► WTI rose by 1.3% after the API data showed a surprising decline in US crude oil and gasoline inventories, thus providing some support for oil. Most recently, oil prices fell for two days in a row (including the sharp decline on Monday due to the prospect of a slowdown in hostilities in the Middle East). The more important EIA data will be released today.

► Oil prices also benefited from temporarily lower yields (after recently rising sharply) and a temporarily weaker USD – particularly under pressure from better-than-expected economic data from the Eurozone overall and inflation data that exceeded expectations (in Spain and the German federal states).

► We are SELLING the recovery attempt and continue to see hopes for a de-escalation in the Middle East with Israel's attempt to defuse the conflict in Lebanon and Israel's limited attack on Iran that did not target either oil facilities or Iran's nuclear project.

► The rise in US oil production has also led to an oil glut and reduced OPEC+'s power to control the global oil price. While OPEC can still drive up the oil price by cutting production, OPEC and de facto leader Saudi Arabia show little interest in declining market share. Combined with the expected slowdown in oil demand – especially from China – which continues to struggle with growth and is rapidly switching to electric vehicles, expectations are growing that the supply glut could increase even further in 2025.

We have maneuvered very well through the market in this side-ways markets this week (will change tomorrow) and managed our open positions extremely well today - including Tesla (which we overall closed very deep in profit), as well as our EUR/USD (= 17th ‼️ consecutive successful FX-trade) and the combination of being SHORT in Europe (DAX) and LONG at Wall Street (or tech specifically with our Nasdaq 100 - which actually rose much further).

We see the Wall Street a bit hot now - especially growth stocks outperformed today. We will see if Alphabet's earnings report was strong enough to push big tech further up tomorrow. AMD's sharp losses (now near 8% lower) may result in some profit taking in the important chip sector tomorrow. We can set a not too wide TP for our Nasdaq 100 position.

❗️AMD falls ~7% post earnings & unimpressive forecast

Data center business slightly above expectations. The very important gross margins (where Nvidia is so incredibly strong at around 75%) came in at 54% versus 53% expected.

The guidance was close to expectations, but obviously below the optimistic shadow expectations - and this is exactly why we also went SHORT on the Nasdaq 100 ahead of earnings reports - as a lot of optimism was priced in (especially in the chip sector).

It also shows that earnings (especially for the “AI companies”) must significantly exceed expectations (as shadow expectations are higher than analyst expectations = 99.9% of traders do not understand this and focus too much on the known analyst expectation - as shadow expectations are also not quantified).

❗️Alphabet 1.5 - 4% higher in immediate positive reaction after Q3 earnings

Cloud revenue slightly above expectations. Also up on ad revenue (including YouTube - which was weak last quarter, but didn't meet overly optimistic expectations in Q3).

We currently see Alphabet in positive territory based on earnings figures - but still very volatile. However, the impact on the Nasdaq 100 is limited as a lot of earnings optimism has already been priced in today. The Nasdaq posted a record close today.

I had expected a slight gain, but the numbers turned out a bit better than many had feared given the recent signs of an economic slowdown. However, I'm not sure this will be enough to get investors back into Alphabet tomorrow (although Alphabet is doing still absolutely fine).

Visa is up slightly after earnings. Reddit is up more than 15% after the earnings report. EA is unchanged. Snap is down 3% despite beating expectations and more mixed guidance. Next up: AMD.

► We are seeing a market on hold - especially in anticipation of the results of the big tech companies, with Alphabet being the second of the ‘Magnificent 7’ after Tesla to announce its results (later today).

► A weaker than expected US labor market report - with job openings falling to their lowest level since 2021 - led to some USD selling today despite yields continuing to rise. The swap markets have increased expectations of interest rate cuts, with a rate cut of 25 basis points next week 100% priced in. However, labor market data has been mostly robust recently - including strong NFP data (the latest NFP report will be released on Friday). The expectation of another “positive” labor market report on Friday will also limit the USD sell-off.

► Consumer confidence remains very strong and markets remain optimistic about upcoming earnings. We see gains in New York today (as expected).

► We sell GBP/USD here at (above) the key 1.30000 level and expect the USD to remain in demand as commodity prices will also find a bottom soon (although I see some more downside potential for oil prices).

► The ongoing uncertainty surrounding the US elections and the likely rising expectations of a Trump victory will also limit the USD's potential for correction.

► McDonald's opens unchanged (or even slightly higher) after initially losing some ground in pre-market trading following another earnings report that showed a slowdown. The world's largest fast-food chain reported a decline in global comparable sales for the second consecutive quarter. The 1.5% decline in the third quarter was mainly due to weak international markets for McDonald's (outside the U.S.), particularly in France, the U.K., the Middle East and China. In the U.S., sales in the third quarter rose only slightly (by 0.3%).

► I don't like the numbers and I don't like the valuation of McDonald's. Despite the recent heavy losses, we are selling the early gains, that are currently pushing McDonald's above $300 - now even above ~$302 - which is a 5-day high (after the e-coli sell-off). We are positioning us SHORT above $302 and expect the early strong gains to NOT hold.

► We closed our DAX SHORT very well on Friday and are now re-entering the DAX 160+ points above our closing price. Mercedes-Benz and Porsche came under pressure as early as Friday, as there were further signs of a slowdown in sales in China and Chinese competition continues to increase (especially in the world's most important car market = China). Chinese brands are also increasingly entering the luxury sector and are also seeking to gain more market share in Europe.

► Covestro and Lufthansa tomorrow and especially BASF and Volkswagen on Wednesday offer downside potential. VW is in deep trouble and trying to slash costs amid eroding sales. VW is planning widespread layoffs, pay cuts and even (three) plant closures in Germany. Germany continues to suffer from incompetent leadership more concerned with itself than trying to revive the ailing German economy or rolling back some of the "reforms" that have severely damaged Germany's competitiveness.

► Significantly lower oil prices, a reduced risk premium after Israel's limited attack on Iran, and price gains in New York have pushed the DAX higher (and back near the day's highs) – we SHORTEN. We are also seeing more profit-taking in New York – particularly in the cyclical sector (which led the gains in the pre-market).

► The important German consumer sentiment data (tomorrow) will continue to be very bearish.

► European stocks trended lower, mirroring the cautious tone from Asia as traders await major economic reports and the UK budget. The Stoxx 600 fell sharply (-0.8%) with losses in markets like London (-0.35%), Frankfurt (-0.55%), Paris (-1.1%). Spain's GDP expanded by 0.8% in Q3, while inflation rose to 1.8% YoY. France’s GDP also grew 1.3% in Q3, though other indicators were mixed: Norway saw retail sales decline by 0.3% in September, while the Netherlands reported lower business confidence. Volkswagen’s Q3 earnings showed a 64% YoY drop, putting additional pressure on the automotive sector in Europe.

► US equity futures are little changed as investors digested Alphabet’s strong earnings, which saw shares climb over 5%, contrasting with AMD’s 8% decline due to lackluster revenue guidance. The Nasdaq reached a record close despite mixed data and analyst caution around tech earnings volatility. Markets await the release of earnings reports from Microsoft and Meta later today. I don't even know what to say anymore... 🤪 I would say that a 92-93% success rate is actually almost impossible with over 100 short term trades - even more so with the way we trade as we trade all asset classes, go roughly balanced SHORT or LONG and never close for micro profits (>0.5% average movement of the underlying asset). In addition, we have a really difficult market at the moment which makes this accomplishment even more ridiculous.

We are now at 94.9% ‼️ (almost 95%) success rate or only 6 losing trades out of 117 (in the 5 week period - 19.09 - 22.10). This is so far beyond what I would believe is even achievable - that I assume we will probably not reach this level for a long time / possibly never again - or that it actually quite likely has never been reached in intra-day trading before by anyone (> 100 trades).

Congratulations 👏 Share it with your friends and family - no-one can ever take this away from US again. We are making trading history here - together. Thank you for your daily motivation and the many messages (and sorry for being a bad responder).

► We see the Nasdaq at a daily high shortly before the close and the earnings reports from Alphabet and AMD and only around 200 points from the ATH.

► Earnings optimism pushed tech stocks way up today. While we had expected some gains (and traded them successfully), we see that the Nasdaq is now up 1.2%, which is a significant outperformance given the overall mixed markets.

► Lower oil prices have also boosted the growth sector - although, as we expected, oil prices have NOT rebounded for the time being.

► A lot of optimism is already priced in, so it is difficult for tech stocks to go much higher after the Alphabet / AMD earnings report - also because chip stocks are outperforming today (Nvidia, Broadcom and also AMD etc. are up significantly today).

► I believe that Alphabet's earnings report will meet expectations but also highlight some risks - which could be received rather negatively overall. While Google Cloud revenue is likely to have increased between 11 and 14% again, we are likely to see signs of slower revenue growth. Alphabet has seen some difficult upheavals both externally (e.g. several antitrust cases related to the search and advertising business) and internally (e.g. changes in the management team). It was a pretty turbulent quarter overall - and it's unlikely that Alphabet had a stellar quarter / significant improvement in monetizing AI efforts.

► We are going SHORT here with a slightly smaller position than normal.

► After a strong start to the week, Wall Street fell again yesterday and the broad US market fell further today. Investors are on the sidelines ahead of the busiest phase of this quarter's earnings season, when the first of the ‘Magnificent Seven,’ the big tech giant Alphabet, reports later today (along with Visa, which gives an indication of the strength of the US consumer, and AMD, one of the most important chip companies).

► We expect slight overall gains in early US trading and thus a slight recovery in tech stocks in advance of the big tech earnings numbers – however, gains will remain limited. Investors are optimistic that US companies (especially the large US tech companies) will once again be able to meet or exceed earnings expectations – US banks have made a positive start to the earnings season. Overall, however, we saw mixed results – especially from European companies.

► Growth stocks remain under pressure as government bond yields continue to rise and the USD also points to further strength. The oil price has also reduced its losses somewhat and is no longer providing a tailwind for growth stocks.

► The rising expectations that Donald Trump will win the US presidential race could provide additional support for equities (which can also be seen in the Bitcoin, which has gained in the last few days and rose above $71K for the first time since June).

► We continue to see mixed markets (and we are also positioned mixed, as we still hold a SHORT position in the DAX and Tesla). It's best to work with a pending order here and take the next mini-dip.

After our success rate of over 94% - excitement, today was actually a unspectacular day, with most of the movement taking place in the early Asian trading (even Asian pre-market) and investors acting very cautiously ahead of the important earnings reports due later in the week and some key US data reports.

It was the right decision not to overtrade today - and, among other things, to stay away from oil for the time being (very sentiment-driven) - but we could have traded the dips in gold better. I was too cautious with our pending order yesterday - you can tighten your pending order. You can also set a not-too-wide TP for our EUR/USD position and the TP for our DAX position about 100 points below the after-hours close. Our AMZN position closed slightly in the money, almost break-even - although most of you had a better initial entry. We also see my Nasdaq position - which should actually have been closed on Friday - our initial entry was in the end out of the money - our overall position (thanks to our excellent re-entry), however, even with this suboptimal closing in the money.

Our positions in Nvidia and Amazon are still trading at the upper end of our entry range (= are slightly in profit). We are closing our Amazon position now / soon, as we want to reduce our overall LONG positioning. We can stay LONG in Nvidia for the time being (but set a not too wide TP).

We are giving Tesla more room to fall further. If your TP has already been hit, you can re-enter at a slightly higher price and stay SHORT a little longer (2/3 trade size).

We generally see increasing profit-taking in New York and mixed markets. Higher yields are weighing on the growth sector. Our position in the Nasdaq 100 has reached the TP - if you are still in, you can close even better with TP ✅ @: 20367.70 - but it is / or rather was a good close near 20400 or 20350 on Friday.

We generally see cautious trading with now strongly reduced trading volume.

We see the profit-taking we expected at the NYSE opening. Most traders fell into the FOMO trap at the NYSE opening. We see profit-taking in the chip sector in particular.
