Depending upon the range of increase, and its severity, inflation may be classified into three broad categories.
□ LOW INFLATION.
◇ Such inflation is slow and on predictable lines, which might be called small or gradual .
◇ Low inflation takes place in a longer period and the range of increase is usually in ‘single digit’.
◇ Such inflation has also been called as ‘creeping inflation’.
□ GALLOPING INFLATION.
◇ This is a ‘very high inflation’ running in the range of double-digit or triple digit (i.e., 20 per cent, 100 per cent in a year)
◇ Other names to this inflation are hopping inflation, jumping inflation and running or runaway inflation.
□ HYPER INFLATION
◇ This form of inflation is ‘large and accelerating’ which might have the annual rates in million or even trillion.

◇ Dharma concept based on idea that universe is governed by certain natural law and moral laws guiding human should be in agreement with them.
◇ Dharma refers to goals known as Purusharthas – are Dharma, artha, kama and moksha.
◇ Sanskrit text dealing with Dharma called Dharmashashtras.

1. Dharmasutras (600 – 300BCE)
2. Smritis ( 200BCE – 900CE)
3. Third include commentaries, collection with comments and conclusions and compendia of views from different texts.

• smriti (smriti text)
• Sadachara and shishtachara.

◇ Buddhist literature divided into Canonical and non-canonical texts. Canonical text contain Basic tenets and principles of a religion or sect.
◇ Canonical texts classified either into 9 or 12 angas or into 3 Pitakas.
◇ There are Pali, Chinese and Tibetan version of the Tipitaka (three basket / collection ). Pali tipitaka of Theravada is oldest.
◇ Tipitaka contain three books :-
• Sutta pitaka – which contain what Buddha himself said.
• Vinaya pitaka – has rules for monks and nuns.
• Abhidhamma pitaka – later work contain thorough study and systemization of teachings of Sutta pitaka.
◇ The three pitakas divided into books knows as Nikayas . For example Sutta pitaka divided into 5 nikayas – Digha, Majjhima, samyutta, anguttara, and khuddaka nikayas.

A Chinese-funded tax-free enclave in Sri Lanka recently cleared the final legal hurdle as its Supreme Court gave it a go ahead.

◇ It is the largest single foreign investment by China in Sri Lanka among the other massive infrastructure projects.
◇ The Port City will attract billions of dollars for trade, banking and offshore services similar to what is available in Dubai and Singapore.
◇ The Port City will be administered by a commission with various powers to fast track investment approvals.
◇ All transactions within the Port City will be denominated in foreign currency and all salaries earned by any worker will be tax-exempt.
