As Biden team suggests there can be no alternative, DNC rules provide a path

"Joe Biden will be the Democratic Party's nominee for president," the talking points read, according to a copy provided by a source who received them. "Any other discussion is a distraction and 'brokered' conventions are a thing of the past."

They go on to say that "the only person eligible for nomination is Joe Biden."

But as the party’s rules stand now, according to three people who are familiar with them and the DNC’s 2022 document outlining procedures for the convention, there is a process for replacing Biden if he voluntarily chooses to step aside after the Aug. 22 conclusion of the convention. His nomination is expected to occur before that, in a virtual roll call of state delegations in late July or early August. A date for that is expected to be set by the convention's rules committee at a July 19 meeting.

The Biden campaign wants everyone to think “chaos would reign” if the president stepped aside, said one person familiar with the DNC process. “Thats why they’re not admitting there’s a rule.”

Rumor mill is CRANKING.
Many feel Kamala is needed on top of the ticket in order to access all the money already raised so far. Many in that camp feel Joe should get out of the way NOW, because a few months of President Harris elevates her and gives her the best chance she'll ever have of facing Trump.

There's a very real chance of Trump's New York conviction being tossed out because the prosecution used evidence at trial (Trump's tweets WHILE President) that are now totally immune and should not have been used. I’m flattered, Truth Hammer.

I’m not sure if this is their actual document, but the series of states in this grouping without any real white whales in it (CA, WA, IL, MD etc) leads me to believe someone put some thought into it.

My numbers for fair 2020 had Trump close but just off in NH, NM, NE-2, and ME statewide, damn near even or slightly ahead in MN, and nothing closer than 6.4% for AZ, GA, MI, PA, WI, or NV.

Those numbers on the high end are exactly what I’d expect. I am not confident NM, MN, CO are winnable for Trump thanks to Automatic Voter Registration, excess mail voting, and ballot harvesting, and too many white libs.
