🔹big cheese - an important person, a leader
🔹good egg - just a nice person
🔹be like taking candy from a baby - to be very easy
🔹polish the apple - to attempt to curry favor through insincere or excessive flattery or praise (in other words, you give an apple to a new teacher as a little gift hoping she'll be nice and kind to you)
🔹 take a cake - surpass yourself for better or for worse
