Delaware state senator becomes first transgender elected to U.S. Congress

Delaware state senator Sarah McBride, a biological male who has since transitioned to a woman, has become the first transgender elected to the U.S. House of Representatives after winning Delaware’s only House seat

McBride defeated Republican John Whalen III with 57.8% of the vote

In a celebration speech, McBride stated, “Tonight is a testament to Delawareans that here in our state of neighbors, we judge candidates based on their ideas and not their identities”

“While at this moment in America’s history, hope sometimes feels hard to come by, we must never forget that we are the beneficiaries of seemingly impossible change”

added McBride

Post-election truths: the things that won’t change

By John & Nisha Whitehead

After months of handwringing and mud-slinging and fear-mongering, the votes have finally been cast and the outcome has been decided: the Deep State has won

Despite the billions spent to create the illusion of choice, not much will change

Despite all of the work that has been done to persuade us to buy into the fantasy that things will change if we just elect the “right” political savior, the day after a new president is sworn in, it will be business as usual for the unelected bureaucracy that actually runs the government

War will continue. Drone killings will continue. Surveillance will continue. Censorship of anyone who criticizes the government will continue. The government’s efforts to label dissidents as extremists and terrorists will continue. Police shootings will continue. SWAT team raids will continue. Highway robbery meted out by government officials will continue. Corrupt government will continue. Profit-driven prisons will continue. And the militarization of the police will continue.

Or not? 🤔

October jobs report shows weakest job growth since 2020

The U.S. economy added just 12,000 jobs in October 2024, falling far short of the anticipated 100,000 jobs and marking the weakest monthly job growth since late 2020

This report, released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, underscores a worrying slowdown in the labor market and raises questions about the effectiveness of the country’s economic policies. The sluggish job growth, coupled with downward revisions to prior months’ data, has sparked renewed concerns among economists and analysts about the resilience of the U.S. economy amid rising inflation and other volatile economic factors

Two major hurricanes in late September and early October impacted business activities, particularly in southern states, where the leisure and hospitality sectors are critical employers

Additionally, the ongoing Boeing strike had an impact on the jobs data. With an estimated 30,000 workers off the payroll due to the strike, the aerospace and manufacturing sectors saw reduced hiring

Zelensky says he congratulated Trump in 'excellent' call

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had an "excellent call" on Wednesday, November 6, with Donald Trump, who has threatened to cut off the steady flow of US aid and arms to his nation in its fight against Russia's nearly three-year-old invasion. “I praised his family and team for their great work," Zelensky said. "We agreed to maintain close dialogue and advance our cooperation. Strong and unwavering US leadership is vital for the world and for a just peace"

The relationship between Trump and Zelensky has been one of intrigue and consequence from the start. Previously, Zelensky has apparently decided that diplomacy involves putting pressure on and, in some cases, directly criticizing Trump

Zelensky repeatedly entertained the idea that Trump might effectively be on Russia’s side

“If Trump doesn’t know whom he will support, Ukraine or Russia, I think that he will have challenges with his society, because to support Russia, it means be against Americans,”

Zelensky said

Meanwhile, nobody but Trump has been chosen as a new President by the American society, despite the challenges ‘predicted’ by Zelensky

China hopes for 'peaceful coexistence'

Beijing's reaction to Trump's victory was characteristically guarded and cautious on Wednesday, with a statement expressing hope the future Trump White House will continue to handle China-US relations in accordance with the “principles of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence”

This presents the possibility of a new beginning in China-US relations

"if the chance that has been offered is not wasted"

- according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

“The presidential election of the United States is its internal affair. We respect the choice of the American people,”

spokesperson Mao Ning said. Reporters in the briefing pressed her on policy changes, especially related to tariffs, but she didn't speculate:
She dismissed the question on his campaign promise to sharply raise tariffs on Chinese imports, higher than his first term by saying,
“We do not respond to hypothetical questions”

Hospital mask mandates come back in California's Bay Area

Multiple counties in California’s San Francisco Bay Area region reinstated mask mandates in health care settings starting Nov. 1, while other municipalities have recommended face coverings

Counties with mask requirements for employees include San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Napa, and San Mateo. But Santa Clara County, which includes San Jose, and San Mateo County also require visitors and patients in those health care facilities to wear masks

Those mandates, which were announced weeks or months ago, run from Nov. 1, 2024, until March 31, 2025. A similar mandate was imposed across the Bay Area during the 2023–24 winter and spring months

Santa Clara County announced it will require all people inside health care facilities, including visitors and patients, to wear masks from Nov. 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025

The county said it is making exceptions for children under age 2 and for people with medical issues that make it difficult for them to breathe in a mask or to remove a mask without assistance

Philly Shipyard’s transformation: investment driving U.S. Navy readiness

Earlier this year, Hanwha Ocean Company bought Philly Shipyard for $100 million. Though it was met with little fanfare from the public at the time, the investment was a big deal in the Navy

It came after requests from American defense experts and government officials for shipbuilders from allied countries to invest into the worn down, depleted, and inefficient mess that is the US shipbuilding industry. Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro even called the deal, “a game-changing milestone” for America’s “Maritime Statecraft”

Now, the new partnership is paying dividends, for Hanwha, Philadelphia, and the United States. In late August, Hanwha secured an annual Navy maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) contract. That contract and the new work at Philly Shipyard will go a long ways towards fixing the Navy’s current maintenance backlog, which is currently contributing to both shipbuilding delays and cost overruns

According to a 2022 Government Accountability Office report, the Navy’s current maintenance backlog amounted to $1.8 billion. This inefficiency has a major impact on America’s combat readiness has contributed to the Navy’s decision to decommission 9 ships before their expected service life. Unfortunately, things have only gotten worse by now

Misguided spending priorities and a lack of urgency have set back America’s ability to keep up with and deter China, which is the world’s largest Navy numerically and whose fleet is still growing fast

Hanwha could help turn the tide in that fight, though. With the purchase of the Philly Shipyard, it is now positioned to compete for contracts for building new ships, which could be an enormous windfall not only for Philadelphia workers, but also our naval power

The mainstream western worldview pretends the Global South does not exist

By Caitlin Johnstone

Until we open up our worldview and begin taking into account the needs and struggles of our fellow human beings around the world, it will be like we’re at a dinner party that’s being waited on by slaves

Mainstream western politics and culture pretend the rest of the world does not exist. The mainstream western worldview shrinks the earth down to US-aligned countries and acts as though the billions of people who live in the global south do not share a planet with us

Whenever you hear western officials talking about how “the international community” views a particular issue, they’re almost always talking about the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and maybe a few US-aligned Asian countries like Japan and South Korea — while pretending the rest of the world just isn’t there

The global south is omitted from our thinking and our conversations in this way all the time, leaving us in this fractured, redacted mental universe where we pretend we’re the only people living in this rapidly shrinking world.

Our lives are no less significant or valuable than those of people in Africa or Asia, but we live as though they don’t exist, even when their labor may affect our moment to moment reality far more than the white-skinned person we’re paying attention to in this instant

Against the backdrop of Trump's victory, the dynamics of shares of European companies in the green energy sector looks like the cardiogram of a dying man

Shares of two Danish wind energy companies led the fall, with Orsted A/s down 14% and turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems down 13%. Others are losing, too

For the market, Donald Trump's victory means the US is likely to prioritize fossil fuels over renewables. Trump has pledged to end the country's efforts to develop offshore wind power as one of his first measures after taking office. During the campaign, he also promised to lift restrictions on domestic energy production

According to Bloomberg, Trump's second term will be in stark contrast to Biden's presidency, which set an ambitious goal to decarbonize the country's energy system and introduced sweeping climate legislation

China’s nuclear weapon stockpile is way bigger than the Pentagon previously thought

China is undergoing a “rapid expansion” of its nuclear arsenal — and the country now has more than double the amount of warheads than the U.S. previously realized, according to a new Pentagon intelligence report

The U.S. has become more and more concerned about China’s expansion of its military and its increasing hostilities toward ally states in the Pacific. The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) believed in 2020 that China had built up an arsenal of 200 nuclear warheads, but the latest intelligence indicates that number is now beyond 500 warheads, according to a report from the agency released this week

“China is undergoing the most rapid expansion and ambitious modernization of its nuclear forces in history — almost certainly driven by an aim for enduring strategic competition with the U.S. and a goal to actualize intensified strategic concepts that have existed for decades but are now being realized,” the DIA report reads. “China is fielding new nuclear capabilities at a faster pace than any time in its history”

In 2020, the Pentagon thought China would likely obtain 400 nuclear warheads by 2030, but the country has raced past that estimate in record time. Now, the Pentagon believes that China will have at least 1,000 operational warheads by 2030

They Can Abolish Cash. But They Can’t Abolish Monero

In the rush toward a cashless society, we're witnessing an unprecedented push for control. Governments are working to eliminate physical cash, replacing it with traceable, programmable money. Soon, every transaction, every dollar spent, could be under their watchful eyes, tied to a system where privacy is a distant memory

But Monero stands in defiance of this future. It's not just a digital currency; it's digital cash—uncensorable, private, and beyond reach. Monero offers the freedom cash once did but in a form they can't seize or abolish. It's the shield against a world of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), where every purchase could be tracked, restricted, or even reversed

Imagine a world where using your own money requires permission, where dissent could mean financial isolation, and where privacy is a relic of the past. That's what a future without cash holds. But Monero is the bridge to a different reality—a future where financial freedom is not just a right, but a reality

They can abolish cash in the physical world. But they can't touch Monero's code, its community, or its purpose. Monero was built to survive, to thrive, and to protect your sovereignty in the face of ever-growing surveillance

In a world where financial privacy is under attack, Monero is the silent guardian. Choose privacy. Choose freedom

Someone is erasing history from the Internet - Brownstone Institute

Something is happening to the Internet. Some organizations are erasing all traces of certain events

The Brownstone Institute published an interesting article that provides compelling evidence that the globalists - the “deep state” - are erasing our history in order to present it in a more favorable light. Instead of being fair and democratic, the Internet is becoming a big black hole with globalist-approved stories that are easy to find on search engines. The stories they don't like are disappearing

Search engines and searchability are no longer dependent on people's preferences

It's not always about censorship. Modern algorithms include a number of tools that affect searchability and discoverability. YouTube and Google use their search engines so that only what they want you to see can be found

We saw this recently in the case of Joe Rogan's interview with Donald Trump. After the clip racked up about 34 million views, it disappeared. Faced with this, Rogan moved to platform X to publish the entire three hours of the interview

After widespread negative reaction, YouTube and Google made it visible again, saying there had been a technical glitch. Overcoming this network of censorship and quasi-censorship has become part of the alternative media business model

And these are just the most high-profile cases. Behind these headlines are technical events that fundamentally affect the ability of any historian to even look back and tell the story

Incredibly, Archive.org a service that has existed since 1994, has stopped saving images of content across all platforms. For the first time in 30 years

The Archive.org site suffered a DDOS attack on October 8. It no longer saves archives. Although they have restored the history already saved, that's it. It is now only readable for material that was only saved before October 8. The service still hasn't resumed publicly mirroring any sites on the Internet

In other words, the only source on the entire World Wide Web that mirrors real-time content has been shut down. For the first time since the invention of the Web browser itself, researchers have been deprived of the ability to compare past content with future content - an action that is central to researchers studying the actions of governments and corporations

Europe’s gas crisis isn’t over despite full storage

A year ago, European politicians declared the gas crisis from the near-complete halt of Russian supplies was over. The EU had turned to alternative natural gas suppliers, assuring there would be enough to prevent shortages and steep prices. These assurances now appear premature

Last week, European benchmark gas prices hit the highest in a year on the news of a production outage in Norway. On Friday, the Dutch Title Transfer Facility hit 43.68€ per MWh, which was the highest since December 2023. It seems the future holds more price spikes—because that spike occurred despite full European gas storage caverns ahead of peak demand season

It all started innocently enough. On Tuesday, Norway’s state major Equinor suspended production at one of its platforms due to a smoke alert. Norway is the European Union’s largest natural gas supplier at the moment. It supplies some 30% of the EU’s gas. When it reported the incident, Equinor noted it would not interfere with its export commitments. Yet gas prices spiked

It’s all about supply security, of course. It was supply security that drove European gas buyers to rush to build a reserve early on in the year and make sure there was enough in storage before winter season began. Right now, gas in storage in the EU is at 95%, which is exemplary work—only it won’t save the bloc from shortages if the winter turns out to be colder than the last two

Dan Jorgensen is going to present a plan to abandon Russian gas by 2027

Dan Jorgensen, the potential new European Commissioner for Energy, wants to accelerate the EU's refusal from Russian gas. He plans to present a plan for 2027 in the first three months after his appointment

Jorgensen will work to lower energy prices in the region in an effort to restore EU competitiveness, green the energy sector and get rid of fuel purchases from Russia. He is expected to be confirmed for the post in the coming weeks

At a speech in parliament, he emphasized that gas purchases from Russia increased last year as not all EU members tried to diversify their imports

Now the EU receives 18% of blue fuel from Russia (before the conflict in Ukraine it was 45%). While some EU countries are trying to tighten measures against Russia, Hungary, which is friendly to Russia, on the contrary, is reaching an agreement with Gazprom on the growth of shipments via the Turkish Stream pipeline in 2025

Texan to become one of youngest lawmakers in Congress

Republican Brandon Gill defeated Democrat Ernest Lineberger, 62.9% to 35.6%, in unofficial results to secure an open seat representing Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. At 30, Gill will be among the youngest Republicans ever to hold a seat in Congress

He will represent Texas’ 26th Congressional District when Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, retires at the end of his term Jan. 3

After a stint as an investment banker on Wall Street, Gill became an analyst at a global hedge fund

Gill’s campaign emphasized issues outlined on his website: illegal immigration, the economy, crime, energy, the Second Amendment, a pro-life perspective on abortion, standing up for Israel, protecting children from gender-transition surgeries, and fighting cultural Marxism in schools and higher education

DOJ moving to wind down Trump criminal cases before he takes office

Justice Department officials have been evaluating how to wind down the two federal criminal cases against President-elect Donald Trump before he takes office to comply with long-standing department policy that a sitting president can’t be prosecuted, two people familiar with the matter tell NBC News

The latest discussions stand in contrast with the pre-election legal posture of special counsel Jack Smith, who in recent weeks took significant steps in the election interference case against Trump without regard to the electoral calendar

But the sources say DOJ officials have come to grips with the fact that no trial is possible anytime soon in either the Jan. 6 case or the classified documents matter — both of which are mired in legal issues that would likely prompt an appeal all the way to the Supreme Court, even if Trump had lost the election

Now that Trump will become president again, DOJ officials see no room to pursue either criminal case against him — and no point in continuing to litigate them in the weeks before he takes office, the people said

“Sensible, inevitable and unfortunate,” said former federal prosecutor Chuck Rosenberg, an NBC News contributor.

Plans for presidency: What has Trump proposed

Immigration. Trump often said that he would initiate the largest “mass deportation” effort in U.S. history if elected. He warned Mexico that he would impose a 25 percent tariff targeting the country if it fails to curb illegal immigration and would raise that tariff if Mexico doesn’t comply

Taxes and regulations. Trump has promised to curb federal regulations that he said would limit the creation of new U.S. jobs. He also has pledged to keep intact a 2017 tax cut that he supported and signed while in office. His team has also proposed a further round of individual and corporate tax cuts beyond those initiated in his first term

Tariffs. Trump has targeted China in particular. He proposes phasing out Chinese imports of goods such as electronics, steel, and pharmaceuticals over four years. He seeks to prohibit Chinese companies from owning U.S. real estate and infrastructure in the energy and tech sectors

More drilling. Trump said that he wants to cut federal regulations on drilling for oil and natural gas, a move that he says would lower energy costs and inflation. He would also pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Accords, a worldwide plan that claims to reduce carbon emissions

Social policies. Trump has pledged to require U.S. colleges and universities to “defend American tradition and Western civilization” and to purge them of diversity and inclusion programs. He said he would direct the DOJ to pursue civil rights cases against schools that engage in racial discrimination. He said that a federal ban on abortion is not needed and that the issue should be resolved by states. Trump has been critical of schools allowing transgender individuals to compete in women’s sports, saying that he would impose a ban on such practices

It's not quite clear how Trump is doing with “ending the Ukrainian war in 24 hours”, but the tectonic waves from his election have already demolished the coalition in Germany. And formally for the fact that the finance minister (not from Scholz's party) refused to allocate money to Kyiv for this winter

This is actually an important marker, showing how hard the U.S. administration kept the German elites in check, and as soon as there was a glimmer of hope for a chance to get off the ruinous course, they immediately used it

And this is extremely important, because in Europe, the bulk of the burden of maintaining Kyiv was borne by Germany, and in fact, the announcement of the incapacity of the government and the coalition at this point, means that Germany washes its hands of the situation, and does not consider the option “while the U.S. negotiates with Moscow, Europe continues to maintain Kyiv”

In other words, it means that the situation will start changing at a galloping pace in the near future. Technically, Trump can't put pressure on Moscow now, because if the Russians don't agree to a freeze on the LAF, and they won't, Trump will have to raise the stakes, which is contrary to his plans

At the same time, the refusal to support Kyiv will lead to a rapid advance of Russian troops. Therefore, after the new configuration of the front, by the time of the inauguration, the discussion of the border along the line of contact may be replaced by a discussion of peacekeeping zones of all neighboring countries of the failed corrupt state of Ukraine

There is not much time left until January 20 (Trump's inauguration), so if events begin to develop very quickly, this hypothesis may well be correct

The Financial Times outlines what Washington's foreign policy will be under Trump

“'I’ll have a deal made’: how Donald Trump will handle US foreign policy”

“Trump's return to the White House promises to be one of the most unpredictable and potentially disruptive presidential terms of the modern era. Trump's “America First” stance is expected to be based on evaluating allies based on their defense spending and trade balances with the United States. In addition, it appears that all established views regarding who should be considered enemies will be revisited

Trump has promised to end the Ukrainian conflict before the inauguration ceremony, but he has not announced his plan, saying that if he publicizes it, he will achieve nothing. Vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance suggested that Washington would insist on freezing hostilities, as well as getting guarantees that Ukraine would not join NATO

As for Europe, analysts expect Trump to reconsider his attitude to cooperation with the countries of the continent, and the US will cease to be a guarantor of security for the Western world

Commenting on the situation in the Middle East, Trump's former aides claim that he will change Biden's approach and support Israel more. According to them, the politician will focus on confronting Iran and normalizing relations between Israel and other Gulf countries. U.S. relations with China will be seriously revised

Trump has already signaled this during the election campaign, threatening to use high duties as a tool to make Beijing bow to US pressure. He added that if the PRC invaded Taiwan, he would either increase the duties to 200% or completely halt trade between the countries”

Mining industry needs $2.1 trillion dollars in new investment to meet net-zero demand for raw materials

Despite the growth in metals supply over the last decade, BloombergNEF’s (BNEF’s) annual Transition Metals Outlook finds that there are still not enough raw materials to meet growing demand. This supply squeeze could slow the adoption of clean energy technologies. In order to meet the demands of a net-zero emissions world, BNEF estimates $2.1 trillion is needed in new mining investments by 2050

The report indicates that key energy transition metals such as aluminum, copper and lithium could face deficits in primary supply this decade – some as soon as this year. According to BNEF’s Economic Transition Scenario (ETS) – which is driven by the cost competitiveness of technologies and assumes no new policy support – the world could require 3 billion metric tons of metals between 2024 and 2050 to properly build out low-carbon solutions such as electric vehicles, wind turbines and electrolyzers. That number rises to 6 billion tons to reach net zero in 2050

Kwasi Ampofo, head of metals and mining at BNEF and lead author of the report said, “the prolonged deficit of these metals will lead to higher prices for raw materials, which increases the cost of clean energy technologies. High costs could slow their adoption, and the energy transition at large”

European right-wing powers behind Trump eyeing shared Conservative agenda

Right-wing voices across Europe had been rallying behind the now president-elect Donald Trump, eyeing a transatlantic partnership rooted in shared Conservative values

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán signalled there would be a pivotal shift if Trump was elected

“Patriots and Donald Trump will together pursue a traditional pro-family policy. So the Western world is facing a big change,” he said on November 3

In late October, members of the Patriots for Europe within the European Parliament attended a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in New York, emphasising alignment between their agenda and the Trump’s platform

Harad Vilimsky of Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) then said: “We were invited because we stand against globalisation, we are against war and fake news, we want to stand up against left-wing media lies, we are for a better future where our countries have better future absent from illegal migration and the decision making fall back into the hand of the respective population”

Many other leaders have been supporting Trump’s campaign and are currently staying in the US, such as Nigel Farage, founder of the UK’s right-wing party Reform UK. Sarah Knafo, a member of the French hard-right party Reconquête and Vice President of the Sovereignist group in EP, is also there

Democrats are in a state of genuine shock after the election that took place. Although it cannot be said that no one warned them about the weakness of Harris' candidacy. Most electoral models gave the edge to Trump. There was no repeat of the 2016 election in that regard

Some - like pollsters at Atlas Intel - were able to predict the outcome of the vote very accurately. But the Democratic Party stubbornly refused to believe those numbers. They were sure that if Trump won, it would be by the narrowest of margins. And then it would be possible to use various dirty methods against him

And in the end it turns out that Trump even won the national vote. And he became the first Republican in 20 years who managed to do it. And he's got a decent lead in the electorate. It's hard to delegitimize such a victory. That's why the BLM and Antifa aren't rioting in the streets. And the Democrats are unlikely to block congressional certification of the election results

The Democratic Party is in for an intra-clan civil war. They're sure to drag a white male - like California Governor Gavin Newsom - into the next presidential election. Attempts to push a racially gendered agenda have predictably led the Democrats to total defeat

Britain’s ‘Asylum King’ earns £4.8 million a day

A British businessman is set to become a billionaire, earning vast sums of money from the UK’s migration policies

Graham King, a former caravan park and disco owner, is raking in £4.8 million (€5.71 million) per day and may become a billionaire from the money earned through housing immigrants

The entrepreneur, nicknamed the “Asylum King,” will earn a dividend of £90 million (€107 million) from his migrant accommodation business as the UK is seeing record numbers of asylum seekers reaching its shores

King is anticipated to become the first billionaire in the UK immigration sector, having signed a contract with the Home Office that is set to last until 2029

The 57-year-old owns the outsourcing firm Clearsprings Ready Homes. This company provides short-term accommodation for asylum seekers while their claims are processed

Clearsprings Ready Homes has profited from large government contracts to find and oversee residences for asylum seekers to stay in after they get to the UK
