I honestly didn't expect Russia's diplomacy to be this powerful and uncompromising with Trump. Zelensky cucked out even before shit really hit the fan, while Putin became accustomed to threats post 2014. That being said, the secondary component of the negotiations is not Ukraine but Iran and there is progress on that front.

I do remember the days when everyone was obsessing over gay marriage and how homosexuals are the most oppressed people on Earth. The transgender “character” was not unlocked just yet and I vaguely knew freaks like that even existed, but I could not imagine that one day they’ll be more numerous than then the OG freaks. There are two sides to Russia that have defined her historically. Russia that is a European power, and Russia that is forging unique path of development which is typically defined in opposition to the West.
First Russia is co-operative, culturally rich and friendly, while the second side of Russia is hostile, repressive and negating of the West. In the Soviet Union it was about spreading Marxism, now it's about fighting wokeness, being based and respecting Chechens. First side is embracing, second side is contrary.
2022 was a triumph for the second side of Russia. It pushed Russia out of the Western orbit, made her even closer to China, expended BRICS and open itself to other non-European influence. However, the Russian culture, laws and rhetoric became more brutal and repressive as a result.
The aftermath of 2022 has greatly worsened the Western perception of Russia as a country, and consequently relations and trade between them are at an old time low. However this did not kill the Russian longing for a civilizational force that first set it in motion in 862.
Recently, Trump's attempts to normalize relations with Russia have led to Putin agreeing to a US-Ukraine proposed 30 day peace plan mark the first victory for the anti-anti Civilizational part of Russia.
This suggests to me that at least some of the motivation behind Russia wanting to be outside of the West, is rooted in resentment of and fear of exclusion by the West. Putin alludes to this in his interview with Tucker Carlson, albeit without openly admitting it. Russia longs to be part of the West but is denied entry, compelling it to forge its own sphere where it can assert confidence. Had these dynamics not been at play, I doubt we would have arrived at this point—and by that, I mean developments long predating 2022.

Когда только начиналась война, про-российские военные "эксперты" вроде Подаляка и прочих выдавали ватный коуп в качестве анализа военный обстановки. "Враг разбит. СВО идет точно по графику" и так далее. Сейчас же наблюдается тоже самое только с обратной стороны, и вся это перемога в большом количестве создается российскими блогерами которые совершили тарас-переход. Если считать захват около 100 квадратных километров в Суджи (возможно самый интенсивный участок на данный момент) путем забрасывания в тыл пару сотен разведчиков для сотворение паники за полтора два дня провальной операции, то почему же ВСУ отступили с тех позиций которые были над трубой до момента вылазки?
