We don’t want to continue our education further with this college he was giving life threatening statements when we didn’t do anything…we can’t imagine how toxic the college environment will be after this step. We want university to overtake our exams, practicals and internship too. And we are trying to convince VCI that his affiliation should be cancelled now.

Due to the government's silence, the veterinary students were forced to go on a hunger strike so that the health of the students deteriorated and they were not shifted to the capital's big medical centers. The government alone is responsible for the loss of health of the Komalmati students.

Taurine is an amino acid that plays a crucial role in the health and well-being of cats.
🐱What is Taurine?
- Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid found in various animal tissues. It is not considered an essential amino acid for humans but is essential for cats.
🐱Importance for Cats
- Cats cannot synthesize taurine efficiently in their bodies, so they must obtain it from their diet. This makes taurine an essential nutrient for felines.
🐱Functions of Taurine in Cats
- Vision
Taurine is crucial for maintaining healthy retinas and good eyesight in cats. A deficiency can lead to vision problems, including blindness.
- Cardiac Health
Taurine is vital for the proper functioning of the heart. A deficiency can lead to a condition known as dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), which can be life-threatening.
- Reproduction
Taurine is necessary for the normal development of kittens in utero. Pregnant and nursing cats require higher levels of taurine.
- Digestive Health
Taurine supports healthy digestion and the absorption of nutrients in cats.
🐱Sources of Taurine for Cats
- Taurine is primarily found in animal-based proteins, such as meat, fish, and poultry. High-quality commercial cat foods are formulated to provide sufficient taurine levels.
- Cats are obligate carnivores, meaning their diets should consist primarily of animal-derived proteins to meet their taurine requirements.
🐱Taurine Deficiency
- Taurine deficiency can lead to various health issues in cats, including heart problems, poor vision, and reproductive complications.
- Historically, some homemade or poorly formulated cat diets lacking sufficient animal proteins have caused taurine deficiencies.
🐱Supplementation
- Commercial cat foods are typically fortified with taurine to ensure that cats receive an adequate amount in their diet.
- If you're feeding your cat homemade food, it's crucial to consult with a veterinarian to ensure it meets their nutritional needs, including taurine.
🐱Health Implications
- Taurine deficiency-related conditions, like DCM, can be life-threatening and require immediate veterinary attention.
- Regular veterinary check-ups and feeding a balanced, high-quality cat food are key to preventing taurine deficiency in cats.
