BREAKING: NYT reports Iran coordinated missile attack on U.S. base with Qatar ahead of launch.
The New York Times is now reporting that Iran’s missile attack on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar may have been more symbolic than strategic.
According to the Times:
“Iran coordinated the attacks on the American air base in Qatar with Qatari officials and gave advance notice that attacks were coming to minimize casualties, according to three Iranian officials familiar with the plans.”
The report suggests that the strike was carefully calibrated to send a political message...without triggering full-scale war.
“The officials said Iran symbolically needed to strike back at the U.S. but at the same time carry it out in a way that allowed all sides an exit ramp; they described it as a similar strategy to 2020 when Iran gave Iraq heads up before firing ballistic missiles [at] an American base in Iraq following the assassination of its top general.”
If true, it would mean the Iranian regime aimed to appear strong....while avoiding the real consequences of striking the U.S. military head-on.

In a rebuke of his own party, Democrat Senator John Fetterman is defending President Trump from impeachment threats launched by radical left-wing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Following Trump’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, AOC floated the idea of impeachment......again.
But Fetterman made it clear: this effort is dead on arrival.
“She knows it, I know it, we all know it. That’s not going anywhere,” Fetterman said bluntly.
He reminded viewers that Trump has already been impeached twice....but remains politically resilient.
“You know, he has been impeached twice and now he is still our president as well now, too. It is not going anywhere.”
Then he delivered the real blow to AOC’s narrative.
“I don’t think that’s helpful,” he said.
“And I think if you throw that term around, that actually diminishes the severity of what impeachment is actually reserved for.”

NOW: Trump Responds to Iran’s Symbolic Missile Strike— “No Americans Harmed”
It looks like the attack was just theater.
President Trump has issued a statement on Truth Social following Iran’s apparent retaliatory strike, calling it weak, symbolic, and expected.
Trump confirmed that the U.S. received advanced warning before the missiles were launched.
“Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered. There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was ‘set free,’ because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction.”
“I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done.”
Trump suggested Iran’s move was more about saving face than provoking further conflict and urged all parties to move toward peace.
“Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE.”
“I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured.”
“Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.”
“Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he concluded.
