BREAKING: Mass casualty event in Lancaster, California.
Multiple injuries are reported after a bus crash in Lancaster on Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Rescue crews are on the scene in the area of Sierra Highway and West Avenue C. According to CHP, a city bus overturned and landed on its side after crossing the railroad tracks.
A medical helicopter has been requested for a young boy who is among those injured. Crews on scene reported as many as 20 patients.

BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL PASSES SENATE IN 51 TO 50 VOTE WITH JD VANCE BREAKING TIE
The three Republicans who voted against the bill were Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Rand Paul (R-KY).
Last week, a number of provisions were removed from the bill after Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough determined that the portions of the legislation did not follow the "Byrd Rule," a legislative rule involved in the budget reconciliation process to remove provisions the parliamentarian says cannot be passed with a simple majority vote. Some of those provisions involved reforms to Medicaid, the blocking of federal funds from going to sex change operations for children, as well as many others.
She also removed a tax exemption for religious schools' endowments, as well as a measure that would have deregulated gun silencers and some concealed firearms.

PHILADELPHIA'S LARGEST BLUE-COLLAR WORKERS' UNION GOES ON STRIKE FOR FIRST TIME IN NEARLY 40 YEARS
AFSCME District Council 33, repping 9,000 city workers, walked out after contract talks with Mayor Parker’s admin collapsed. Trash is now beginning to pile up on the streets as residents are asked to use one of 63 drop-off sites.
The strike also affects rec center programs, 911 dispatch, airport ops workers, some Water Dept staff, and other city employees, including the Dept of Public Health, Dept of Revenue services and License and Inspection enforcement.
Crossing guards working near 63 schools with summer programming are part of the union and are expected to walk off the job. The school district is asking parents to make sure they have a plan for their children to get to and from the schools safely during the strike.
Hours into the strike on Tuesday, a judge ordered more than 200 911 dispatchers to return to work.

NEARLY 50 POWER POLES WIPED OUT IN LAS VEGAS WINDSTORM, REPAIR EFFORTS UNDERWAY
As of 7 p.m. on Tuesday, approximately 272 outages were reported, impacting 20,485 customers, according to NV Energy. The outages were primarily caused by severe winds, with gusts reaching up to 70 miles per hour in some areas, surpassing initial forecasts.
The company reported that nearly 50 poles have been damaged by the wind and will need replacement.
