Statement on Attempted Robbery and Shooting Involving San Francisco 49er Ricky Pearsall
During the preliminary investigation, officers learned one of the subjects attempted to rob the victim, San Francisco 49ers player Ricky Pearsall. During the attempted robbery, a physical altercation ensued, and both the suspect and victim were injured. The suspect is in custody and charges are pending at this time. All information is preliminary, and more information will be provided as it becomes available. Media availability will be held this evening at San Francisco General Hospital.

NEW: COPPER THIEVES TARGET CARSON CEMETERY: The Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery has had crypts broken into, headstones smashed, and nameplates stolen.
The cemetery was abandoned by the owner last year and visitors say it has no water or power, and grave robbers are taking advantage of the dead.
Several people I spoke with today were almost in tears visiting family members, confused about who is in charge of the cemetery. The city says the state has jurisdiction.
We have reached out to LA County Supervisor Holly Mitchell who said last year when the cemetery was abandoned, that she was looking into other options to keep the cemetery maintained, but she was not immediately available.

A man arrested late in July in connection with a shooting in Aurora is a documented member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, the Aurora Police Department confirmed Friday.
Jhonardy Jose Pacheco-Chirino, 22, also known as “Cookie” or “Galleta,” was arrested on July 28 after police responded to a shooting at about 4:30 a.m. outside of 1568 Nome St.
Two men were shot in the incident and a third was injured with a broken ankle.

A homeowner stabbed an intruder who had broken into his home early Friday morning. According to reports, the suspect, a man in his mid-20s, was confronted by the homeowner’s daughter before a violent struggle ensued. The intruder, though injured, managed to flee but was soon arrested by LAPD officers. Thankfully, no one inside the home was harmed.
