Greetings, everyone!

I’d like to address some of the most frequently asked questions regarding our upcoming group enrollments:

When will the new groups begin?
- The entrance exam for TOP IELTS will be held on September 5th.
- The entrance exam for Advanced IELTS will be held on September 6th.
- The entrance exam for Standard IELTS will be held on September 7th.
- The entrance exam for Pre-IELTS and Multilevel(CEFR) will be held on September 8th.

What will the exam consist of?
For all levels, the exam will include sections on Listening, Reading, and Grammar. Please note, there will be no Writing or Speaking sections.

The specific time for each exam will be announced soon.

Some people choose to have their first child at an older age.
What are the reasons?
Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

It is true that many people today prefer to conceive their firstborn later in life. While there is one fundamental reason behind this trend, the obvious drawback pales in significance compared to what children can potentially gain from this.

The ever-increasing independence of young adults lies at the core of this trend. It is no secret that today’s young adults tend to live separately from their parents, a decision supported by both parties. As a result, they struggle to balance personal responsibilities and professional duties. Previously, they were supported by their parents and thus started families earlier, but today, when they must bear all responsibilities on their own, they often postpone having children.

As for the downside of later pregnancies, there is a higher probability of birth defects. Biologically, a woman’s body starts to deteriorate after the age of 25, leading to a range of health issues that can affect the fetus. Consequently, the newborn may have a weak immune system or a certain type of disability, assuming they are born at all. However, it should be noted that this might only occur in two out of ten cases.

From a psychological perspective, however, older parents can provide significant benefits to their children. Children of immature parents often fall victim to never-ending conflicts and even divorce. As a result, these unfortunate events can lead to various traumas, which develop into insecurities in later life. Therefore, based on the principle that “prevention is better than cure,” we can embrace this trend as it ensures a more carefree childhood and a mentally stable generation.

In conclusion, the separation from parents during adolescence may indeed be a blessing in disguise.

Classwork with TOP group.

The working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Agree:
1. Productivity will grow;
2. Family bonds will strengthen;
3. Time for self-development;

An opinion claiming for longer weekends at the expense of the latest workdays has been gaining popularity over the last decade, which I confidently regard as a step forward toward utopia.

It is productivity that will grow with the new schedule. So far, we have realized that success does not lie in hard work, but in smart one, as once was underlined by renowned Steve Jobs. It is true that the opponents of the idea may say that it would be hard to compensate for the lost 8 hours, which is the average length of a single working day, but, I believe that out of these 8 hours we spend only half working, in the best scenario. So, divided into four working days, the so-called loss can indeed be a gain taking into account how fresh we will be, provided that the weekend is prolonged.

Aside from this, the new weekly format will contribute to the consolidation of family bonds. Today, for example, due to heavy workload many struggle to devote themselves to their family. Some fail to build close and harmonious relationship because they lack time, while others have no energy to complete their duties as a spouse or parent. However, if we had more spare time, the problem, most probably, would be solved and the family ties would be strengthened, resulting in not only requited love, but also mentally healthy children.

The cherry on the cake will be the opportunity for self-growth due the emergence of sufficient me-time. Normally, because of all the duties on our shoulders, we forget about ourselves. We fall into a groundhog day having no clue that we are draining ourselves. Nevertheless, were we to have more leisure time, we could invest it in ourselves. For instance, we could take up new hobbies, sign up for different courses and start visiting a gym. All of this would help us grow as a person and keep us vibrant for work, leading to complete self-realization.

Succinctly put, intelligence beats effort.

Classwork with TOP group.

Some prefer to save money and then make big purchases. Others buy things on loan. Discuss both and give your opinion.

Ideas:
B1 - Some lack the nerve to take loans
B2 - These people have a business mindset

Loans intimidate some, but are viewed as an opportunity by others. Although most choose to accumulate money for pricey items, I tend to take an advantage of loans.

The fear of the former group can be reasoned as follows. Not only the interest rate, especially a high one, but also uncertainty prevents people from taking loans. Most, while pondering over a loan, focus on its tail and turn a blind eye on its advantages and thus have no nerve to make up their mind to take it. Moreover, the thoughts of paying off the debt scare people even more because of future’s vagueness. Thinking pessimistically, they start picturing worst scenarios, seeing themselves in an abyss because of arrears. As a result, they ride on a safe road instead of taking their chance on a roller coaster.

People with a business-oriented mindset, however, embrace loans. They foresee the benefits that are entailed by them. The first is time-efficiency. While saving up takes years, with a loan we can satisfy our needs instantly. Taking into account inflation, we will not lose much anyways. Costs of all the products are growing these days, so by trying to accumulate, we will still end up paying more, but what is worse we will also lose in time. Secondly, loans stimulate us to work more, conducing to both personal and professional growth. We will become stress-resistant and by pulling all the strings will find ourselves on a level, which could be just a dream had we not gone for it. Plus, loans allow us to use money multifunctionally. We can purchase items paying a certain proportion of the loaned money and the rest we can invest. In this case, the profit coming from the investment will cover the monthly fees of the loan. Consequently, having spent no money, we will not only buy, say, a car or accommodation, but also have a flow of income.

In conclusion, loans are an opportunity to change our life, so we had better seize it.

Around the world, people are now living longer than ever before in the past. Some say an aging population creates problems for governments. Others believe there are benefits to society having more elderly people.
To what extent do the advantages of possessing an aging population outweigh the disadvantages?

It is true that longevity of human life has increased, resulting in some controversy; while some accentuate its downsides to governments, others see it as favorable to society. Albeit aging population is bound to take a toll on the economy of a country, compared to societal benefits of having the elderly in huge quantities, the disadvantage pales in significance.

Economic developments often come at the cost of social values, and this case is no exception. The surge in the number of elderly people is disadvantageous from an economic perspective. Not only does this obligate governments to provide pensions for a longer duration, but the current attitude of youth towards their parents has also led to a significant demand for the construction of retirement homes. Both of these factors consume a substantial portion of the government budget that could otherwise be allocated to advancements in other areas of life. To elucidate on the latter claim, in many countries, people prioritize independence and thus leave their parents' homes, resulting in loneliness for the elderly. As they age, they become frail and require nursing care, prompting governments to build more retirement homes.

Turning to the exceeding side of the trend, societies can benefit in two ways. Firstly, the old can pass their invaluable knowledge and experience to the growing generation. It is no secret that a strong foundation facilitates further progress, raising our chances for breakthroughs. Instead of starting from scratch, it is wiser to take advantage of the expertise accumulated over the years, which is where the elderly can be of great help. Secondly, the presence of the elderly in our lives helps us remember the importance of moral values, which are often overlooked by many young people in their pursuit of professional goals in this fast-paced world. Ultimately, this helps us become more sympathetic, benevolent, and kind-hearted rather than cold, selfish, and robotic.

In conclusion, the benefits that an increasing number of elderly people bring to society eclipse the challenges they pose to governments.

Money cannot buy happiness. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is claimed that money cannot buy happiness, a statement with which I partly disagree for several reasons.

On the one hand, there are two main reasons why I disagree with this statement. Firstly, money enables financial freedom, which significantly contributes to happiness. When we do not have to worry about finances and can afford whatever we desire, we experience a stress-free life. As we all know, the absence of anxiety is a substantial step towards happiness. Secondly, money allows us to make others happy, which, in turn, makes us feel happier. For example, we can donate money to those in need or cover the costs of expensive surgeries for others. By making them happy, we also experience a sense of joy and fulfillment.

On the other hand, there are reasons why I agree with the statement. Primarily, there are some incurable diseases that money cannot cure. If we fall victim to such illnesses, no amount of money can save us. Steve Jobs is a salient example of this; despite being a multi-billionaire, he died of cancer. Furthermore, money cannot buy sincerity. The wealthiest individuals are often surrounded by fake friends and partners who treat them well only because of their money. Although it might be comfortable to have such "yes-men," deep down, they realize that everyone around them is either a snake or a rat. Thus, it becomes evident that money cannot buy genuine relationships or authenticity.

In conclusion, my position on this issue is balanced. While money can alleviate stress and provide opportunities to spread happiness, it cannot solve every problem or guarantee sincere relationships. Therefore, it is essential to recognize the limitations of what money can achieve in the pursuit of true happiness.

Have been thinking of the right way to develop SPEAKING, and here is what I think:

- First it is better to focus on Fluency (it is super hard to develop all speed, accuracy and range at the same time. Thinking about grammar and vocabulary slows you down, so I believe we better work on each aspect separately);

- After we start speaking on a normal pace, we gotta pay attention to ACCURACY. How correctly we speak. We must try to eliminate mistakes from our speech, especially grammar ones;

Speaking on a good pace with few mistakes guarantees you 7 in Speaking.

- To continue our development, we should shift our focus to RANGE(we need to add complex grammar structures(like passive, conditionals, perfect tenses) and some less common lexical resource( topic vocabulary, collocations, idioms). This will raise our level to 7.5/8;

-Finally, we MUST improve our PRECISION. We must use precise vocabulary and on-point grammar. We shouldn’t speak with definitions, we must be able to hit the point in everything we use. This is 8.5/9;

Another classwork.

It is important for people to take risks, in both their professional lives and personal lives.

Do the advantages of taking these risks outweigh the disadvantages?

Risks are crucial for development in these areas, yet they often intimidate people. While loss is inevitable, we tend to gain more than we lose if we take the chance.

From a negative perspective, every risk involves sacrificing something in pursuit of a goal, with no guarantee of success. For instance, a successful employee might give up a stable career to become an entrepreneur. If they don't manage the challenges, they may find themselves financially and mentally broken. Unfortunately, many people lack the willpower to recover from such setbacks, and for them, this can be the end of the journey.

However, if someone finds the strength to persevere, failure can turn out to be a blessing in disguise. They may gain valuable experience and inspiration to prove their true worth. With renewed drive, they might achieve heights that would have been impossible had they played it safe. Ironically, this success would stem from what initially seemed like a failure.

Moreover, taking risks adds excitement to life. Many of us merely exist rather than truly live. Routine dulls our senses, making life feel monotonous and colorless. But if we step out of our comfort zones and take risks, we can experience a surge of adrenaline, like a defibrillator jolt to our lives. This rejuvenation can bring happiness, regardless of the outcome.

In conclusion, risks should be seen in a positive light because they always benefit us, even if the benefits aren't immediately visible.

It is often claimed that the main ingredient of success is persistence, a notion I wholeheartedly agree with for three specific reasons.

First and foremost, some argue that skills are more important than persistence. They believe that if people can perform certain activities well, they will most likely achieve their goals. However, examples of skillful people who have failed in life abound, demonstrating that skills alone are not the most crucial factor. Conversely, there are numerous instances of individuals who, despite lacking significant skills, have succeeded through sheer determination and persistence.

Furthermore, others contend that knowledge is the primary driver of success, encapsulated in the saying "knowledge is power." Despite this, there are many knowledgeable individuals who have failed in life. This is not due to a lack of luck but rather an absence of persistence. Had they not given up and continued pursuing their goals, they would likely have eventually achieved success.

Lastly, some believe that talent is the key to success. While talent can make the journey easier, it is persistence that ultimately determines the outcome. There are many talented individuals who have not achieved significant success, primarily due to a lack of persistence and character.

In conclusion, I fully agree with the idea that persistence is the key to success.
