NEW: DHS confirms that a suspect arrested in Illinois for being found in possession of eight Molotov cocktails is a Jordanian illegal alien who was caught and released at the California border by the Biden administration in 2024. DHS says Hamed Mohammed Hamed Alsaidi was arrested by ICE after local police in Will County, IL arrested him, then released him and refused to honor ICE’s detainer request due to sanctuary policies & Illinois’ SAFE-T Act.
He was seen wandering aimlessly in traffic and gave officers a fake name. Once he was arrested, officers learned his real name and discovered the Molotov cocktails, which had gauze stuck in the tops of them to use as a wick.
Police say he also had a written map of the area, including a local train station, and the words “you see the mosque” written down.
Alsaidi is charged locally with felony unlawful possession of a weapon and misdemeanor obstructing identification and remains in ICE custody.

President Trump is signing two Executive Orders to protect the meaning and value of American citizenship after Trump v. Barbara:
— The first Executive Order non-exhaustively identifies certain categories of children of aliens who are not entitled to birthright citizenship consistent with historical exceptions to birthright citizenship recognized by the Supreme Court in Barbara.
— The second Executive Order delegates presidential authorities to the Secretary of State and Secretary of Homeland Security and directs them to halt the practice of birth tourism.

Gann Fire updates: Conditions wind down, but flames destroyed 7 structures
Firefighting crews in Calaveras County are getting a better handle on a wildfire that destroyed homes, injured a firefighter and forced hundreds to evacuate. Cal Fire said the Gann Fire started shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday near Hogan Dam and Gann roads near New Hogan Lake. When it first began, large columns of smoke and fast-moving flames threatened nearby residents, prompting evacuation orders. Conditions appear much calmer. KCRA 3's Melanie Wingo was along a hillside near New Hogan Lake on Wednesday, showing large, active flames. At that same location Thursday morning, her vantage point was pitch-black.

Sacramento Judge sides with AG Rob Bonta and rejects petition by Yes on 39 campaign over title/summary.
Voters will officially see “PROHIBITS CITIZENS FROM VOTING UNLESS THEY PRESENT GOV’T ISSUED IDENTIFICATION” on the ballot, Ashley Zavala reports.
TLDR: Judge basically said the ballot description is accurate and what the AG did was legal.

FOX NEWS: Sen. Mitch McConnell is heading home after being discharged from rehab, but his return to the Senate doesn't appear imminent.
McConnell said in a statement: “On the advice of my doctors, I’ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I’ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business.”
It’s considered doubtful McConnell returns to the Senate before the fall.

Incredible progress has been made on wildfires in both Washington and Oregon. This is a view of nighttime firing Ops on the Kaiser Canyon Fire near Nespelem, WA. The fire is now 136,870 acres and 52% contained. Next door, the Sinlahekin Fire is 126,168 acres.
Down in Oregon, the larger complex fires all have significant containment, with the least contained fires in the PNW being those in wilderness areas. There are 436 crews, 1,033 engines, and 94 helicopters in the region, for a total of 18,637 fire personnel assigned to PNW fires.

HHS has begun decertifying Network for Hope, the organ procurement organization serving Kentucky and parts of Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia.
Federal investigators found cases where organ procurement preparations continued despite patients showing neurological signs inconsistent with donation. Officials said some patients MAY NOT HAVE BEEN DECEASED when the process was initiated.
One of the cases involved a man hospitalized after a drug overdose who showed signs of life during the organ donation process. He SURVIVED.
RFK Jr. called the organization a “bad apple” and said patient safety comes FIRST.
Organ donation depends on TRUST.
