They aren't in the chat on the account they are scamming with, they PM people from outside the chat.

If you are coinjoining using a coordinator with a low amount of liquidity, there may be outcomes that lead to your % dropping. I don't think this will ever decrease your real privacy though (even if the score shown becomes worse).
