It's a bright Easter holiday. A day that has many traditions — traditions that we inherited from our parents and will pass on to our children for future generations. In some ways they are similar, and in others they are different. But there is something that unites everyone.
Easter symbolizes victory. Goodness, faith, light and hope overcome the darkness that reigns in the souls of those who come with evil intentions.
This is not the first time we are celebrating it in the context of a full-scale invasion. But we hope that this is the last time. The last time we are separated from our families is by distance — from those who are at the front, have left or are working to defend Ukraine.
Victory is achieved thanks to people — specific names — who defend our country, help, save, and support us. Thanks to the indomitable people of an independent state!
We will never forget those who will no longer join the holiday table with their families. Truth and justice will prevail.
All prayers and wishes will be answered. So, please, remember Ukraine and our soldiers in their memories today.

🇺🇦 The Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine handed over Easter cakes for Ukrainian defenders to volunteers.
The Secretariat continued its traditional support of Ukrainian defenders on the occasion of Easter.
Together, the employees of the Secretariat of the Parliament of Ukraine collected more than 1,500 Easter cakes to support the invincible Ukrainian soldiers.
The leadership of the Secretariat of the Parliament of Ukraine together with the colleagues delivered Easter cakes to the frontline through volunteers.
"These are not only Easter cakes, the main thing is gratitude and appreciation to the guys and girls who are defending our country and giving our great Ukrainian people the opportunity to celebrate the bright holiday of Easter here, in our peaceful territories," said volunteer Yuriy Tyra, who will deliver the Easter cakes to our military.
He emphasized that all Easter cakes would be delivered to the places of service by the holiday — "with our gratitude and warmth."

Throughout the day, there were many meetings on military topics — the situation at the front, the occupier's offensive and our actions — both to disrupt Russia's plans and to achieve our goals. The Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, presented a report, and we also discussed with the Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov the deliveries of weapons and the communication with partners. We need a significant speed-up of deliveries to strengthen the capabilities of our soldiers tangibly. It is not Russian air bombs and assault operations that should dominate the frontline, but our Ukrainian initiative — our air defense, our artillery, our drones. We are solving this partially due to our production and to everyone who helps the Defense Forces. We have achieved particular results regarding the matter of drones — I am grateful to everyone who works for this cause, who produces drones, who trains operators, who provides everything we need. I thank each of our partners who now are really doing everything they can to strengthen our position. We are really counting on the promptness of the U.S. deliveries. These are the deliveries that should be felt in the destroyed logistics of the occupiers, in their fear to deploy in any part of the occupied territory, and in our strength — in strength, that should prove itself in the Pokrovsk direction, as well as in the Kurakhove, Siversk, Lyman, and Kupyansk directions… In the south of our country. Everywhere where Russia is pushing and where we have to push it back. And also everywhere where new strike threats may arise.
I thank everyone who fights and works for our country and people! I thank everyone in the world who stands with Ukraine! I thank everyone who helps — on time and in the right way to win.

🇺🇦🇦🇿 We have started the official visit of the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
We laid flowers on Shehid Alley and honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence during the events of January 20, 1990.
We are preparing for high-level meetings in the Milli Majlis and the Government. As the Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, I will represent Ukraine at the 6th International Forum of Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.

We are working with colleagues in Zhytomyr region, in particular, we are focusing on European integration — what awaits us and what opportunities and challenges we face.
I met with the heads of the region's communities and held a meeting on the topic of "Capable governance on the way to the EU."
Each community enters the space of interaction. And these are huge opportunities for the country. The EU can help implement practical projects.
I believe that over the next 5 years, we will demonstrate serious dynamics on our part on the European integration track.
At the same time, I always pay attention to the capacities in the communities:
📌 having a specialist in international work;
📌 learning foreign languages;
📌 increasing competencies.
I emphasized the need to expand the list of countries for joint project implementation. We appreciate the cooperation with Estonia and it is a great example of interaction.

❗️Oleksandr Merezhko, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, speaks about the isolation of russia as an aggressor state:
Ukraine's closest partners have agreed to participate in the Peace Summit, which is scheduled for June 15-16.
Intensive diplomatic work is underway and there is hope that we will be able to convince China to participate in the Summit.
China must understand the historicity and importance of this event and will be on the right side of history.

Since the first days of the war, they have been demonstrating professionalism and courage every day, heroically serving in the most difficult areas of the frontline, defending the Motherland! Eternal glory to the heroes who gave their lives for loyalty to the Ukrainian people.
Highly appreciating border guards in our country and law enforcement system, the Committee made every effort to ensure that the Parliament adopted the Law of Ukraine, which provides for a temporary increase in the total number of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine by 15,000 people.
The adopted law will allow the State Border Guard Service to respond promptly to actual and potential threats to national security at the state border.

🇺🇦 The Ukrainian national anthem was played in Orlando, USA — the Ukrainian national team won the International Cheerleading Union Cup, which was attended by the world's leading freestyle duos, — The Committee of Youth and Sports.
The Ukrainian duo, consisting of internationally recognized masters of sports of Ukraine Anastasia Maloshenko and Yelyzaveta Timofeeva, outperformed the duos from Ecuador and Croatia, which won silver and bronze medals in a fierce fight.
Another Ukrainian duo, consisting of the bronze medalists of the World Cup in Seoul, Kateryna Karpova and Arina Morarenko, took fourth place.
Congratulations to the coaches and athletes on their long-awaited victory!

🇪🇺 75 years since the creation of the Council of Europe, an international organization of 46 European states that recognize the rule of law and guarantee the observance of citizens' rights and freedoms.
75 years ago, the Council of Europe became a symbol of unity, human rights and democracy.
In 1995, Ukraine became a full member of the Council of Europe. Thus, supporting Ukraine on its path to the European Union is an important step in strengthening stability and prosperity on the European continent.
Ukraine has become a symbol of the struggle for independence and territorial integrity in the war against russian aggression, which demonstrates its commitment to the ideals of freedom and democracy, the main principles of the Council of Europe.

This morning Oleksandr Syrskyi delivered a long report. The Commander-in-Chief spoke particularly about our frontline positions, concrete actions of our units, and particular directions. I thank each of our warriors for their resilience! The Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov also delivered a report today. We are aware of all the aspects of the current situation.
All of us should remember that Russia can only be forced to leave Ukraine alone. And this will happen. Our strength will definitely make it happen. The strength of our people, our military strength, the strength of our unity with the world, the strength of our partners – the strength of our diplomacy. I thank everyone in the team of our country – in my team, and in the teams of our partner countries – who are already working these days to ensure that in June all of us – all the countries of the world that value life – achieve a truly significant political result.
The Global Peace Summit will be held, and it has to be successful, no matter how hard they try to sabotage it. Putin does not want peace, he is insane, and every day his state does new things to prove it. And to overcome this evil, to overcome the war, we need the maximum unity of the world. We achieve the results together.
I thank everyone who is fighting and working for the sake of our country and people! I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine! I thank everyone who really provides us with timely and strong support!

On the results of meetings in the Parliament and with Azerbaijani officials during his official visit to Baku:
1. We appreciate the unwavering position of the President, the Parliament and the Government of Azerbaijan in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
2. We discussed the continuation and expansion of humanitarian aid to Ukraine: electrical equipment, humanitarian demining, training of sappers. An anti-personnel mine disposal machine provided by Azerbaijan is operating in Kharkiv region.
3. Invited Azerbaijan to participate at the highest level in the Peace Summit in Switzerland and the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Berlin.
4. I am bringing home good news for Ukrainian children! Agreed with the Minister of Social Protection on free health and psychological rehabilitation for 60 children. We discussed the possibility of sending another group of our children within a year.

🇺🇦🇦🇿 I started my work in Baku with a meeting with the First Deputy Head of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bahruz Mammadov.
Demining of the de-occupied territories is a humanitarian challenge that unites us.
On behalf of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada, i expressed gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for the significant and practical assistance to Ukraine in the process of humanitarian demining.
Azerbaijan conducts demining trainings. A separate area is the involvement of women in the process. We have established our own production of demining machines. Azerbaijan has recently handed over one of these machines, for the disposal of anti-personnel mines, to Ukraine. Now this equipment is working in Kharkiv region!
I also asked the Azerbaijani side to provide Ukraine with a machine for the disposal of anti-tank mines. We look forward to deepening cooperation between the SES and the Mine Action Agency.

For the students of the State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic", I gave a lecture "Ukraine's Accession to the European Union: Requirements and Possibilities of Their Realization".
Europe is an incredible number of different opportunities, responsibilities and rights. Every time I emphasize that it is important and necessary to communicate with society about what awaits us and what we will face both on the way to and after becoming full members of the EU.
I asked the young people: "What exactly will change for you with the accession?" The answers were varied: new currency, open borders and subsidies, education, participation in decision-making.
It is important for them to understand and realize all the aspects that will be waiting for Ukraine and its people in the EU, because they will live most of their lives under this flag.
We will need specialists who will be directly involved in decision-making, development, and work in governing bodies.

⚡️ The upcoming NATO summit will be Stoltenberg's final one as Secretary General, says Arseniy Pushkarenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation.
Jens Stoltenberg's term in office was extended due to the war in Ukraine.
Today, discussions about potential candidates continue within the Alliance.
As a kind of "legacy," Stoltenberg initiated a €100 billion fund to support Ukraine.
