Zoomers appear to be way to the left in general, while right wing zoomers have no “center right/moderate core” that they once had before. In other words, those who would have otherwise been moderate conservatives 20-40 years ago, are now fairly right wing or even far-right thanks to social media.

They also happen to be generally more politically literate than the general public so despite them being a minority, they still manage to punch above their weight, although never IRL. I’ll eventually write a Substack about it or even record a YouTube video. Very interesting stuff.

Totalitarian and Authoritarian countries in Europe had practically emerged only among Catholic and Orthodox Nations.

Neither Britain nor the US nor any other majority Protestant country in Europe post the enlightenment had any regime or ideological framework which emphasized the power of the state or authoritarian rule, the necessity of collectivism or the need for revolution over evolution.

Catholic and Orthodox nations on the other hand were ruled by authoritarian regimes and contained all the major bloody revolutions of the last couple of centuries within themselves. Ex: Revolutionary France + Napoleon III, Germany/Austria-Hungary (including Fascist Austria and Nazi Germany), Italian Fascism and the Risorgimento, Czarist Russia, Romanian and Hungarian Fascism, Pilsudskiism, the Spanish and Portuguese dictatorial states and finally the Soviet Union and its satellites.

Continental European philosophy is rich with totalitarian and collectivist thinkers such as: Rousseau, Saint-Simon, Comte, Hegel, Ernst Haeckel, Marx, Lenin, Gentile and Dugin

Anglo philosophy on the other hand is rich with thinkers like Herbert Spencer, Isiah Berlin and John Stuart Mill. Almost the diametrical opposite.

I’m not really taking a side in either direction, but we as Europeans are a lot more different than we think we are

🇺🇦🥴: Ukraine's top general Valery Zaluzhny is electorally more popular than Zelensky. He is practically the only viable alternative to Zelensky's rule much like Evgeny Prigozhin was the only actual oppositional force to Putin.
