The small investor to whale ratio is full force surging.

What does this mean?

The investors that have been selling this cycle (2022 - 2023) are small, whales are holding. This is powerful for price which can be seen in the past when the metric surges.

The two cycles from 2013 - 2017 were memorable and powerful. Whales weren't interested in selling at all. You can see where the metric takes declines then (red arrows), price underwent huge suppression.

Whale profit taking was relentless last cycle. The only let up was during the 2019 mid-top surge out of the lows.

Retail sold this last bear market, whales didn't flinch.

But one look at the 2W Bollinger Bands tells us that this time is different
