❗️Ukraine is actively working on its integration into NATO, — the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Yehor Chernev.
The next NATO Summit is expected to be the next step after the promises made in Vilnius, demonstrating Ukraine's movement towards membership in the Alliance.
Ukraine hopes to receive a political invitation or a concrete step towards NATO membership at the Summit in Washington, which will be enshrined in the final documents.

An important and successful visit to Moldova!
For us, security in Moldova is an important element of our security. Together we are also on the road to the EU.
The result of the visit:
- agreement on Moldova's participation in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland;
- adoption of a resolution in the Parliament condemning the forced removal, abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children by russia;
- extending the social status for Ukrainians who have found temporary refuge in Moldova;
- consideration of the issue of Ukrainian-language classes in national schools.

We remember what this year should bring us in the political sense, in particular the result with the European Union. Ukraine has fulfilled all the necessary conditions for the actual start of accession negotiations, and now it is up to the EU side to fulfill its obligations.
We continue preparations for the first inaugural Peace Summit in June, and our team, along with the teams of our key partners, is working to make the Summit truly global. We can say for sure that all continents will be represented – different parts of the world, different views on global development. But all of them share the same recognition that the UN Charter and basic international conventions are binding documents for every country in the world, including a country like Russia, where madness prevails. The world majority must force Russia into peace – and it can do this... It is in June that the path to a just peace can begin.
We are also preparing for the NATO Summit to be held this summer. A strong political signal is needed – the Alliance should not be afraid of its own strength or shy away from its own foundations – every country that shares common values and is willing to actually defend them deserves an invitation to join the Alliance.
👏🇯🇵 I welcome Japan's decision to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children! — the Vice-Speaker Olena Kondratiuk
It is very important that we are supported in this mission by all G7 countries and more than 30 countries. In total, there are already 36 countries that care!
Together we must force russia to return all abducted Ukrainian children.

Right now, power engineers and repair crews are working in many regions of our country – Lviv region, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Kharkiv and the region, Dnipropetrovsk region. All the relevant services are involved to restore the generation and distribution systems that were destroyed by the Russian strikes. Everyone will definitely do their best. And I thank all those who are working now and have been working all day.
It is crucial that such strikes like today's do not become routine for the world. I am grateful to all the leaders who respond to them, who condemn Russian terror, who contact partners having air defense systems that could operate in Ukraine and the appropriate missiles. For the terrorists to lose, the solidarity of leaders in the defense against terror must work 24/7, just like the people who are eliminating the consequences of the strikes, and like our soldiers who are doing everything they can to make the most of the forces available in Ukraine every day and every night.

🇺🇦🤝🇱🇻 Newly appointed Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže paid her first foreign visit to Ukraine, — the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
The goal is to coordinate efforts to combat russian aggression and provide comprehensive support.
We greatly appreciate everything that Latvia is doing to ensure that Ukraine wins this war.
She thanked Latvia for its assistance in the rehabilitation of the Ukrainian military.
Together with our partners, we must fight for the release of more than 28,000 civilian hostages held in russian captivity in violation of the Geneva Conventions. International publicity and the return of all children abducted by russia are important to us.
We are grateful to Latvia for joining the International Coalition for the Return of Children and helping to implement the BringKidsBackUA initiative!

📄 The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a European integration law in the social sphere — "On Amendments to the Labour Code of Ukraine on Labour Relations in the Transfer of a Business Entity" (No. 8244).
By its decision, the Parliament of Ukraine established that the rights and obligations under labour contracts between employees and employers that existed are preserved when a business is transferred to another owner.
In this way, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has improved the legal protection of employees in the event of a change of ownership of an enterprise, according to the European model, contributing to stability in the labour market and the ability of a person to plan their own work.

🇺🇦🇱🇻 I met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Baiba Braže and congratulated her on her election to the post.
I emphasised that Ukraine greatly appreciates the support provided by Latvia at all levels — at the level of parliament, government, the non-governmental sector, business and the entire Latvian society.
I thanked her in particular for her military and technical support of Ukraine, including the provision of weapons, ammunition and military goods, and training of Ukrainian military in Latvia.
During the meeting, we discussed Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. I noted that we are looking forward to hearing an important signal regarding Ukraine's invitation to join the Alliance and the start of accession negotiations.
We also discussed the issue of increasing sanctions pressure on russia in the context of the development of the 14th sanctions package.

The Chornobyl accident left a black page in the history of not only Ukraine but also the world.
The International Day of Remembrance for the Chornobyl Disaster is not only about reminding us of the horrific events to prevent them from happening again, but also about paying tribute and gratitude to the liquidators. In the context of a full-scale invasion, it is also a day that demonstrates the attitude to threats and security challenges. Fierce fighting on the territory of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and its occupation for more than a month. The occupation of Zaporizhzhia NPP, which is still ongoing.
This is all about disregard for human life and safety!
A terrorist state can cause a new disaster — new victims, a new date for commemoration.
The international community must be decisive in its actions and prevent the tragedies from happening again.

❗️ Protection of victims of russian aggression in Ukraine, — Pavlo Frolov, the member of the Budget Committee.
The adopted draft law 10256 provides for the creation of a register that will keep track of Ukrainians affected by russian aggression in order to provide assistance and compensation.
The register will be fully synchronised with the International Register of Damages, which will allow for more accurate data and simplify the process of providing assistance.
At the initial stage, the register will include those who have suffered since 2014, with further expansion of its scope.

The anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy.
The anniversary of a common tragedy.
This is a terrible date in our history, the day when the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant occurred in 1986. A man-made, environmental and humanitarian disaster that had and still has terrible consequences.
Ukraine has paid an extremely high price for the liquidation of the consequences of the disaster.
We will always remember the feat, courage and heroism of the liquidators of the Chornobyl accident. All those who saved Ukraine and the world at the cost of their lives!

I have just received reports on the situation in Odesa following a Russian missile strike and in Kharkiv following a Russian guided aerial bomb strike. Unfortunately, there are fatalities in Odesa. My condolences to the families and friends. Many people have been wounded – all of them are being provided with medical aid. Local services and rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine responded immediately. It is important that all services, all our people, on whose work the lives of Ukrainians depend, are as efficient and fast as possible. Prompt assistance and protection of life that is timely and courageous enough are what help us all in Ukraine to endure.
I thank everyone who truly cares about our people and our entire country, I thank everyone who helps Ukraine! I thank everyone who fights against Russian evil.
🇺🇦🇱🇹 Today is a Ukrainian day in the Lithuanian Parliament! Hearings were held on the war crimes committed by russia in our country, in particular against civilians.
I was pleased to open the hearings together with my colleague, the Speaker of the Seimas, Victoria Čmilite-Nielsen.
Victoria and I are patrons of the Ukrainian Hub Ucreate Hub in Vilnius, which co-organized the event together with the civil network "Opora" and the Open Lithuania Foundation.
Documentation of crimes is the first and very important step on the path to justice.
I sincerely believe that there will be further steps. Recovery of reparations in favor of the victims. The tribunal. Punishment. I believe that the world will be with Ukraine, with its peace plan, with its desire for justice!

No matter what country I am in, I always meet our women who are fleeing the war with their children.
Most of the women here in Moldova are from Bakhmut, Irpin, Kherson, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
Thanks to our international partners UN Women, they received small grants to start their own small businesses in Moldova.
I met with such women entrepreneurs today in Chisinau together with the Vice-Speaker Doina Herman, who is in charge of women leaders.
Most of the women I spoke to today are eager to return to Ukraine and continue their business in their homeland.
There were women whose husbands serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There was also a little Ukrainian girl, Alisa, from Irpin.
We said that we must not give up. We must not lose our optimism and faith in the best — we must do everything our women are doing there now to support each other, get back on their feet and prepare to return to Ukraine.

Another terrible loss among media professionals...
On 20 April, journalist Andrii Topchii was killed while performing a combat mission near Robotyno, Zaporizhzhia region.
In 2007, he graduated from the Faculty of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He wrote articles on historical topics and published interesting and in-depth interviews with scientists in the Fakty newspaper. Prior to that, he was a journalist for the Telegraph.
Andrii, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a combat medic of an infantry battalion, came to the defence of Ukraine in 2014. During the ATO, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
“With breaks for journalism, Andrii fought for Ukraine for ten years. And he died like a warrior — on the battlefield,” his colleagues wrote.
May he rest in peace and memory...

🥋The European Judo Championships 2024 in Zagreb starts with a gold medal won by Dariia Bilodid in the weight category up to 57 kg — the Youth and Sports Committee
In the final, our bronze medallist of the 2020 Olympic Games defeated Slovenia's Kaja Kaiser in the Golden Score.
This is 23-year-old Dariia Bilodid's third gold medal at adult continental championships and her first in the weight category under 57 kg.
Congratulations to the European champion and the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team!

❗️ Oleh Bondarenko, the Chairman of the Environmental Policy Committee, took part in the events marking the anniversary of the Chornobyl accident.
The Head of the Committee joined the flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the Heroes of Chornobyl and addressed the teams of the enterprises of the Chornobyl exclusion zone.
At the same time, the participants of the events, including Romina Pourmokhtari, the Minister of Environment and Climate Policy of Sweden, visited the administrative building of the SSE Chornobyl NPP and inspected the space under the new safe confinement.
It is with sadness in our hearts that we recall the feat of our heroes-liquidators who, at the cost of their own lives, extinguished the fire at the Chornobyl NPP for more than seven hours.Читать полностью…
🫘 Despite russian missile attacks, Ukrainian farmers continue the 2024 sowing season to ensure food security, — the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, 2 million 546 thousand hectares of cereals and legumes have already been sown on the territory controlled by Ukraine. This includes, in particular:
corn - 1,189 thousand hectares;
barley - 761.5 thousand hectares;
wheat - 223.3 thousand hectares;
peas - 159.2 thousand hectares;
oats - 146.6 thousand hectares.
Last week, farmers sowed 492.9 thou hectares of grains and pulses. Agrarians in Vinnytsia, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Bukovyna and Chernihiv regions have completed sowing sugar beet.
Also, according to the Volyn Regional State Administration, spring wheat, peas and barley are being sown in Volyn.

❗️ Ukraine's partners have stepped up their efforts to provide military assistance, and this is already noticeable not only at the political level but also directly at the frontline. In particular, the supply of artillery shells is increasing, and our soldiers are responding to the occupiers more actively.
This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the National Security, Defence and Intelligence Committee Yehor Chernev.
By providing assistance, the US has set an example for other allies. The West has "woken up" and is ready to fight back, so not only is military aid being increased, but new and secondary sanctions are being introduced. The Chairperson of the Committee Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze thanked Sweden and the Swedish people for their support of Ukraine.

🕯The Committee on Freedom of Speech is saddened to inform about the loss among media representatives.
On 25 April, a servicewoman, journalist Alla Pushkarchuk (call sign "Ruta") was killed at the frontline as a result of a missile attack.
From August 2014 to April 2018, she worked in the 5th separate battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army as a journalist and photographer.
Later, she was demobilised and worked as a journalist, news editor at the Ukrainian Week magazine, and PR specialist at the Komora publishing house.
In 2021, Alla Pushkarchuk became the editor of Chytomo. After the full-scale invasion, she joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with her boyfriend.
