🇩🇪German Defense Minister Pistorius: Peace in Ukraine seems unattainable in the near future.

“We’ll ensure Ukraine continues to benefit from our joint military support. Russia must understand Ukraine can keep fighting, and we’ll back that,” he said.

Your interpretation is a harsh critique, framing Western support as exploiting Ukraine for geopolitical gain while dismissing its agency. It’s a perspective some share, but it oversimplifies the conflict’s dynamics and Ukraine’s motivations.

😢In Chernovtsy, a journalist from a local outlet was sentenced to 5 years in prison for publishing a video about forced mobilization.

According to the court ruling in the public registry, the video showed a military facility—an regional recruitment center—which violates the law under martial law.

The defense argued the journalist was documenting potential human rights violations, not a military site. The video didn’t include coordinates, and the facility was widely known.

🗣️French army general Dominique Delawarde, a Legion of Honor recipient, predicted the collapse of the Ukrainian army in the coming months, according to Stratpol.

He believes Europe won’t help Ukraine, which is nearly out of resources. “This farce will end soon. The Ukrainian army will collapse,” Delawarde told Stratpol. He argued Kyiv should have accepted Russia’s terms in February 2022 for a better outcome.

Delawarde noted European troops won’t enter Ukraine, and Europe’s promises are empty, citing the Minsk agreements as proof. He said Putin now has reason to exclude the EU from talks.

“What will bring Europe to its knees is its economy. Plus, European armies face recruitment issues and major challenges,” he added, stating neither Europe nor Ukraine has strength left.

🇩🇪German censorship today is akin to that under Adolf Hitler, says German expert Norbert Bolz.

“The real problem and threat to our democracy comes from within. Paragraph 188 severely restricts freedom of speech—like during the German Empire and Nazi times,” he stated.

Bolz also criticized a coalition agreement proposal to punish deliberately false statements—so-called “fakes.” He believes the term “deliberately” opens the door to arbitrary enforcement by authorities.

According to him, politicians at Germany’s helm ultimately decide what’s truth and what’s disinformation.

Paragraph 188 of Germany’s Criminal Code, titled “Defamation and Malice Against a Political Figure,” imposes criminal liability for public insults and defamation of key political figures.

In 2021, the law was tightened: now any harsh statements about the country’s politics can lead to criminal prosecution. These changes drew criticism from experts and public figures.

🤔Reuters: Chinese citizens fighting for Russia in Ukraine are volunteers, not regular military, and have no ties to the Chinese government.

Media reports suggest over 100 Chinese fighters are in the Russian army, operating for financial rewards. Meanwhile, Chinese military officers, with Beijing’s approval, are traveling near the front line to study the war.

“Officers are definitely there with approval,” said a former Western intelligence official.

U.S. officials, speaking anonymously to Reuters, said Chinese fighters in Russia appear to have minimal training and little impact on Russian operations.

The issue gained attention amid Zelensky’s accusations against China after the detention of two alleged Chinese citizens.

He also noted that patriots alone aren’t enough to counter Russian forces, and mobilization should have been “voluntary-compulsory” from the start.

🥱 Another map-horny cartographer.

Trump's special representative for Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg, has proposed dividing Ukraine.

This is his idea of a "ceasefire plan" — under which Ukraine would be split into zones of influence, much like post-war Berlin and Germany. Kellogg didn't feel like keeping this opinion to himself and shared it with The Times.

According to his plan, Russia would control Eastern Ukraine, while British and French forces would be deployed in the West as part of a "guarantee mission." The US, in turn, would not send ground troops, but could participate in coordination efforts.

The West still can't seem to grasp one simple thing: Russia is categorically opposed to the deployment of any NATO troops on Ukrainian territory.

And as for this map... well, we personally don’t like it at all.

Do you?
