ABC News says Joe Biden will sit down with Stephanopoulos on Friday for his first television interview since last week's presidential debate.
The president's poor performance in the debate has garnered calls for him to drop out of the race by politicians on both sides of the aisle.
Biden will speak to "Good Morning America" and "This Week" anchor George Stephanopoulos for the interview. A first look will air on the Friday, July 5, edition of "World News Tonight with David Muir" with portions airing on Saturday and Sunday on "Good Morning America."
The extended interview will air Sunday, July 7, on "This Week" and Monday's episode of "Good Morning America."

Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., plans to pursue a recount after Virginia’s elections board certified the results of his primary, which show the House Freedom Caucus chair narrowly trailing his Republican challenger.

BREAKING: Conservative hardliner Bob Good has officially lost his race against Trump-backed John McGuire in a contentious primary, according to Virginia election officials.
The race was so close that it took weeks for the results to come out.
McGuire officially beat Good in the primary on Tuesday after the final tally found him ahead by just 374 votes.
The right-wing Freedom Caucus chair lost the support of the president when he initially endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over him. He also turned off a number of House colleagues when he voted to oust Kevin McCarthy from the speakership.

Supreme Court orders another review of gun charge behind Hunter Biden's conviction
Hunter Biden's lawyer has vowed to appeal his conviction on gun charges, but the Supreme Court on Tuesday told another defendant challenging the same law as unconstitutional to have his case reviewed again by an appeals court.
Patrick Darnell Daniels Jr.’s case is part of a flood of Second Amendment challenges following a landmark Supreme Court decision in 2022. Daniels has challenged a federal law that bans gun possession for anyone who “is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance.”
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned his conviction and the Justice Department asked the Supreme Court to resolve the dispute. The justices told him to return to that court for a fresh decision based on a recent high court ruling that upheld disarming domestic abusers.
