Ginger Wallet client has an implementation and does check whether it gets the remix exemption from the coordinator.
In case of the Wasabi client the decision was to remove the fee feature instead of implementing the checking as the Turbolay mentioned article writes it.

In general it is bad to spend your full wallet balance. This is because it lets you vulnerable to amount matching deanonimization techniques where an outside observer can conclude that you have injected 0.123456 BTC in coinjoins to get back 0.123456 - fees BTC at the end. The usual preconization is to avoid to consolidate all your coins in one transaction.

In general if you are within the crowd (i.e. not a single whale), then post mix consolidation has an impact pretty limited. The best would however always be to send a payment into coinjoin

There's a lot of different aspects to consider. Higher value payments inherently have worse privacy than low value payments. Additionally, payments that consolidate many inputs have worse privacy than payments that use fewer inputs.

0.2 BTC isn't enough to be worried about this though. If you want to be extra cautious, you can remix more by increasing your anonymity score target before you spend your coins.
