Together with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, we visited Lychakiv Cemetery to pay tribute to the heroes who died for Ukraine.
The Czech Republic will soon celebrate its Statehood Day on 28 September. The Czech Republic's independence was not easy, just like Ukraine's. Many Czech heroes also fell fighting for their country.
🇨🇿🇺🇦 Together, we bow our heads before the feat of all those who gave their lives for our freedom, dignity and independence.

This morning, we have been in Lviv together with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Markéta Pekárová Adamová.
We immediately went to the scene of the destruction caused by the nighttime russian missile attack.
More than fifty houses were damaged. Two hospitals and two schools were also hit.
Sadly, there are seven dead, including three children. At least 38 people were injured, including some seriously wounded children.
This is yet another terrorist attack and war crime committed by the russian federation, which Ms Markéta witnessed with her own eyes.
Given the intensification of russian terror against the civilian population, I appealed to the Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies to use all opportunities, both within the country and in inter-parliamentary diplomacy, to facilitate the transfer of modern air defence systems to Ukraine.

🕯 A difficult, painful, tragic day. At today's meeting, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine observed a minute of silence for all those killed in Poltava as a result of a russian missile strike.
The Ukrainian Parliament also appealed to the governments of the Group of Seven (G7) member states:
◼️ To lift all restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range Western-made weapons to strike military targets in the territory of the russian federation;
◼️ to agree to the use of air defences of NATO and European Union partner states to shoot down russian missiles and UAVs approaching their airspace.
How many more Ukrainians must die?
Words of sympathy for the Ukrainian people are no longer enough. Western leaders and partners must act and make bold decisions!
Ukraine must be given the right and opportunity to retaliate against legitimate russian military targets in self-defence.

🇪🇺🎙Public Broadcasting is a reform. A thematic conference in Kyiv discussed challenges to freedom of speech during the war and the role of Public Broadcasting in Ukraine's European integration
They also considered the contribution of Public Broadcasting to the creation of quality content and its impact on the media market. They also discussed digital platforms and Ukrainian Radio, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary on 16 November.
Representatives of the broadcaster said that in the coming years, the priority for the broadcaster is to maintain and deepen the trust of the audience, to interact more closely with society on the basis of independent and honest journalism, to create influential content and to strengthen public security and Ukrainian culture.
I hope we will defend the funding and independence of UA:PBC at the proper level,
❗️ The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appealed to the Parliaments and Governments of the Group of Seven member states(No. 11537).
The Parliament seeks to consolidate the efforts of foreign states in further supporting Ukraine in countering the armed aggression of the russian federation.
The appeal, in particular, contains such important calls as:
🔹 to lift all restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range western-made weapons to strike all legitimate military targets in the territory of the russian federation;
🔹 to agree to use the air defence capabilities of partner countries within NATO and the European Union to shoot down russian missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles approaching their airspace;
🔹 to promote active participation of UN member states in the implementation of the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and consolidation of efforts to provide military, technical, financial and economic assistance to Ukraine.
❗️ The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the Law of Ukraine on Ukraine's Accession to the Agreement Establishing the International Fund for Agricultural Development (No. 0282).
The draft law was submitted by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development is a global forum for discussing important issues of agricultural development, food security and the role of agriculture in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Ukraine's accession to the Agreement Establishing the International Fund for Agricultural Development will:
🔹facilitate the expansion of international cooperation in the agri-food sector;
🔹allow attracting additional financial resources to the development of agriculture in the country, in particular the development of land reclamation.

💔 "...I am a very creative person, I am interested in the culture and history of my country and in the future I want to develop the culture of Ukraine and tell the whole world about it. This passion arose in me thanks to my family, who always shared with me stories about the trials that our ancestors went through as a result of world wars, the Holodomor and the soviet union."
These are the words from a motivation letter for a scholarship at the Ukrainian Catholic University by Daryna Bazylevych from Lviv.

🇺🇦 33 years ago, on 4 September, a historic event took place — in 1991, the National blue and yellow Flag was raised for the first time over the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine!
This event was significant because the blue and yellow flag was raised over the building of the state body that determines the future of our country.
It was the Parliament that made fateful decisions that determined the path of Ukraine's development as a European, democratic state.
Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ensures European integration by implementing the necessary reforms to bring Ukraine closer to European standards.
We bow our heads and remember those who laid down their lives to ensure that the symbol of our unity, dignity and freedom continues to fly over the Ukrainian parliament. For it symbolises our path to the European future that we are building together.

Everyone is being provided with the necessary assistance. I am grateful to all the rescuers, doctors, medical nurses and all the Poltava residents who have joined in to help, donated blood, and who provide support. We know that there are people under the rubble of the destroyed building. Everything is being done to save as many lives as possible. According to current information available, this Russian strike killed 51 people. My condolences to all the families and friends.
