The dysfunction becomes load-bearing.
The British didn't move a billion Indians to London. They ran an empire. Invested from a distance. Governed from a distance. And when a territory turned ungovernable, they could withdraw, because the mess was over there. It never came home.
That's the version of globalism that produces actual alignment. When people need your capital, your markets, your security, they have a real incentive to meet your standards. Not to elect officials who abolish them.
Modern multiculturalism has no exit clause. Empire always did.
