❗️ Olha Saladukha, the Head of the Subcommittee on High Performance Sports and Sports Activities of the Youth and Sports Committee, together with representatives of the Ukrainian NOC, athletes and show business stars, took part in a symbolic event — the launch of the countdown to the start of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
This is a milestone event because there is not much time left and we need to make the most of it. Ukrainian athletes have already won 67 Olympic licences and are still in the running. I am convinced that athletics, as the queen of sports, will become the leading discipline at the upcoming Olympics in terms of the number of achievements,
Every victory is important to us. It is not only personal achievements, but also the prestige of the country... Thus, we have more opportunities to attract help and defeat the enemy,
It is important to help Ukraine protect its airspace in the same way as in Israel.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Siliņa, after a meeting with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs.
"Latvia, together with other Baltic states and EU members, will continue to support Ukraine by looking for air defence options to complement what has already been done," she said.
🇺🇦🤝🇱🇻 We are grateful to Latvia and all the Baltic states for their help and efforts to reliably protect Ukrainian skies from russian terror.
‼️ To save lives, to protect civilian and critical infrastructure with an air shield, to protect Ukrainian cities and homes from destruction. Today, this is the No. 1 task for the international community, our allies, friends and partners!

🌾Agrarians are making every effort to ensure the 2024 harvest and food security of the country, — the Committee of Agrarian and Land Policy.
According to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in 2024, the gross production of grains and oilseeds will be about 74 million tonnes.
This includes about 52.4 million tonnes of grain and 21.7 million tonnes of oilseeds.
Last year, weather conditions favoured the harvest. Thus, in 2023, gross production totalled about 82 million tonnes, of which more than 60 million tonnes were grains and about 22 million tonnes were oilseeds.
The forecasts for the gross harvest in 2024 are preliminary and will be adjusted throughout the year depending on the circumstances, primarily weather conditions.
It is expected that this year farmers will be able to harvest the following volumes of grain:
wheat - 19.2 million tonnes;
barley - 4.9 million tonnes;
corn - 26.7 million tonnes;
soybeans - 5.2 million tonnes;
sunflower - 12.4 million tonnes, etc.
To defend peace & democracy, we must reinforce our security & defence structures, intensify the delivery of equipment that Ukraine desperately needs.
At the same time we must be ready to counter Russia's attempts to interfere with our democratic decision-making processes.

The participants of the meeting outlined plans for future joint work on:

- effective use of the so-called "sports diplomacy" to convey truthful information about the aggression and war crimes of the russian federation.

The working meeting was held within the framework of the inter-factional association of MPs "National Sports Platform" with the President of the NOC of Ukraine Vadym Huttsait and the First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Yurii Muzyka.
I would like to thank everyone in our Armed Forces of Ukraine who prepares special operations — especially important operations, crucial operations that destroy the equipment of the Russian army and their combat infrastructure. Today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have carried out a correct strike against the occupier in Dzhankoi, targeting the airfield. Thank you, warriors! Thank you for your precision. Thank you, Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi for organizing this operation. The occupier must lose, and each of their losses is Ukraine's strength.
Thank you, everyone who fights and works for Ukraine! Thank you, everyone who supports us!
Glory to Ukraine!

Defence and security is one of the main topics in the run-up to the European Parliament elections.
Its importance has increased during the parliamentary term, especially against the backdrop of russia's aggressive war against Ukraine.

🇺🇦🇲🇩 The territorial integrity, stability and immutability of Moldova's European integration course are very important for Ukraine, — the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
This was discussed at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine Valeriu Chiveri.
In particular, we touched upon preparations for the referendum on Moldova's accession to the European Union, which was recognised as constitutional. It can take place as early as October 2024. We also discussed joint counteraction to russian propaganda and disinformation, which is constantly trying to destabilise the situation in our countries.
I thanked Moldova for its humanitarian support to Ukraine and care for tens of thousands of our internally displaced persons who have received temporary shelter. We also discussed strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The Ambassador of Moldova Valeriu Chiveri expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian people for their resilience and unwavering fight against russian aggression.
russia's missile attack on our Chernihiv. Already 10 dead, more than 20 wounded... 🙏🏼Condolences to all the families and friends of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured.
Every day we pay a terrible price for the uncertainty and slowness of the international community in making decisions. Nothing prevents from joining forces, showing determination and political will and finally shielding the Ukrainian sky from the missiles and drones of the terrorist country. We have been asking for this since 2022!
Ukrainians just want to live peacefully at home, on their native land. And if the international community does not value human life, does not fight for its protection, then the world will sooner or later slip into total darkness, war and terror. In dark times when the right of force and barbarism will prevail over universal values.
The Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk

Chernihiv.
In the morning, russia resorted to terror once again, firing missiles at the city centre.
There are dead and dozens of injured civilians. My sincere condolences to the families and friends of those people.
Ukraine needs to be protected.
Peaceful cities need additional air defence systems.
The world cannot wait!
We need the support of our allies.
The price of delay is human lives.

During the event "A decade of transformation towards a virtuous future: implementation of anti-corruption and rule of law reforms in Ukraine with the support of the EU", the progress of reforms and their results were discussed.
As a candidate country for EU membership, I believe that we must accelerate the pace of reforms. Over the past 10 years, not only the anti-corruption infrastructure has changed, but also people — society's expectations of the authorities and politicians have become much higher. At the same time, we have another side of the situation — our accession to the EU, which also has certain expectations, including transparency and accountability.
Regarding the role of the Parliament on this track. We have demonstrated a fairly high capacity to make European integration decisions and will maintain and strengthen this level.
We are grateful to our partners, in particular the EU, for their support of rule of law reforms.
The First Vice Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko
❗️ On 15 April, the European Commission agreed on a reform plan for Ukraine (Ukraine Plan) under the Ukraine Facility, which sets out the conditions for receiving €50 billion of macro-financial assistance in 2024-2027.
For the first time, the Economic Development Committee heard and discussed information on the status of the Ukraine Plan on 19 October 2023.
This plan is a specific list of structural reforms and measures that will serve as a programme for the country's recovery and economic development for the next 4 years.
According to the European Commission, the Ukraine Plan identifies key reforms and investments that will contribute to sustainable economic growth and attract investment to enhance the country's growth potential in the medium and long term.
The Committee for Economic Development is sincerely grateful to our European partners and allies for this decision and emphasises that only by working together we can protect our freedom, our lands, our people and rebuild our country!
❗️ On the fourth day of its work, the PACE adopted a number of decisions that are significant for Ukraine, in particular, the Assembly adopted an important resolution on the security of the seas and oceans as part of the human right to a clean environment.
The author of the resolution, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, Yuliia Ovchynnykova, made a presentation on the resolution. The resolution was adopted with 68 votes in favour.
The document, in particular, calls for the adoption of an environmental treaty for Ukraine, and draws attention to the problems of the Black and Azov Seas in connection with russia's war against Ukraine.
Yevheniia Kravchuk also registered a proposal for a PACE resolution on "Eliminating gender stereotypes in the media". The document is already available on the Assembly's website.
A conference call with key reports. The Commander-in-Chief reported on the frontline, our operations and results. The Minister of Defense reported on the supply of weapons, equipment and communication with partners. There were important results of our domestic defense production: in particular, we managed to increase the number of Bohdana howitzers we produce monthly to 10. This is a good result. In general, there are positive aspects in arms production. We especially appreciate everything related to the production of drones and shells. I am always grateful to every company and every manufacturer that provides our Defense and Security Forces with everything they need.
There were also reports on the regions – on the elimination of the consequences of Russian strikes, and the overall security situation. We discussed the situation in the border communities, including the information field, the access of people to the Ukrainian television signal and the blocking of Russian propaganda. Our own, Ukrainian, technical developments should also help with this.
Glory to everyone who defends our country, our people, and Ukrainian life! Glory to everyone who achieves results for Ukraine.
Glory to Ukraine!
❗️ The Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Oleksandr Haidu held a working meeting with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.
The participants discussed the need to adopt in the first reading the European integration draft Law of Ukraine "On Hops and Hop Products" (No. 9234-d), which proposes to regulate the hop industry in accordance with the action plan for the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU.
Among the EU countries, Germany, the Czech Republic, France and Poland are among the most developed hop growing countries.
Ukraine produces enough hops to independently supply all (industry) breweries with high-quality hops. The main area of hop plantations (74%) is concentrated in Zhytomyr region. Other hop plantations are located in Lviv, Khmelnytskyi and Rivne regions.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to further cooperate in the development of urgent legislative initiatives.
❗️ We are once again convening the NATO-Ukraine Council because our partners need to be encouraged to transfer air and missile defence systems. russia is destroying our energy infrastructure — and this is not because we missed the attacks, but because of a banal lack of missiles for air defence systems, said Yehor Chernev, the Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee, Head of the Parliamentary Delegation to the NATO PA.
Our partners are well aware of what we need, but every time we emphasise the need for specific assistance, we raise this issue to the highest level. This is how we appear in the Western media, and this creates a kind of pressure on the part of society on governments to increase assistance to Ukraine,
If we declare that we live by the rules enshrined in the UN Charter, where states have no right to revise borders by force, then let's defend these principles.Читать полностью…

❗️ PACE Resolution on the use of frozen assets of the russian federation in favour of Ukraine will be implemented in specific economic decisions at the level of each country, — the Deputy Member of the Permanent Delegation to PACE Olena Moshenets.
This decision is still at the political level, but the political mechanism should be implemented in specific economic decisions at the level of each country. We already have precedents when PACE became the driving force behind certain decisions. For example, this applies to the Register of Damages, which has already been launched,
Each country will make progress in this area, as different countries have different property laws. But the main thing is that this decision has been supported and we will continue to look for tools to implement it.Читать полностью…

🇺🇦🤝🇦🇿 I am pleased to meet again with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev, — the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
I thanked Azerbaijan for continuing humanitarian aid to Ukraine and for hosting Ukrainian children from war-affected regions in Baku for holidays.
We greatly appreciate the contribution of Azerbaijan to the humanitarian demining of Ukraine. This is a huge challenge for us. Our Azerbaijani friends not only have considerable experience in demining the de-occupied territories, but also produce special equipment.
We continue to work closely with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine to develop interparliamentary cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada and the Milli Majlis.
In particular, in organising mutual visits of the leadership and parliamentary groups and joint participation in international events.
