🇺🇦🥊 Oleksandr Khyzhniak has guaranteed a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in boxing!
The Ukrainian defeated his opponent from Brazil in the quarter-finals by a unanimous decision of the judges.
Reaching the semi-finals means that even in case of defeat, the Ukrainian will win a bronze medal.

I met with representatives of the Ukrainian business community.
We discussed important issues for Ukraine, Ukrainian parliamentarism, and the operation and development of Ukrainian business, particularly in the context of a full-scale war.
We focused on the fruitful relations between Ukraine and the United States of America, the global support for Ukraine, personnel changes in the Government of Ukraine, economic reservation and the reconstruction of our country.
Any parliament is a reflection of the people. I stressed that I am ready to continue discussing the list of decisions necessary for the development of Ukraine and its economy through a dialogue with business. I want these decisions to be adopted in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Today, these priority issues include the reboot and reform of customs and taxation.
I am grateful for the professional and frank conversation.

According to the MP, the Ukrainian House "Volia Space" at the 2024 Olympics demonstrates to the world how difficult it is to prepare for competitions in a time of war and how important it is to remember the fallen athletes.
Ukraine wants no neutral athletes from russia or belarus to participate in the Olympic Games.

❗️128 Ukrainian farmers have been killed by explosive devices since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion — the Agrarian Policy Committee.
Today, Ukraine is one of the most mine-contaminated countries in the world.
The contamination of Ukrainian land with explosives endangers the lives and health of about 6.37 million people. Farmers have been particularly affected by mines since February 2022, with 128 of them killed.
Today, the situation is most difficult in Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Donetsk regions. Ukraine needs $37 billion to clear landmines.
At the same time, the Government of Ukraine has approved a programme to compensate farmers for the costs of humanitarian demining of agricultural land, including for farmers who have cleared their own land. By the end of the year, the state budget provides UAH 3 billion to finance the programme.
Under the programme, the state will compensate 80% of the cost of humanitarian demining of agricultural land.

⏺ As part of the family reunification process envisaged by the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, a daughter and son from Luhansk region were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine and have already met their mother. Also, a woman returned to her native land and was reunited with her daughter.
❗️ In addition, the staff of our Office met with the staff of the Office of the russian ombudsperson, where both sides exchanged letters of prisoners of war under the 200-for-200 formula and discussed humanitarian issues.

Our relations with partners – we are preparing agreements and arrangements that will take place this August. These include security agreements – negotiations will begin tomorrow with another European country. We are also preparing the visits of leaders to Ukraine and, accordingly, the content of our negotiations and the long-term philosophy of our agreements. It is extremely important to ensure resilience for our state for years to come, which will guarantee greater capabilities for us now, this year, given the existing challenges and threats.
Of course, the key task is to support both the Defense Forces and the state budget, as well as to ensure Ukraine's social resilience. I am grateful to everyone in the world who helps us.
❗️ The Agrarian Policy Committee has prepared a draft law aimed at improving the quality of wine products.
A seminar for winemakers and winery technologists discussed problematic issues in the viticulture and winemaking industry on Ukraine's path to the European Union.
In particular, the participants reviewed the main defects of wine, the causes of undesirable changes in its properties that affect its quality, and methods of prevention.
It is necessary to stimulate the development of Ukrainian viticulture and winemaking enterprises so that this industry meets the standards and rules of the European Union.
Oleksandr Starynets, the Head of the Secretariat of the Agrarian Policy Committee, noted that the Committee has prepared a European integration draft Law of Ukraine "On Grapes and Viticulture Products" (No. 9139).
The draft law aims to:
🔹 improve the quality of wine products;
🔹 protect domestic producers;
🔹 simplify the entry of Ukrainian wine products into international markets.
🇺🇦 Vladyslav Bukhov, the 2024 World Champion in Doha in the 50m freestyle, took 4th place in the 50m freestyle qualifying heat and will continue to compete for Olympic medals in the semi-finals.

It is a great honour to congratulate our veterans on the successful completion of the certificate programme "Governance under Martial Law and Post-War Reconstruction".
This year, 39 veterans graduated, including 9 women veterans. Over the two years of the project's implementation, more than 90 of our defenders returning to civilian life have improved their skills and learnt the basics of governance.
About 5 million veterans will be in Ukraine after the victory. We must prepare for this. With great respect for the veteran community, we must adapt our lives to work together to rebuild the country. And it is very important that as many veterans as possible — patriotic and highly professional people — join the civil service and local self-government bodies.

The Verkhovna Rada Educational Centre is 5 years old! Its work has not stopped, neither during the COVID-19 pandemic nor with the outbreak of a full-scale war.
840 events held, 334,000 participants. Parliamentary lessons, online and offline meetings with schoolchildren and students.
I remember an incredible open parliamentary lesson on the occasion of Europe Day, in which I participated. It gathered a record 50,000 listeners online — high school and first-year students. These are great results!
But there is always room for improvement. We need to develop partnerships with educational and visitor centres of foreign parliaments. We should adopt the successful practices of the democracy laboratories in the US Congress and the Austrian Parliament.
We must appreciate and support the team behind the daily work of the VRU Educational Centre. They put their hearts and souls into the work of the Educational Centre. And this gives us all inspiration and strength.

Our sincere condolences to her family and friends!
We remember Iryna exclusively as a professional scientist and philologist who always defended the interests of Ukraine during her patriotic and vivid political activity in the Parliament of the VII convocation.
Violence of any form must be condemned. Responsibility must be inevitable for the perpetrators.
No one has the right to take a human life.

Iryna Farion was a linguist, philologist, scholar, professor, and Member of Parliament of Ukraine of the VII convocation.
The events in Lviv once again show that terror and violence in any form are unacceptable.

There was a report from Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi regarding the frontline situation. And of course, most attention was paid to the Pokrovsk direction. This is where the fighting remains the most intense, and this direction requires our most intensive responses to the occupier.
Each brigade, each unit in the Pokrovsk direction – all our warriors who are maintaining their resilience there and defending our positions despite the Russian assaults, are in many ways also holding the foundation of the defense of the entire eastern part of our country. At the same time, we do not diminish our attention to all other directions on the front – in the Donetsk region, as well as in the Kharkiv region and our southern regions.
I am grateful to everyone whose courage is fully working for Ukraine.

Today, Ukrainian athletes competed in the high jump qualification at the Paris Olympics.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Iryna Gerashchenko reached the finals with a result of 1.95 metres.
Athlete Mykhailo Kokhan successfully competed in the hammer throw qualification. Mykhailo showed a result of 77.42 metres and reached the final.

❗️ Fears of partners about escalation with russia are unmotivated — the Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee Yehor Chernev.
The main points of the MP:

🇺🇸🇺🇦 A few days in Washington, two dozen meetings and the main goal is to speed up the provision of assistance to Ukraine, — Roksolana Pidlasa, the Chair of the Committee on Budget:
The task, in particular, is to convey to senators, the US State Department, congressional members, and NGOs that Ukraine will still need direct budget support next year in the amount of $12-13 billion (the total need is $37 billion, but it will be partially covered by the IMF, the Ukraine Facility, and other governments).
We are grateful for the political decision to use russia's frozen assets to provide a $50 billion loan, but we need to develop a clear mechanism for transferring these funds by the end of 2024.
Separately, we had meetings with the IMF and the World Bank to discuss changes to the 2024 budget and the sources of their funding. The realism and implementation of the budget is the main programme of cooperation with the IMF, which we expect to review in early September.

Every year on 2 August, the victims of the Nazi genocide of Roma are commemorated internationally. It was on the night of 2 to 3 August 1944 that the Nazis murdered more than 4,000 Roma prisoners in the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.
Taking into account the large scale and irreparable social consequences of the Roma Holocaust, their socially vulnerable current situation in places of compact residence, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted on 8 October 2004 the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine No. 2085-IV "On the commemoration of the International Day of the Roma Genocide".

The Volia Space Ukrainian House in Paris hosted a presentation of the Revived multimedia project about Ukrainian athletes who became victims of russian aggression. As of today, 489 Ukrainian athletes have been killed.
We must use every opportunity to tell the world the truth about the war in Ukraine. People need to know what is happening in our country. This is no less important than performing at the Olympic Games. When people know the truth, they will put pressure on their governments to help Ukraine more actively,
❗️ Ukraine is building direct chains of cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries, says Dmytro Natalukha, the Chairman of the Economic Development Committee.
According to the MP, it is important to strengthen cooperation between the countries in the areas of mechanical engineering, precision machinery, equipment, etc.
The Chairman of the Committee led an inter-factional parliamentary delegation to Latin America and the Caribbean.
First of all, we are trying to convince these countries to become more actively involved in the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. For example, Chile has already committed itself to the fifth point of the Peace Formula, which concerns the restoration of territorial integrity. Argentina is actively working in the same direction. The second issue is the return of our children deported by russia. Our partners understand this tragedy, and they are ready to act as mediators,

In June 2024, the Parliament ratified the Council of Europe Convention on Joint Film Production. In autumn, PACE will present the film Intercepted, which aims to show that war is a threat to the entire Western world.

Iryna Farion died in hospital after an assassination attempt. A contract shot ended her life.
May she be forever remembered as a scholar and politician who loved the Ukrainian language above all else.

❗️ The Educational Centre of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine celebrated its 5th anniversary
The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stressed that the creation of a parliamentary education centre is a very progressive and right idea that will ensure the sustainability and continuity of the history of Ukrainian parliamentarism.
Over the past five years, the Educational Centre has held almost 900 events, involving more than 300,000 participants.
