❤️🩹 "Miracles do happen". The father of gymnast Mariia Vysochanska came from the frontline to watch his daughter perform at the 2024 Olympics.
The Ukrainian group gymnastics team took third place in the 2024 Olympics qualification. One of the gymnasts, Mariia Vysochanska, was joined by her father, Oleh Vysochanskyi, who has been fighting since the beginning of the russian-Ukrainian war and defended Donetsk airport.
I cried so much, you can't imagine, because my dad was not allowed to come, — Mariia could barely hold back her tears when she told Suspilne Sport about it in an exclusive commentary. — After the performance, I found them, saw them, and my dad and mom waved to me. Honestly, I didn't even expect it to happen. Miracles happen, they happen to us — the main thing is to believe in them.
🔹 Diving (10m platform):
Oleksii Sereda advanced to the semi-finals with the fifth highest score.
🔹 Rhythmic gymnastics:
The Ukrainian team of Mariia Vysochanska, Diana Baieva, Alina Melnyk, Valeriia Peremeta and Kira Shyrykina reached the final with the third result, following their performances in the five hoops and three ribbons/two balls exercises.
Taisiia Onofriichuk took ninth place in the individual all-around final.
🔹 Modern pentathlon:
Vladyslav Chekan and Oleksandr Tovkai took 11th and 17th places in the B semi-finals, ending their performances at the Olympics.
🔹 Breaking:
Kateryna "Kate" Pavlenko overcame the group stage, but in the quarterfinals she lost to B-heart "671" from China with a score of 0:3 (7:20 in votes), finishing in 6th place.
Anna "Stefani" Ponomarenko took third place in Group D, but lost in terms of the number of votes and finished in 9th place.
🔹 Synchronised swimming (duets):
Maryna Aleksiiva and Vladyslava Aleksiiva are in 5th place after the technical programme.
With eleven medals (3🥇4🥈4🥉), Ukraine ranks 17th in the medal standings.

9 August is the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples.
The Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krymchaks are peoples who have historically formed in Crimea. The Law of Ukraine "On Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine" of 2021 guarantees their right to self-determination, cultural, educational and linguistic rights.
Despite centuries of oppression from the "russian culture", these peoples remain true to their values: freedom, culture and development on their land.
Members of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy visited the exhibition "Miras. Heritage" exhibition about the Crimean Tatars.

Today, we have also detailed the work agenda for this month with Prime Minister Shmyhal, namely the decisions that are needed and the agreements that we expect in relations with our partners, especially in Europe. We have now received a new inflow from the United States – $3.9 billion has been transferred to the Treasury account. I am grateful to our partners for their support. We are also working with the European Union to obtain about €4 billion in assistance that Ukraine needs in August.
The Prime Minister also reported on the regional work of Government officials – it is the right thing for the Government to be in the regions and really see the problems and make decisions quickly and locally. Now there are many questions about preparations for the new school year. Our priority is to provide maximum assistance to schools in all regions where security allows them to open for children and operate offline. The Government is currently preparing several technical solutions specifically to help with this issue. Regular reports are also coming in on our energy sector – our preparations for the heating season and enhanced protection of energy infrastructure.
I am grateful to everyone in Ukraine, in every region, who is working exactly as needed to ensure that the social sector, business and communities are prepared for winter.
❗️ The delivery of the first F-16s should be an incentive for our other partners, — the Deputy Chairman of the National Security, Defence and Intelligence Committee, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO PA Yehor Chernev
The delivery of the first batch of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine is a significant breakthrough and the result of great efforts by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the diplomatic team and work at the parliamentary level. Everyone has worked hard to ensure that our fleet is replenished with modern combat aircraft.
Ukraine has received the first batch of F-16 aircraft. Next, we expect other aircraft from the countries of the respective coalition — the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Norway. We are now actively working to ensure that other countries, including the United States, join this coalition. The delivery of the first F-16s should be an incentive for our other partners,
Another silver medal — this time Illia Kovtun wins the award in artistic gymnastics!
Congratulations to the Ukrainian on his achievement 🇺🇦
More to come!
We continue to follow and cheer for ours at the 2024 Olympics 💪🏻

I held a meeting of the Staff today. There was a detailed report by Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi. Regarding our defense on the front – all directions. Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Kharkiv – all of them. An analysis of our active actions was also presented.
In addition, today there were reports from the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Defense Intelligence on the prospects for the near future, the opportunities and challenges that the terrorist state has. We are working to further limit Russia's ability to wage this war.
In particular, there was a report on our long-range drones. The head of the Security Service of Ukraine Maliuk reported on their use. Thank you, guys, thank you for your precision! And we are developing this capability. This is already our real strategic branch of the defense industry – a branch that will always work for Ukraine.
The Commander of the Air Force also reported at the meeting on the improvement of our air defense. Minister of Internal Affairs Klymenko reported on the preparation of our schools for the new school year in terms of security. Today, the world celebrates the International Day of Indigenous Peoples to show annual solidarity with them.
In Ukraine, these are the Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krymchaks who have their historical homeland — Crimea.
Crimea, which has many homes waiting for their owners — families who have preserved and passed on traditions from generation to generation.
Crimea, which was illegally occupied and turned into a springboard for an unprovoked war.
Crimea, which is waiting for liberation. And it will definitely be liberated.
The struggle for what is ours — people, territory, culture — continues.
My deepest gratitude and respect to each and every one of you who, with arms in hand, achieves victory and stands for freedom and independence.
