Actually, I had applied for emergency VISA and booked an appointment, could not attend that day because the flights were cancelled due to bad weather. Now I am trying to reschedule again in the same emergency category (the same emergency category is still ON), but getting a reschedule date for Feb, latest. I want to book for earlier dates, considering my conference is in 4th week of January.

Can anyone suggest what could be done? Is there any way to get earlier dates

If it's a personal visit , apply for B2 and if it's business visit, then apply for B1. B1 may need additional docs. But Even if you apply for B1 or B2, visa will be always issued as B1/B2
