It's a bit unfair to charge anything for small coinjoins. Additionally, there's going to be someone who eventually offers the coordination service for free anyways, so you might as well start the bid there.

The reason is liquidity. If you are a larger participant in a round with a lot of smaller inputs, then your coins have less other possible users to match with. This causes the privacy progress to increase slowly at first while it breaks your coins into smaller chunks that fit better with the other users.

I doubt it, unless I need to stop the service and encourage others to switch. So, if I'm shutting down in 6 months I would notify people using Nostr that in 30 days the fee is increasing to 0.1%, and the next month after that it's increasing to 0.2% etc.

You don't need to split your UTXOs manually, it will only cost you extra fees. Wasabi splits them automatically directly in the coinjoin which is the best for privacy/efficiency.
