Another big update

Deposits and withdrawals of Horizen (ZEN) are closed due to the update before the hard fork. The hard fork is expected on June 7, 2023, at 1 p.m. (UTC) at block # 1 363 115.

The update will improve Horizen's sidechain technology, tools for developers, as well as fix minor bugs found in the protocol.

Horizen sidechain platform focuses on scalable data privacy and enables businesses and developers to custom-build their own public or private blockchains using its unique sidechain technology, Zendoo.

Shanghai Upgrade incites staking boom

The recent Shanghai Upgrade (also known as Shapella) has sparked substantial interest in Ethereum staking. Since April 12, 2023, when the upgrade was implemented, over 4.4 million ETH have been staked, boosting the total number of coins in staking to 22.58 million, as per Glassnode's data.

This impressive surge happened mainly because of big Ethereum owners who like the idea of having passive income instead of liquidating their assets. The appeal remains strong despite a waiting period to become a validator exceeding one month. A yearly return of about 4–5% attracts validators who help manage transactions and save network data.

Ethereum staking gained popularity after the launch of Ethereum's Beacon Chain in December 2020. But for three years, stakers couldn't freely withdraw their coins, leaving them vulnerable to fluctuations in Ether's price. With the Shapella update, it became possible. But even with more people staking, the price of Ethereum has been slow to rise after the upgrade.

On WhiteBIT you’ll find 4 types of orders:

● Market order
● Limit order
● Stop order (market/limit)
● OCO order

In details:

Market order allows buying or selling an asset immediately at the current market price.
It's instant, but the execution price is unpredictable.

Limit order allows buying or selling an asset at a fixed price.
It’s executed if the market price reaches the specified level. Plus, this price is removed from your trade balance and is reserved in the order.

Stop orders have an additional parameter — the stop price.
Stop-market order allows buying or selling an asset at the market price, which is automatically executed when the price reaches the stop level.
It minimizes the risk of loss or profit capture and turns into a market order to buy or sell.

Stop-limit allows the trader to set two levels: stop and limit levels. When the specified market price for this pair is reached, the order gets activated and is completed as a basic limit order.

OCO stands for One Cancels the Other. It allows a trader to place two limit orders simultaneously: Limit and Stop-limit.
It set profitable targets with minimum risk. Plus, it’s executed only if the market price reaches the specified level.

How to place or cancel an order?

1. Log in to your account on the WhiteBIT exchange;
2. Visit the “Trade” section in the upper left part of the screen;
3. Select the desired trading pair and order type;
4. Enter the price and quantity of the asset;
5. Click “Buy” or “Sell”.
6. You can cancel an order in the “Active Orders” section. Please note that this can only be done before the order execution.
