Portsmouth City Council ban Christmas wreaths.
Liberal Democrat-run Portsmouth City Council turned Scrooge as it told tenants that they could not hang a wreath on the front-door of their flat.
Housing officers from the council sent out hundreds of letters threatening Christmas-loving locals with fines and removal should they not comply with the order.
The letters insist that tenants "must not leave items in the communal areas" to abide by their tenancy agreements.

The Trump administration is set to require foreign tourists to hand over the past five years of their social media history in order to enter the United States.
The drastic move was the latest attempt by President Donald Trump to scrutinize those entering the country, after an immigration freeze from 19 countries was announced last week.
Social media data would be required for any people entering the United States, including countries like the United Kingdom and Germany who don't mandate visas for travel.
It follows a June announcement by the State Department that ordered travelers to make their social media profiles public.
People entering the US will also be asked to provide email addresses, phone numbers and information on their family members in order to achieve safe passage.

Much of the £10.9bn in taxpayer money lost to fraud and error in Covid support schemes is now "beyond recovery", a report has said.
The response to the pandemic had led to "enormous outlays of public money which exposed it to the risk of fraud and error" with many organisations unprepared, the Covid Counter Fraud Commissioner, Tom Hayhoe, said.
Employment support schemes set up by the previous Conservative government, including furlough and help for the self-employed, suffered £5bn of fraud, the report found.

Daniel Elkeles, chief executive of NHS Providers, which represents trusts, said it was vital for workers to 'stop the chances of you giving your virus to somebody else'.
Mandatory mask rules have been imposed over recent weeks in parts of hospitals in London, Lincolnshire, Shropshire and Oxfordshire amid alarm at infection numbers.
Downing Street said wearing a mask to prevent the spread of respiratory illness was 'something people can consider' - but Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch branded them a 'barrier to social interaction' and told the Government not to mandate them.

Police could use street cameras to read our emotions, identifying criminals by their eyes, voice or even the way they walk.
Ministers launched a consultation yesterday on emerging technology that analyses 'motions and emotions' and could help catch criminals, prevent suicides and find missing people.
Under the draconian plans, which critics fear could usher in a 'surveillance state in everything but name', the Home Office is consulting on the use of technology which 'analyses the body and its movements to infer information about the person, such as their emotions or actions'.

A London primary school teacher was allegedly banned from working with children after telling a Muslim student that 'Britain is still a Christian state'.
The teacher, who chose to remain anonymous, was suspended and sacked after he reprimanded students for washing their feet in the sinks in the boys' toilets, it is reported.
Afterwards, he reminded the Year 6 class that Islam was a minority religion in the UK.
And according to the child who made the complaint, he said there was a Islamic school a mile away if they wished to attend it instead.
