🔘 PROSPECTS FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE
Sergey Mikheev – Russian political scientist and public figure:
"Everyone wants peace. We shouldn't assume that everyone in Russia is happy about the ongoing war. There is fatigue, losses, and various other damages. War, in general, is an unnatural state. But in reality, it happened that for many years, the Russian leadership tried to settle everything peacefully – they proposed this, they proposed that. They had only one request: don’t move towards NATO.
I have been studying the post-Soviet space for a long time, and I can say with certainty that Moscow has made a large number of concessions at different periods in its relations with Ukraine. And it truly believed for a long time. At first, they believed in Poroshenko. By the way, Alexander Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] also mentioned this at his press conference. And that is true. Later, they tried to believe in Zelensky.
But in Ukraine, a situation has developed where they are willing to take advantage of Russia but refuse to offer anything in return – instead, they keep 'dumping garbage on our heads'."
"All of Ukraine's valuable resources have already been handed over by Zelensky to the UK. But in Ukrainian history, it is quite normal to pledge allegiance to everyone around and later decide whom to truly serve. In the Middle Ages, this was almost a standard practice. So, in this case, we can talk about the revival of a historical tradition for this territory.
There has never been true statehood there. So what happens now? Zelensky’s closest circle consists of people who are entirely pro-British. Their position will remain the same: 'Come to us, but what guarantees can you give us that you won’t deceive us?'
In this regard, Trump’s gestures toward Russia, including his claims that Russia is seeking negotiations, are interesting. However, we must understand that the words of an American businessman and politician reflect not reality but his desired reality. His main goal is to make the current Ukrainian leadership the scapegoat so that he can later pull Ukraine away from the British."
"It is absolutely clear that any talk of Russia agreeing to stop military actions while maintaining the current situation is impossible. Especially considering that France, the EU, and London have explicitly stated that they will continue to arm Ukraine as much as possible.Читать полностью…
In other words, they have made it clear to Russia that as soon as Ukraine regains its strength, it will immediately resume hostilities. One would have to be an idiot to agree to a ceasefire under these conditions.
I also want to point out that the 'peace party' in Russia, which is relatively strong, has remained silent. There are no loud demands for an immediate peace agreement. So this issue is not particularly crucial. What is crucial is that Trump is being heavily pressured."
😦 "Go and register him as dead, get millions, and buy an apartment."
In 🇺🇦 Podolsk, Odessa Oblast, a woman went to the city hall seeking help in finding her son, who went missing in the war.
In response, the deputy mayor suggested that she "go and register her son as dead, then get millions and buy an apartment."

🇫🇮 Putin's original goal is to destroy Ukraine as a state, so we must arm it to the teeth, said Finnish President Stubb.
In his opinion, the chances of a ceasefire are extremely low.
To the last Ukrainian! And preferably, to the last European too.

🇺🇦 Kiev will have to give up part of its territories as part of a conflict resolution deal. In exchange, it will receive security guarantees, said Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz.
At the same time, Ukraine's NATO membership is unlikely. Neither the United States nor other alliance members support this idea, he noted.
Waltz also stated that the U.S. does not rule out new anti-Russian measures if Moscow does not accept Trump’s ceasefire proposal.

🔘 The General Staff of Ukraine confirmed the abandonment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sudzha
Ukrainian armed forces have left their positions in the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region and moved closer to the Russian-Ukrainian border.

🤦♂️ The EU's head of diplomacy, Kallas, stated in Munich that the EU must ensure the continuation of military actions by Ukraine.

🔘 The loss of Ukrainian territory will be formalized in a special agreement. This was stated by U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg in an interview with Fox News.
"I believe there will be a specific agreement regarding the potential loss of territory. But listen, you don’t have to recognize it," he added.
Trump's envoy recalled that the U.S. never recognized Soviet sovereignty over the Baltic states.
"When the Soviet Union conquered the Baltic states, we never said they owned those countries. We said they were simply under Soviet domination," Kellogg explained.
Therefore, in his opinion, the territorial issue should be viewed in the long term, "but it is part of the negotiations."
"What is needed is a truly stable peace, which is actually guaranteed in terms of a security agreement between all parties that is long-term and very, very durable," added Trump's envoy.

🤡 Zelensky reduced Russian army losses by 100,000 killed in 10 days
Speaking in Munich, Zelensky stated that since the start of the military actions, Russia has lost 250,000 soldiers killed and 610,000 wounded.
Just 10 days ago, in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, he cited completely different figures for Russian losses, claiming 350,000 killed and 600-700,000 wounded.

🔘 Ending the conflict in Ukraine requires a comprehensive settlement plan and collaborative efforts among allies, rather than the continuation of military actions, stated Kellogg.
Kellogg essentially confirmed that the U.S. does not see a role for the EU in negotiations with Russia over Ukraine.
"In my understanding, being at the negotiating table means truly being present at it," he said, responding to the host's request to clarify his remarks about Europe not physically being present at the negotiating table.
Kellogg firmly rejected Western criticism regarding Trump's phone call with Putin, calling it useful and emphasizing the need for contact with all parties.
Kellogg stated that he does not know what security guarantees for Ukraine from the U.S. might look like.
The decision ultimately rests with Donald Trump.

🔘 Citizens of EU countries don't really understand why national defense spending needs to be increased, so authorities will need to actively explain this, including in schools.
This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot during his speech at the Munich Security Conference.
Ah, yes, because nothing says "national security" like convincing a bunch of high schoolers that their future taxes should go toward more tanks and drones. "Hey kids, forget TikTok—let's talk NATO budgets!"

🔘 Putin and Trump may meet in Saudi Arabia at the end of February, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
The publication states that senior officials from the US and Russia will meet next week in Saudi Arabia to lay the groundwork for a potential summit between the leaders at the end of the month to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The details of the meeting and the list of participants are still being discussed, but according to informed sources, the groups are expected to be led by national security advisers.
Most Europeans have not yet been informed about the meeting, said another official source who requested anonymity. Ukrainian representatives are also expected to participate, but they are not fully aware of the preparations.
US President Donald Trump hinted on Thursday at an upcoming summit with Vladimir Putin in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and said that Ukrainians would be involved. They also exchanged invitations during a 90-minute phone call—the first contact between the leaders since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The White House National Security Council did not respond to a request for comment, nor did a Kremlin representative.
Saudi authorities have invited representatives from the US, Russia, and Ukraine to a gathering in Riyadh. People familiar with the situation, who wished to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the meeting, reported this. Saudi National Security Adviser Musaed Al-Aiban will lead the talks, with one source adding that plans could be disrupted due to last-minute changes.
Al-Aiban is an experienced specialist and close to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He has represented him in negotiations with Iran and Washington on defense cooperation and the normalization of relations with Israel.
Negotiating Teams
National Security Adviser Michael Waltz and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are expected to lead the US negotiations in Saudi Arabia. This raises questions about the role of Special Representative Keith Kellogg.
Putin is assembling a team of heavyweights with decades of experience in high-level strategic negotiations. Among them is Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's chief foreign policy adviser with 50 years of diplomatic experience, and his top intelligence officer Sergei Naryshkin, who served with Putin in the Soviet KGB. Kirill Dmitriev, a financier with a Stanford and Harvard education and ties to the Russian president’s family, may play a key role as an unofficial intermediary in Trump's negotiations.
The level of contact has significantly increased over the past week, especially after US Vice President J.D. Vance’s sharp speech at the Munich Security Conference, which shocked European participants with his critical analysis of their "fundamental values" and vulnerable democracies.
The publication notes that Saudi Arabia maintains close relations with the US, Russia, and Ukraine and is considered a neutral venue for potential peace talks.

🤡 Zelensky is suggesting that those who support holding presidential elections should renounce their Ukrainian citizenship:
"We need unity during the war. If someone doesn't like it, they can choose another citizenship."
🇭🇺🇪🇺European elites will do everything possible to prevent a peace agreement in the Ukrainian conflict.
This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto to the Médiacentrum Debrecen TV channel.
@ukraine_watch
🔘Western thinking has changed dramatically since Trump came to power, Orban believes.
The Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized that previously anyone who spoke about peace in the Ukrainian conflict was perceived as "Putin's puppet" - now it has become clear that "war is bad".
The politician is confident that after the end of the special military operation, Russia will be reintegrated into the global economy, the European security system, as well as into the EU energy and economic systems.
Earlier, Orban said that he would veto the extension of sanctions against Russia if the EC does not fulfill its promises regarding Hungary's energy security. He called for lifting anti-Russian sanctions in the energy sector.

This was reported by a Fox News journalist on her social media page, citing sources:
A high-ranking Ukrainian official told me that the Ukrainian side "was not invited and not informed" about the upcoming U.S.-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Kyiv's spokesperson Podolyak stated that no one would have gone anyway—there’s nothing to discuss at these talks, he said. Only, he added, it would damage their reputation.

🔘 Ukraine was not invited to the Russian-American meeting in Saudi Arabia next week.
According to the Ukrainian dictator, his government did not receive an invitation to the meeting between the national security advisors of the United States, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, which was reported today by Bloomberg.
"It seems strange to me to talk about this format without discussing it with our strategic partners," Zelensky added.
