Rep. Thomas Suozzi (D-NY) said he’s actively seeking a bipartisan deal:“I think that most Democrats and Republicans are ready to make a deal.”
“They’re ready to secure the border.”
[It’s already been secured.]
“Fix the broken asylum system and to legalize a bunch of people that have been here for 10 and 20 and 30 years.”
He specifically mentioned Dreamers, TPS recipients, and “essential workers”.
“The problem is, is that the president has not indicated his willingness to make a deal yet and no Republicans going want to go out in front of the president.”
Suozzi cited Trump’s recent remarks:
“Maybe we shouldn’t be going after all these people working in farming because probably half the people in farming in America are undocumented.”
“And maybe you shouldn’t be going after all these people in hospitality because a lot of those folks are undocumented and we don’t want to destroy the economy.”
“There’s so many other people… that have been here a long time, have no criminal record, and want to make the world a better place.”
The push for mass amnesty is back—and they’re betting Trump might support it.

Liberal guest tries interrupting: “Okay, wait a minute.”
HUNT: “Hold on. This is a contrast that we were talking about on why you lost, because we are talking about a man that’s talking about patriotism. And in parades like that, when I was growing up, I served because I used to go to these parades and watch my dad participate in them.
“I saw the Blackhawks landing. I visited my sister at West Point. I said, ‘By God, I want to serve this country, too.’ And so the dichotomy of what we’re seeing with President Trump and his patriotism—saluting the flag, actually making an effort—whether you like it or agree with the execution, the effort is there. That’s all we want to see.”
My gosh, that was beautifully said.
Maher had no comeback. He was forced to retreat and ended up thanking Hunt for his service.

NEW: Senator Johnson says he's confident the Senate can get the “One Big Beautiful Bill” to Trump’s desk by July.
This is sounding much more encouraging.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) says he’s working hard to resolve spending issues in the president’s signature bill, but he’s optimistic about the timeline.
“I think we can do it before the August recess, yes, and maybe even sooner than that.”
Still, Johnson acknowledged the hurdles:
“It depends on how quick we can resolve these issues. The minute we change something, the House screams, ‘We can't pass that.’”
“That's why I argued for a multiple step approach, but the president wanted one big, beautiful bill. We're dealing with that.”
He laid out how the Congress is now aligned on the same mission.
“It is more complex, it is more difficult to pass, but the good news is we are dedicated to helping the president achieve his agenda—to succeed, to have America succeed.”
And he made one thing clear:
“My higher loyalty is to our children and grandchildren. We are mortgaging their future. It's unconscionable, it's immoral. It has to stop and we've got to work diligently at that.”
