CSAT tips by Arsh (Admin of the group)
1. Don't bifurcate passage and Quant + Reasoning
2. Give at least 3 to 4 papers of upsc csat ( pyq - 22 - 21 - 20 and so on ). Then try to analyse if u r able to correct passage or which section is ur strength and which one is weak . ( Refer upsc Answer key for csat; don't go for coaching one : 2022 answer key is not available so only refer answer key for quants and reasoning of any coaching institute.
3. Now - See which section of reasoning and quants is weak. It might be Profit n loss, Time and Distance, Blood Relations and so on. Hence refer any one video... Go for Prepp and Ookul they are good. And best part about them is... They make sure u don't use tricks but answer questions on rational aptitude.
4. Now refer any good book for quants if u r struggling a lot. Mere upar mere chote bhai ne rehem kiya hai and He gave me a book of his coaching institute. So aap r s Agarwal ya aisa koi book lo and attempt.
4. In between Don't and plzz don't leave passage.. Daily attempt 2 passage... U can refer upsc passage ( 2014 till now ). Or institute whose passage is at upsc level from my experience is Vision and Insights. Even their quants and reasoning are more or less good. But don't refer Forum ...for csat at least. Their gs paper is awesome.
5. Lastly.... Focus on skill of solving paper. I.e 2:30 pm and make sure u attempt carefully and smartly. Do a lot of practice ( priority :- upsc - vision - insight )
6. And I am from arts background, nevertheless touched maths after 10th. But cleared csat twice so have faith aap bhi kar sakte ho. Just be smart. And read between the lines for passage and rest practice for quants and reasoning.

Book recommendation - This book is coming from a man I had fortune to know over years and I still consider it a privilege to be able to do so. A man who holds thoughts so complicated that half a time I used to nod without getting it, thoughts so compelling that you have no other choice than to agree to it. 'Agree to it or else you would have to kill me along with my ideas' is his motto. Kidding 😂, still he is known to make present of his ideas felt wherever and whenever he will express. What better way to know what he thinks in his Goddamn beautiful mind than to read राते और चहलकदमियां by a person whom everyone on this channel would know, my roommate, my de facto mentor during preparation days, now IPS of chhatisgarh, Rohit Shah
Buy your copy, because people like him rarely are found these days And rarer is a book from the same.
What he writes in his book you might ask, your guess is as good as mine (except for some poems he showed way back) because I am yet to read it once it reaches to my location on 18th.
But one thing I can say for sure, he will make it worth your time and effort.
Our Second session on Interview preparation starts today at 4PM. Interested Interview appearing candidates can join the group and discussion session both by sending their admit card to @transcendenced

Our first discussion on interview preparation 2022 starts today in 10 mins. Interested interview appearing candidates can dm at @transcendenced (with Admit card to join) the discussion session.
There will be no agenda of discussion today, open to any question as basic as it can get.
Here is the final offering from my side for prelims 2021. I know I couldn't fulfil my promise of giving you a video on it, but this document is a close attempt to compensate for it. I have tried it to keep it very simple, very self explanatory. Hopefully there wouldn't be much confusions. It is in no way a Master code to clear prelims. But it contains the soul of everything I know about this prelims exam. Hopefully it helps you in your endeavour.
Kindly pardon me if I am not able to respond to your doubts on this document because I will be rarely active online till prelims.
Best wishes 🙏
Lets meet at 4:30 to discuss strategy for upcoming prelims of 2023. Join me here /channel/TowardsCivilServices?livestream

UPSC tips:
Try to watch the budget live so that you can vibe with content. Notice where it gets boos and where it gets claps. Very good for understanding microeconomics.
You can watch it here- https://www.youtube.com/live/0Uhj0ORYwHE?feature=share
As promised. Below is the Google drive folder containing Excel sheets for each of prelims subject. Not wanting to boast, but these sheets are the reason why I don't face much problem in clearing prelims, be it of UPSC or UPPSC.
Try reading them as starting point. Revise and remember them in next stage. These sheets also act as powerful quizzing tool. An explanatory session on how to quiz with these Excel sheets can be planned in case I get free (no promise).
Huge credit goes to Sakshi, one of the admins of the group in ideation and making of the sheet.
Enjoy :) (Don't play with comments section in the file, they are there for a reason)

Tips on sleeping (by one of group member) -
So here is my list for how to get better at sleeping:
1) View sunlight by going outside within 30-60 minutes of waking. Do that again in the late afternoon, prior to sunset. If you wake up before the sun is out and you want to be awake, turn on artificial lights and then go outside once the sun rises.
On bright cloudless days: view morning and afternoon sun for 10 min; cloudy days: 20 min; very overcast days 30-60 min. If you live someplace with very minimal light, consider an artificial daytime simulator source.
Don’t wear sunglasses for this practice if you safely can, but contact lenses and eyeglasses are fine.
No, you don’t have to look directly at the sun, and never look at ANY light so bright it is painful to view! That said, you can’t wear a brimmed hat, sunglasses and remain in the shade and expect to “wake up” your circadian clock.
2) Wake up at the same time each day and go to sleep when you first start to feel sleepy. Pushing through the sleepy late evening feeling and going to sleep too late (for you) is one reason people wake at 3 am and can’t fall back asleep.
3) Avoid caffeine within 8-10 hours of bedtime. Dr. Matt Walker (sleep expert from UC Berkeley) might even say 12-14 hours. I do fine with caffeine at 2 pm and I go to sleep at ~10-11 pm. Dr. Walker was on the Huberman Lab Podcast and we discussed this in detail.
4) If you have sleep disturbances, insomnia, or anxiety about sleep, try the zero-cost research-supported protocols on the Reveri app (for Apple or Android phones) Do the Reveri sleep self-hypnosis 3x a week at any time of day. It’s only 10-15 min long and will help you rewire your nervous system to be able to relax faster.
5) Avoid viewing bright lights—especially bright overhead lights between 10 pm and 4 am. Here is a simple rule: only use as much artificial lighting as is necessary for you to remain and move about safely at night. Blue blockers can help a bit at night but still dim the lights. Viewing bright lights of all colors are a problem for your circadian system. Candlelight and moonlight are fine. (Shift workers should see the Huberman Lab Podcast on jetlag for offsetting shift work negative effects. Same for jetlagged travelers.)
6) Limit daytime naps to less than 90 min, or don’t nap at all. I love naps as do many of my colleagues. I tend to nap for 30 min most afternoons… maybe 45 min, but never longer.
7) If you wake up in the middle of the night (which, by the way, is normal to do once or so each night) but you can’t fall back asleep, consider doing an NSDR protocol when you wake up. Enter “NSDR” into YouTube and the top 3-4 options have different voices, durations for you to select from. Or simply do a “Yoga Nidra” protocol (enter “yoga nidra” to YouTube; 100s to select.)

Читать полностью…Philosophy of Worry :
A very generic suggestion to everyone for every part of your life. Your worry about something should be proportional to the possibility of happening that thing.
Example-
1) not clearing prelims- Highest worry because more than 99 percent possibility of not clearing it
2) not clearing mains - very little worry for those who are yet to write mains- because less than 1 percent possibility of you writing mains. And decent worry for those who have cleared in past and will clear this time too- there is about 20 percent possibility of converting mains into interview
3) not clearing interview- there is not problem as such because no one fails in interview. SO those appearing for interview should have little worry. Those writing mains should have very little worry about it. Those who are yet to clear prelims have no right to worry about it.
4) worry about getting equal marks to someone, and who ranks above who- no right to worry as its once in million chance that will happen to you.
5) a person who is not appeared yet, but thinking about LBSNAA— plain stupidity.
6) person worrying about pen not being waterproof- once in million chance of happening as per past record of upsc. So no worry
Overall, you are just like everyone else in front of nature, destiny, god— whatever you say. Any event will happen to you or not, keeping all other facts aside, is more or less about probability— and believe in probability.
Nature holds no grudge against you, nor it holds any love for you. So next time you decide to worry about something- think how much probability is there that event will occur. and how much probability is there that event will occur against or in favour of you. And worry accordingly. Right now here are something of highest probability-
1) not clearing prelims
2) not getting proper sleep and feeling restless/anxious in exam
3) not being able to execute the plan that you made and thinking of next plan that you also will not execute. You will keep making plans and plans, and keep missing targets, and depression will creep in.
So worry about that on highest priority

As posted earlier. Those who are to appear for interview can join the UPSC interview group. All you have to do is dm your admit card (to ensure spammers don't enter in the group)
