🔰 FREE VIP SIGNAL 🕯
SELL NOW 🔽 DAX (GER_40) 🇩🇪

Despite yesterday's very strong sell-off - mainly driven by the big US tech companies - I think it is still too early to buy the current dip. Our position in the Nasdaq 100 has triggered our tight SL - and although we see stocks stabilizing at the moment, it is more likely that the current correction will continue for a while after the very strong rally in August.

► Robust US labor market data could help stabilize Wall Street, but the market overall will not do any major bets ahead of Friday's important NFP data, which will be very much in focus and will set market expectations for the extent of the Fed's upcoming rate cut - meaning the market overall remains nervous.

► The German DAX is currently trading 0.8 % lower - however, most of the losses have occurred in after-hours trading. Performance in regular trading is flat. We even see a recovery to ~18650, so European equities lost less than Asian equities today and much less than Wall Street yesterday. We are going SHORT in the DAX range 18625 - 18660.

German economic data continues to disappoint - especially compared to neighboring Eurozone countries. In addition, German auto giant VW is planning unprecedented plant closures in Germany, citing weakening car sales - missing sales of about “two factories” (= or 500,000 fewer sales than pre-Covid). The outlook remains bleak and the German automotive industry will continue to feel the headwinds from VW's pessimistic outlook and its extensive €10 billion cost-cutting initiative.

🗣️ Tip: Multiply your usual trade size by ~ 4 - 6 (400% - 600%) when trading the DAX (GER_40)

📊 SmartTrader Insights: Wednesday Markets Wrap 🗒

📆 Wednesday, September 4

❗️ Tech stock selloff leads global market decline; markets await Friday’s NFP data

► The Stoxx 600 index fell over 1%, with technology stocks leading the losses as the sharp tech selloff in the US spread across the globe. ASML Holding and other major tech companies saw significant declines. Economic data from Germany and Spain provided a mixed picture; while Spain's composite PMI signaled its ninth consecutive month of expansion at 53.5, Germany's service sector growth slowed for the third straight month, with the PMI falling to 51.2. France, on the other hand, reported its strongest services expansion since May 2022, with a PMI of 55.0, but the French services sector certainly received a signficiant Olympics boost.

U.S. stock futures edge further down in early pre-market trading on Wednesday following a sharp selloff in technology stocks, led by Nvidia, which erased $279 billion in market value - the biggest one-day wipeout in markte value in the history. The S&P 500 future is currently 0.2% lower and the Nasdaq 100 0.4% lower. For both indices, yesterday was the worst start to September - historically a difficult month for equities - since 2015 and 2002 (Nasdaq 100). Market sentiment is now centered on the potential for a significant rate cut from the Federal Reserve as economic data continues to show signs of slowing. Traders are now focused on upcoming U.S. economic data, particularly the JOLTS report, to gauge potential shifts in Federal Reserve policy. Markets expect the Bank of Canada to cut rates by 25 bps later today.

Asian markets experienced a significant decline as well, with the MSCI Asia dropping as much as 2.7%, led by a nearly 4% drop in Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index. The tech-heavy indices in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan were hit hard following the selloff in U.S. tech stocks. China’s markets also struggled, with the Shanghai Composite falling 0.48% as weaker-than-expected services activity data added to the region’s woes. The Australian market also saw a 2% drop amid disappointing GDP data.

► Oil prices continued to slide, pushing lower to below $70/barrel, after a nearly 5% drop on Tuesday due to weak demand and oversupply concerns. Gold prices dropped to $2,475/oz as predicted by SmartTrader Chief Analyst Robert Lindner influenced by the diminishing expectations for an "outsized" 50 basis-point rate cut by the Fed. Gold will continue to be under pressure in the near term but remains bullish in the medium- and long-term according to our Chief Analyst.

8/8 = 100% 🏆 Success Rate

We are still at a near exceptional 89% ‼️ success rate and with our recent very strong performance we are again trying to reach a success rate of close to 90% (over a five week period).

We closed our Meta position today with a large profit before the sharp sell-off started in New York, caused in particular by heavy losses in the chip sector (we took great advantage of this with Intel). We thus also closed August 29 with a success rate of 100% 🏆 (with 8 trades in four different asset classes - spectacular).

Before that, we closed two in-the-money gold positions (from today) 📸

Congratulations!

⚡️ RAPID SIGNAL 🕯
BUY NOW 🔼 🇺🇸

► The sell-off went wide today at the start of the first US session in September. We see significantly lower yields - actually positive for (VIP ONLY) - but also triggered by volatility as up to 29 US companies plan to sell US investment-grade bonds today.

► We buy the sharp dip here - with the (VIP ONLY). In particular, the heavy losses in the chip sector (again led by Nvidia) caused heavy losses (Broadcom, AMD, Qualcomm and of course Intel, for example, are also all very deep red). However, the losses are quite widespread, as financials, industrials, other technology and (VIP ONLY) energy and mining companies (with commodity prices falling sharply) are also trading with significant losses.

► We are going LONG now: Range (VIP ONLY)and expect(VIP ONLY). PMI data were slightly below expectations - but still better than the previous month - although they are in contraction territory (VIP ONLY) ...

🔰 NYSE OPENING UPDATE 🕯

🔰 FREE VIP SIGNAL
🕯
SELL WHEN* NYSE OPENS 🔽 Intel (INTC) 🇺🇸
⚠️ Volatile; 2/3 trading size

We see Wall Street slightly down in pre-market trading on the first regular US trading day in September. Investors are a little concerned about upcoming data that could affect the Goldilocks(=all perfect) picture of the US economy.

🔹 Meta (- 0.6%) loses some of Friday's solid gains. We set a tight TP and look forward to closing our Meta position well in the money soon and possibly before the important PMI data. TP ✅ @: 523.43 (optional). JPMorgan calls Meta a “top pick”.

► We are seeing a nervous market at the start of September - traditionally a difficult and volatile month for equities. This year will be no different (at least in terms of volatility). Wall Street opened slightly weaker, with losses in the big tech companies leading Wall Street into negative territory (Nvidia currently almost 2% lower). Investors are also somewhat concerned about the upcoming US economic data. After the (near) perfect data of late, markets are taking anything that isn't "Goldilocks" with a grain of salt. There is also room for lower rate cut expectations.

► We're selling Intel's sharp rise here from Friday, when the company surged nearly 10% after it was revealed that the former chip market leader is working with investment bankers to find a way out of its financial malaise, and one of the measures on the table is to spin off its foundry division, which makes the chips.

► Intel is still in big trouble - I also see a very high risk of Intel being kicked out of the Dow Jones - even if it is mainly a symbolic move, it would show that Intel is no longer a key player in the industry.

► CEO Pat Gelsinger and key executives are expected to present a plan to the company's board of directors later today or this week to divest unnecessary business units and revamp capital spending. This will include ideas on how to reduce overall costs by selling off businesses that Intel can no longer afford, including the Altera programmable chip unit. It also includes plans to pause or cancel the $32 billion fab in Germany (despite massive German subsidies) - a project that appears to have been delayed anyway.

► We are going SHORT near $22.00 (range 21.65 - 22.00) and could see further losses after Friday's strong gains.

🗣️ Tip: Multiply your usual trading size by ~ 1,500 - 1,600 (150,000% - 160,000%) trading Intel (INTC) - 2/3 trading size

We made an excellent gold trade. Gold failed to hold its support above $2,500 and has now surprised investors with a dip (not us). Your TP may have just triggered a very nice profit (2487.56). If you are still SHORT, set the TP tight now - you can close very deep in the money.

We see yields flat/slightly higher now after being slightly lower earlier. The USD continued to rise (DXY now at +0.2%).

📊 SmartTrader Insights: Tuesday Markets Wrap 🗒

📆 Tuesday, September 3

❗️ European & US stocks slightly lower post US holiday and ahead of key data

► European stocks slipped slightly from their record highs from last week, with the Stoxx 600 trading currently 0.2% lower as traders brace for upcoming US data releases. Investors in Europe remain watchful of potential volatility as the Federal Reserve’s rate-cutting cycle draws closer. Investors in the Eurozone await vital economic data such as HCOB PMI on Wednesday and GDP on Friday. September is historically a month of higher volatility for equities - and this year will be no different, with key interest rate decisions looming and the US election debates in full swing.

US equity futures saw little change after the Labor Day holiday, with markets preparing for a busy week of economic reports starting with manufacturing data later today (S&P Global Manufacturing PMI - which will likely have only a limited impact as S&P Global released preliminary data before and the important ISM Manufacturing PMI report) and culminating in nonfarm payrolls on Friday. The USD continued its rally, reaching a two-week high, even as traders priced in a potential start to US policy easing this month. Despite the possibility of a rate cut, strategists at JPMorgan caution that the rally in equities could stall due to more signs of slowing growth and due to seasonal trends.

Asian stocks were mostly (slightly) in the red, with declines in Australia, Hong Kong, and South Korea as investors digested recent inflation data from South Korea. China’s mixed PMI data fueled expectations for further government stimulus, leading to a drop in the Shanghai Composite. In Japan, JPY rallied after Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda reiterated potential interest rate hikes if economic conditions allow. Despite this, the Nikkei 225 managed to edge higher. Traders in the region remain cautious ahead of additional economic data from China and the US.

Libya declared force majeure at a key oil field, reducing global supply by nearly a million barrels per day. Despite this, oil prices continued to edge lower to $72.3/barrel (spot price). Gold is little changed, hovering around $2,503/oz, positioning itself for potential slight gains ahead of Friday’s NFP data release.

Quick update - I'm back in the office (=home office). We're back in full swing tomorrow and will also be rocking September - a historically volatile month

The five-week period (July 23 - August 23) is now at almost 89% - absolutely incredible, but as I said recently - this is very likely the highest success rate in the world right now over such a long period (and in short-term trading). We will be happy to stay above 83% for the next few weeks as well - especially considering that we only take all our trades home with significant gains.

The GBP/CHF is not the perfect example of this - but we closed the pair well after a slight and temporary deterioration in risk sentiment supported the CHF. Otherwise, as so often in recent days, our trading has been impressive with indices and the very large profits (with indices) thanks to big moves and very strong entries & exits on our end.

⚡️ RAPID UPDATE 🕯
EUR/USD
SL 🔑 @: 1.10503
TP ✅ @: 1.10436

Sorry for the slightly delayed update. Your position may have already closed in our very well set TP (1.11516). If you are still in - you can set 1.11503 as SL and a slightly wider TP. Our position is deep in profit.

We made the perfect EUR/USD trade yesterday and see now the weakening of the pair that we already predicted in the previous week - in particular due to a weaker European economy (vs the US economy) as well disinflation already being more advanced in the Eurozone making it overall more likely that the ECB is cutting rates faster than the Fed (and already from a lower level).

I overall see more downside ahead - not due to a strong USD (although last week's weakening went too far), but with the EUR remaining weak.

⚡️ LIGHTING-RAPID UPDATE 🕯
Nasdaq (NAS100 / US100) 🇺🇸
TP ✅ @: 19577.90

I'm currently boarding my plane to Spain for a few spontaneous meetings.

I won't be available for the next 120 minutes or so.

The movements overnight were very positive for us. We can set a TP for our Nasdaq position, which is now deep in profit overall - our perfectly timed re-entry even 200 (!)points. You can also choose to close your position well in profit overall. Range 19510 - 19550.

Our gold position has reached our very well placed TP at 2515.16 (if you're still in - I expect gold to cool off again near 2510 - but we'll probably see some light buying before the end of today's US session. Also, our GBP/CHF closed at 1.11813 (TP) - if you're still in, you can close even a little better at range 1.11930 -1.11990.

Congratulations 🎊 exceptionally strong trading/positioning and TP setting.

Sorry for the delay - I really had to eat something.

We traded incredibly yesterday - especially our expectations for Nvidia were absolutely spot on. We probably should have traded the stock - but my forecast (very strong earnings / and yet Nvidia still falling sharply - was a very unique forecast). It was probably the better decision overall to trade the Nasdaq - also because we had expected a weak revenue forecast from Salesforce. We had some bad luck with a strange reaction to the Salesforce earnings report - the software giant ended the day in the red after all.

Most of you finished yesterday's Nasdaq 100 much better than I did - but even at 19201.30, we made more than 150 points of profit and another 150+ points of profit with our first Nasdaq LONG today.

We can set a pretty tight TP for our gold position (optional) - although I expect more downside (and no new ATH for now). We can also set a good TP for our EUR/USD.

Congrats - we traded the recent chaotic moves very well - but I'm more happy about our predictions that ended up being spot on.
👏 Your Robert

We made one of the best NYSE opening trades (again) with Intel - although we saw at the end even sharper losses from opening from some other S&P 500 stocks - in particular Nvidia at -9.54% (which was today's by far sharpest drag on the Nasdaq 100 / S&P 500) - but also semiconductor equipment maker KLA Corporation -9.52% fell even slightly worse than Intel at -8.76%. All in all - the massive underperformance of the chip sector pushed Wall Street into deep red territory.

We can tighten the TP for our gold position slightly.

We have not had a single negative month in the last six years and on average win over 80% of all our trades.

► There is further downside potential in the short term for the Nasdaq 100 and not too much that could be seen as very positive in the short term - although robust job openings data, improved factory orders and tomorrow's likely Bank of Canada rate cut could help stabilize the markets.

► We can buy a small position in the Nasdaq here (if you have a LONG position) at ~18900, but work with a tight SL (also if you are holding a LONG position). If the Nasdaq falls below 18830 - 18800, we will likely see more short term panic selling leading to a decline towards 18500. We see the Nasdaq near the lows of the day, but tech stocks, chip stocks, but also tech giants like Apple, Alphabet and Netflix are technically oversold in the short term.

► Today's very heavy losses in big tech - a sector that nearly all investment banks still see as outperforming - went a long way and could lead to an overhang of dip buying tomorrow. We are working with a tight SL.

🗣️ Tip: Multiply your usual trade size by ~ 5 - 7 (500% - 700%) when trading the Nasdaq (NAS100).

SELL NOW 🔽 EUR/USD

► We sell the EUR/USD, which is fluctuating today. We can take a SHORT position here (Range 1.10500 - 1.10600) and expect the pair to slide further towards 1.10000 in the coming sessions. We now see a bit of support from continued selling on Wall Street, lower yields, sharply lower commodity prices (especially oil prices) and slightly worse than expected US PMI data.

► However, the overall picture of the US economy and the US labor market remains robust - although investors will be waiting for Friday's NFP report in particular - the most important NFP report in quite some time, as it will be the NFP report before the Fed's rate cut in September.

► We see the USD stabilizing - with a slight rise in the coming sessions, while the EUR will remain weak.

Gold continues to trade near all-time highs and is currently finding buyers (=support) below $2,500, but with a lack of new positive catalysts for gold and potentially further signs of a robust US economy, further diminishing expectations of a 50bp Fed rate cut later this month, gold will remain under pressure in the near term, while the USD will continue to recover from sharp losses in August.

► The US economy continues to outperform the economies of Europe and Asia and there are few signs that this will change in the near future, making the USD generally attractive after the recent sell-off. We see flat yields.

► Gold rose back above $2,500 after starting today's session with some losses. We expect gold to see further selling in the near term and are now positioning SHORT again near $2,500. We see heavier losses in other precious metals (as well as industrial metals), while gold is currently trading flat/slightly positive for the day. Silver has fallen by almost 1% and platinum by as much as 1.4%, which is also putting pressure on gold.

📊 SmartTrader Insights: Monday Markets Wrap 🗒

📆 Monday, September 02

❗️ European stocks fall slightly from record highs in early September; US markets remain closed for holiday

► European stocks retreated from record highs reached on Friday, ahead of a week of key data that will provide fresh insight into the likely pace of monetary easing by major central banks, including the ECB. The broad European Stoxx 600 fell by a current 0.3% on the first day of September - a month that is normally more volatile than average for markets. Chancellor Olaf Scholz's governing coalition was punished in two regional elections in eastern Germany on Sunday, with the "AFD", considered extreme right-wing, winning its first triumph in a state election since the Second World War. However, it is highly unlikely that the 'far right' will be able to form a government as they are shunned by all other parties represented in parliament. Nevertheless, the German people have once again signaled that they no longer want to be governed by the current coalition, which has proven to be very damaging to Europe's largest economy, is mired in constant disunity, is unable to find a solution to Germany's refugee crisis and is sticking to overambitious climate targets despite the fact that this is clearly severely damaging the German economy.

US equity futures were little changed, recovering from their initial losses. The S&P 500 closed just below its all-time high on Friday. The US markets will remain closed today for the US Labor Day holiday. August began with heavy losses and a recovery at the same pace, actually resulting in a positive month for Wall Street. We see a USD that is little changed but continues to recover some of the losses of the last few weeks. Equities have significantly underperformed in September for the last four years, while volatility has increased. This month could be similar as the crucial US jobs report on Friday serves as a guide to how quickly or slowly the Fed will cut rates and the US election campaign is in full swing. The market expects the Fed's easing cycle to begin this month (100% probability according to swap markets), with around a 25% chance of a 50bp cut.

► In Asian markets, several stimulus packages have failed to revive growth in China, where a persistent slump in the real estate market is dampening domestic demand in the world's second-largest economy. Caixin manufacturing data for China posted an unexpected rise on Monday but failed to reverse sentiment after an official indicator of factory activity contracted for the fourth straight month in August.

Oil prices have fallen on signs that OPEC+ plans to increase output from October despite strengthening economic headwinds in China, but managed to stabilize today. WTI is trading slightly above $73/barrel (spot price) but could come under further pressure amid continued signs of weakening demand from China. Gold has barely changed and is down slightly at $2,500, while industrial metals are trading in negative territory due to ongoing concerns about China's economic weakness.

⚠️ We will be sharing fewer FREE signals in the future. Join SmartTrader VIP (you can join also for FREE) to benefit from the world's most accurate trading signals. SmartTrader is the only fully transparent trading channel and signal provider and the only one basing all signals on in-depth fundamental and sentiment analysis. By following our signals correctly and managing your risk on a basic level (never risking more than 3-4% of your balance in a single trade, which incl. re-entries), you are 100% likely to trade successfully over a period longer than two weeks. We consistently win more than 80% of our trades – no one else comes close to this achievement. They may claim - but it's not true. Trust ONLY SmartTrader.

► We are buying the current dip. US economic data has been extremely good, leading to continued expectations that everything is in a "Goldilocks" state, including a healthy US consumer - the key to a strong US economy, while inflation figures are not pointing to an acceleration but continue to fall (slowly) in line with expectations. Consumer sentiment remains positive in the US, while consumer inflation expectations (as measured by the University of Michigan) are also falling - good data everywhere.

► We closed our Nasdaq 100 today with a huge total profit almost absolutely perfect at 19577.90 (TP). We are seeing typical end of day/end of month selling with some portfolio rebalancing. However, US economic data remains near ideal. We saw European markets at record levels (DAX & Euro Stoxx 600 with intraday records today - the Dow hit a new all-time high yesterday).

► We now return to the Nasdaq, which is now slightly below 19400 (we buy range 19360 - 19395*) or about 200 (!) points below our triggered TP, with the Nasdaq now trading only 0.35% higher (the Dow Jones even in the red - also thanks ... Salesforce - we were also ahead of the market here, which misinterpreted the report) - after a daily high of more than 1.3% when the Nasdaq briefly rose above 19575 and also triggered our perfectly set TP.

Growth stocks should also benefit from a sharp drop in oil prices OPEC+ plans to proceed with previously announced output hikes in Q4.

► Our timing today/including our TP setting remains absolutely exceptional, almost unreal good - congratulations! 👏

❗️European stocks rise as inflation eases; Investors eye potential ECB rate cuts

► European stocks edged closer to a fourth consecutive week of gains, driven by easing inflation in major economies like France, Germany, and Spain. The Stoxx Europe 600 index gained 0.3%, pushing the week's advance to 1.4% and nearing a record high. Investors are optimistic about potential rate cuts from the European Central Bank (ECB) as French inflation fell to its lowest level since July 2021, alongside positive GDP data from Germany and Spain, as well as cooler-than-expected inflation data from both countries reported yesterday- with inflation rate in German and Spain already at ECB target. Eurozone inflation came in as expected while inflation in Italy fell down well below ECB target at 1.1%.

U.S. equity futures gained slightly after a flat session on Wall Street, with the Dow Jones setting another record close. Nvidia's more than 6% decline weighed on tech stocks, but overall market sentiment remained positive as traders awaited the release of the PCE Price Index. With the U.S. economy showing resilience despite high interest rates, expectations for a Federal Reserve rate cut remain intact, supported by stronger-than-expected Q2 GDP growth.

Asian stocks were mixed as investors processed various economic data points across the region. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose by 0.41%, despite disappointing industrial production and retail sales figures, and a rise in unemployment. In China, the Shanghai Composite increased by 1.34% as investors awaited crucial manufacturing and services data. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index surged by 1.82%, marking its fourth straight weekly gain, while Indian and Australian markets also saw modest increases.

► In the commodities sector, oil prices kept yesterday’s gains trading at $75.3/barrel (spot price), buoyed by positive U.S. economic data and ongoing supply disruptions in Libya. Meanwhile, gold hovered at $2,520/oz, close to all-time highs. Markets anticipate the Fed to remain on rate cut path which supports gold.

There is no update on the positions here - GBP/CHF remains open. We are widening our SL/TP slightly. I see more upside here in the short term, especially as risk appetite has generally increased, supporting GBP - which remains strong as the Bank of England is seen as less dovish than the ECB (and Fed).

Our success rate remains astronomically high, but it will be very difficult to reach 89.4% again in the near future
- even with several "perfect" days - but of course, I am working on it! We - together! 🤝
