Today, there was a separate report by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and a report by the Commander-in-Chief. Our positions at the front, the physical protection of our people and communities, and the disruption of any attempts at Russian offensive are urgent priorities.
I am grateful to each of our warriors whose courage and resilience make all this possible. To everyone in the Ukrainian Defense Forces – in our combat brigades, in all units involved, in the Air Defense Forces, in the Air Force, in the security forces.
Everyone who is now on the frontline, who defends Ukraine on the ground, in the sky and at sea, gives our state the opportunity to gain a prospect for Ukrainians – for our independence, for our diplomacy, for our lives. Glory to all our warriors! Glory to our people!
Glory to Ukraine!
❗️ The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appeals to the parliaments of other countries and international organizations to recognize the deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 as genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, — the Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy Yevheniia Kravchuk.
In 1944, Crimean Tatars became victims of genocide, and today they face similar threats from the occupiers.
The Parliament of Canada and other countries have already recognized the deportation of Crimean Tatars as genocide, and others should join.
The unpunished evil is returning. russia is pursuing a genocidal policy towards both Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars. This is unacceptable, and we have a duty to speak out against it together.

It is the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II (1939-1945).
On this day, most of the world's nations honor the memory of all those who fought against the Nazi evil. All those who stood up to defend their countries, who defeated Nazism with their strength and courage.
We will also remember the heroism of the Ukrainian people and their contribution to the victory. A common victory.
We all thought that after the lessons of the Second World War, evil would not be reborn. We thought that the world would no longer know what bombings and attacks, occupation and deportation, torture and murder were.
But we know.
And we are fighting.
We are fighting against russian evil, which has been revived and has become even more cruel. An even greater urge to enslave.
We are fighting for what is ours.
For our independence. Our sovereignty. Our freedom and our country. For every city, for every inch of Ukrainian land.
And Ukraine is not alone in this fight.
Free countries, reliable allies and partners who are united with us today. Around Ukraine and our common victory.

❗️ The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is allocating $60 million to support Ukrainian agriculture, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy informs.
The aid package is aimed at implementing a new Harvest program to mitigate the impact of russian aggression on agricultural production in Ukraine.
The program aims to help Ukrainian farmers increase production efficiency, make it more resilient and competitive during the war, and lay the groundwork for the long-term sustainable development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
Under the Harvest program, USAID will help create a regulatory and business environment in Ukraine that unlocks the potential for innovation and helps attract private business resources to help Ukrainian farmers continue to feed their country and many other countries around the world.
The Harvest program will be part of the Agricultural Resilience Initiative in Ukraine (AGRI-Ukraine).

I've just held a meeting of the Staff. First, the frontline. The report by the Commander-in-Chief – he was on the frontline, directly in the brigades. He reported on the key challenges and needs. We are getting ready. There was also a report on our own production of weapons and manning of our brigades. We are doing our best to provide more weapons for our warriors.
We also discussed the supply from our partners – the delivery time and the possibility to speed up the actual receipt of weapons and shells from our partners. In reality. Political decisions must be followed by real logistics – the actual receipt of weapons by our warriors. All those involved must now work 24/7 with partners, including the United States.

You show exemplary courage and resilience, defend our Ukraine in the most difficult areas of the frontline and bring the victory over the enemy closer, taking on the powerful attacks of the russian aggressor every second.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution appealing to the governments and parliaments of foreign countries, international organizations and parliamentary assemblies to recognize the deportation of Crimean Tatars from Crimea in 1944 as an act of genocide against the Crimean Tatar people.
▪️ We called on the world to join the commemoration of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people on May 18.
▪️ We must condemn the criminal actions of the totalitarian regime of the USSR aimed at organizing genocide, which resulted in the significant destruction of the centuries-old traditions, culture, gene pool and ethnic identity of the Crimean Tatar people.
▪️ We also called to recognize the full-scale aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine as a continuation of the russian genocidal imperial policy aimed at colonizing and enslaving the Ukrainian people.

🇺🇦🇧🇪 Met with Mathias De Clercq, Vice President of Eurocities, Mayor of Ghent, Belgium.
I thanked for all the practical assistance that the city provides to Ukrainians and Ukraine, in particular, in terms of humanitarian aid.
I emphasized that russia has recently intensified its attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Ukraine's most urgent needs remain air defense systems.
In particular, a large number of attacks by russia are focused on the energy sector of Ukraine.
Asked Mathias De Clercq to consider the possibility of transferring the necessary energy equipment to Ukraine as soon as possible, in particular, power generators and transformers.
I called on the mayors of the Eurocities association to provide additional funding for reconstruction and recovery projects in Ukrainian cities that need to be rebuilt quickly, in particular in Kharkiv.
I invited the mayor of Ghent to join the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk
May 8 is the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II (1939-1945).
This year, we are celebrating this day officially at the level of the law, in the cradle of European tradition.
Today we cannot avoid parallels with our day, with the current russian-Ukrainian war. Ukraine, as a civilized, peace-loving, and democratic European state, honors the memory of the feat of everyone who fought against Nazism and the feat of everyone who is fighting against ruscism today.
Ukrainians with arms in hand defend Europe and give a chance to build a more lasting peace and create a new, fairer, global security system. Victory over russia is a prerequisite for this, and it is the only way to restore Ukraine.
May the memory of the pain of war never fade, and may peace be the greatest value of humanity.

The role of Ukrainians in the Victory in World War II is extremely important!
61 countries were involved in the terrible war, and Ukraine was at the very epicenter of events!
The terrible consequences — more than 5.3 million Ukrainians were killed, more than 2 million were taken to forced labor, destruction of cities and towns...
Every family has its own history of war and victory... Each country has its own history of victory over fascism, Nazism and totalitarianism!
May this story inspire us not to be afraid to confront the new evil!
We must remember, and historical memory is especially important now!
We honor the memory of those who defeated Nazism. And we carry flowers. To the old and new graves of the fallen Heroes. To the past wars and the current war against ruscism and rabid imperialism!
"Never Again" was meant to symbolize the lesson that humanity learned from the world wars. But now it is again...
The Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk
On the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II, we honor the memory of those who stood in defense of our country and the entire world. Their sacrifices and courage made it possible for us to live in peace for many years.
While remembering the past, we cannot help but turn to the reality. Today, the world is facing a new threat — Ukraine is fighting against a frenzied russia and its ideology of russism, is fighting for independence, sovereignty, and peace on the European continent.
russian aggression and russism are a challenge to freedom and democracy. Ukrainian defenders today, like their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, are on guard against the aggressor, on guard to protect Ukrainian and European values.
Let us remember the history and lessons of the past to build a peaceful and secure future.
We are together, a single strong nation that stands guard over peace, freedom and truth. Together with the whole world, russism will be overcome, just as the world once defeated Nazism.
The frontline. The battles in the hottest spots. Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Vremivka, Kupyansk directions.
Today, as always, I communicated with the military and held a separate meeting with the Ministry of Defence regarding the manning of our brigades. We are doing everything we can to strengthen our warriors and give Ukraine more power in combat.
I thank everyone in the world who is helping us. I am grateful to all the leaders who are really keeping their word and fulfilling what we agreed upon — all the supply packages of weapons and ammunition are extremely important for Ukraine now. This time is crucial for the whole year — in combat, in training, in supply. Any delay now — in weapons, ammunition or in manning our brigades — will cost too much for all those in the world who seek actual protection from Russia.
And I thank every combat brigade of ours — all those who are fighting on the front line — and doing it effectively and bravely without surrendering their positions. Thank you for being here for Ukraine. And today, based on the results of the first days of the week, the warriors of the 55th Zaporizhzhia Sich separate artillery brigade deserve our special appreciation. Good job, guys! Your accuracy is always inspiring!

❗️ Pavlo Sushko, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, and Oleksiy Leonov, the Co-Chairman of the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with Romania, visited Romania to check the conditions of stay of children evacuated from Ukraine.
The working visit took place on the instructions of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to personally find out the state of meeting the needs of Ukrainian children who were evacuated from Odesa, Kyiv, and Dnipro to Romania after the outbreak of a full-scale war.
The Romanian side is making every effort to ensure that the stay of our children in evacuation is comfortable and safe. Entertainment and educational activities have been organized for the children. All of them attend local schools. At the same time, each child is a separate personality, and therefore the process of adaptation is not easy for everyone. Our children are looking forward to returning,
❗️ The Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Communal Services Andriy Gerus named four areas in which Ukrainian power engineers are preparing for the autumn-winter period.
Ukrainian power engineers are working to restore the operation of the energy infrastructure and are already preparing for the autumn-winter period, — he said during a meeting with European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
The Chairman of the Committee highlighted four areas that Ukrainian power engineers are working on in preparation for the autumn-winter period:
1. Restoration of damaged generation facilities, including thermal power plants.
2. Restoration and protection of Ukrenergo substations.
3. Construction of distributed electricity generation.
4. Increasing the capacity of interstate crossings for import and export of electricity.
Andriy Gerus called on the representatives of the European Commission to help increase electricity imports from Europe to Ukraine.
Together with my colleagues, I met with EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson to discuss current and strategic prospects, including the challenges facing the Ukrainian energy system.
I informed her about the situation that has developed as a result of shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure — power outages, the scale of destruction, and destroyed facilities.
We appreciate the unwavering solidarity of the EU institutions and its member states with our country against the backdrop of the ongoing energy terror by russia and the support provided to Ukraine's energy sector.
Ensuring energy security and reliability of supply remains the main focus of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union. The synchronization of the Ukrainian power system with the European grid in March 2022 is a significant contribution in this regard.
The EU's support remains critical and we look forward to further solidarity.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko
🇺🇦🇩🇪 Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, the Chair of the Committee for Ukraine's Integration into the EU, met with representatives of the German Bundestag's Budget Committee.
They came to Ukraine to assess the situation and understand the areas in which Ukraine needs support the most.
The parties discussed, among other things, further assistance to Ukraine.
We hope that this assistance will not only not decrease, but on the contrary, will increase, because we really need it. We are talking about weapons to be able to defend ourselves, as well as about advocating Ukraine in the world and supporting it on the path to European integration,
🇺🇦🇬🇧 For more than two years now, the UK has been concrete and decisive in its assistance to Ukraine, says Arseniy Pushkarenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy.
The visit of British Foreign Secretary David Cameron to Kyiv is symbolic on the eve of the G7 Summit and the Global Peace Summit and before the upcoming international conference "Rebuilding Ukraine."
The start of negotiations between London and Kyiv on a 100-year partnership is a logical continuation of the security agreement and a signal that Britain has no doubts: Ukraine will be independent, so we are ready to build long-term relations, including economic, security, and humanitarian issues. It was also announced that additional funds would be allocated to strengthen support in the defense and energy sectors,
🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦 Today is Infantry Day!
It is the infantrymen who are the first to meet the enemy's path, who bravely and heroically repel russian invaders day and night, repel enemy attacks, hold occupied lines and positions, and conduct offensive operations.
I sincerely congratulate our infantry soldiers on their professional holiday.
Thank you for your daily heroism, endurance, strength and power.
Thank you for your professionalism, courage and bravery.
Eternal honor to the heroes who gave their lives in the fight for Ukraine.
Glory to each and every one of them who continues to fight and fight for a free future!
