Unlike other mammals, the striped tenrec communicates by rubbing its specialized quills together, producing a high-pitched sound to alert its family members, a process called stridulation. Most often, stridulation is associated with insects, such as grasshoppers. Striped tenrecs are the only mammals that use stridulation.
The Mandarin duck is native to East Asia. These ducks are famous for their colorful and intricate feathers, which have symbolic meaning, representing love and loyalty in Chinese culture. With vibrant colors ranging from blue, green, orange to white, these ducks undergo intriguing changes after the breeding season.
