The takes surrounding Kirk’s killing are so painfully embarrassing that they prove one thing beyond doubt: we do need some gatekeeping on the Right.
Midwits end up getting radicalized to the left because they run into internet lunatics like “Flat Earth Dave” insisting that Charlie Kirk died because he was a Jewish Jesus 2.0? and assume that spectacle pretty much sums up the Right's thinking.
The optics have never been worse.
Here are my thoughts on the Charlie Kirk Memorial in Arizona.
On one hand, I like it. I like that 100,000+ patriots showed up to show their support and love for Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk had an impact on us all, whether we like it or not. He was a good Christian man and a loving father. So, I really loved that TPUSA made sure to bring hundreds of thousands of patriots together to mourn him.
On the other hand, the rot of the GOP is obvious. It was a shameless spectacle of ostentatious slop to promote partisan GOP politics, but with the tagline of "Charlie would've wanted this." Trump and the GOP stood on the grave of this dead father, in front of his grieving wife and children, to pat themselves on the back on how awesome they are.
Pretty crazy that Tucker Carlson and a bunch of mainstream conservatives are now “naming the Jews” thanks to Candace Owens’ Q-pills, but still won’t engage with Nick Fuentes.
