there is a rush for the result. It is no secret that fear is the source of action; when a person is scared, they are more likely to act in order to avoid punishment. So, using this psychological tool, it can be quite easy to incentivize students for studies. No wonder virtually all educators used this method to push their students to buckle down to their studies back in the day.

Coming to my perspective, I am confident that flexibility is the key. Mentors ought to come forefront in this matter. As a teacher or parent, this person has to feel what the student needs at a particular time. Based on intuition, they can choose a specific way. Nevertheless, they have to be careful not to overshoot; too much reward can spoil, while too much punishment can break the student. Therefore, it is essential to adjust the method in accordance with the situation.

In conclusion, although both methods can motivate students to study, it is crucial for the instructor to spot the delicate balance between the two not to harm the learner.

Actually, I feel really cringe teaching something online, but recently I started reading books. This made me think like why not to inspire others to read too? So, here I tried to record myself reading a short book about DEATH. As a teacher, I see how it can help many people to improve their listening and reading skills. On top of that, videos like this can also expand your vocabulary and provide some general life knowledge.

Sagdiana is a prodigy! She is such a wonderful student. Disciplined, determined and ambitious. Working with such students is a blessing. She absorbs all the information you give as a sponge, because she is attentive to every detail!

7.5 is the least she could’ve achieved, 8 would actually be a more fair result, but it is what it is.

Sagdiana, I am happy to have had you as a student! Wish you all the best. Don’t you ever hesitate in your endeavors, you always deserve the best!

I also congratulate all our students who got 5.5-6.5, and those who got their CEFR results. You all can be proud of yourselves. Not only did you manage to bring to an end what you have started, which already shows how strong of a person you are, but also achieved the goal of getting the required minimum for the admission!

Jahongir is, meanwhile, a student who cracked this amazing score after just 2 months of preparation in the TOP group. Again, all the credit goes to him, since with his attitude any teacher would have led him to this result. By the way, he also said that the writing book helped him a lot and made him realize what writing actually is.

Brother, congratulations with the score, you did an amazing job!

Otajon was so close to getting 7.5, but the Indian speaking examiner didn’t let it happen. I don’t know what is going on with speaking scores lately, some get higher than expected, but mostly the reverse is true. I hope Otajon will decide either to ask for a re-mark or re-take the speaking part, and I will be sharing his overall 7.5 very soon here.

Writing 7 deserves a special attention. Great job, man!

Javohir has taken my month-long individual lessons to upgrade his 6.5 to 7.

A great achievement considering the short period of time he took to prepare. By the way, it’s a great idea to focus on listening if you don’t have time to work on all the sections. Unlike others, listening develops relatively faster.

Javohir, you are a very talented boy, and the main thing is to use your talent in the right way.

These six have ALMOST cracked the desired C1! Still an amazing result! Btw, my first IELTS result was also 6.5, 0.5 short of 7.

Allabergan, Madina, Malika, Gavxar, Mashxura and Atush, congratulations! You showed that everything is within your capabilities.

I do hope that these results will help you a lot in your future endeavors!

Btw, Gavxar is re-taking Reading, so let’s hope for a 7!

Another prodigy is Kenjabek, a real deal😎

He got this result in just 6 months, having finished Standard, Advanced and Top, each lasting for 8 weeks. This is a legendary result, considering his timeframe.

For you to understand it, a person who starts IELTS Standard in our program does it being on an intermediate level. Achieving almost 8 in just 24 weeks is an OMG result!

Btw, he is re-taking speaking, let’s wish him good luck!

Kenja, you are TOP!

Aziza is another proud owner of C1 who completed our program. The same can be said about her, it is her attitude that brought her 7.

Guys, I mean, teacher is important, but more than that, it is you, more specifically, your character that helps you in life. If you have a weak character, nothing will help you. However, if you have a strong one, you will definitely succeed irrespective of conditions!

Aziza, congratulations! Wish you all the best.

Maftuna is my assistant, and I am so happy for her. It is she who deserves all the credit. She did all the work by herself. She didn’t participate in my lessons after getting 7.5, only helped with students.

Although 7 for writing is impressive, it is the least she was supposed to get with her level of writing. When I asked her what helped her the most, she said that it was my writing book. Having analyzed all my essays, she started understanding better how to produce a decent essay.

Maftuna, big up to you!

Shaxzod, if I am not mistaken, is the product of our 10-month-long program. Having completed Begov’s part in 4 months, he moved to me and in 6 months he became the proud owner of C1 with an impressive result in writing. By the way, he also helped me as an assistant for some time, which I am sure played a role in his Listening, Reading and Writing scores. Giving him 6 for his speech is a crime though.

Shaxzod, wish you all the best. May you also become an outstanding English teacher!

Nurbek has achieved this result within a year. Having completed the course, he also helped me as an assistant, which I believe is a sure way to level up in the language. Explaining things to students, he started understanding everything even better, which is why he managed to get C2 level in both listening and reading.

Nurbek, wish you best of luck in the future endeavors. If you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything!
