The Irish Wolfhound is one of the largest dogs in the world. These dogs were used as greyhounds for the baiting of big game - wolves and deer. The character is calm, kind.
The first written evidence of these dogs is found in the Roman consul in 391. A pair of Irish greyhounds was a valuable gift for the royal courts of Europe, Scandinavia and others in the Middle Ages until the XVII century. Thus, these dogs got to England, Spain, France, Sweden, Denmark, Persia, India and Poland.
The change of the name of the dog to the wolfhound occurred, obviously, in the XV century, at that time each county was obliged to keep 24 wolfhounds to protect farm herds from wolf attacks.
Today, the Irish Wolfhound has regained the reputation it had in the Middle Ages, and is of great interest as a living testimony to Irish culture and as a legacy of the Celtic past.

The vulture Neophron percnopterus has become a symbol of a scavenger who lives by eating rotting corpses. Associations are not the most pleasant, but you can look at it from the other side: unlike predators, vultures cause much less damage to other species, while bringing much more benefit.
In Egypt, the vulture has been known since ancient times as the "chicken of the pharaohs". They have been revered in this country since ancient times, and were not even expelled from the pyramids, where they often nested. And today, killing a vulture there is punishable by law.
The vulture is a fairly large bird, the adult reaches 60-70 cm in length, its wingspan exceeds one and a half meters, and its weight reaches 1.6–2.3 kg. The plumage is white, and there are very noticeable black feathers on the edges of the wings. Near the throat, the feathers are yellow.

The European roe deer Capreólus capreólus belongs to the deer family. The body length of the roe deer is 100-130 cm, the height at the withers is 70-85 cm. These are elegant animals with a blunt muzzle and a very short tail. The color is monotonous: golden-red in summer, gray in winter.
The horns of males are small, vertically placed, almost straight with 2-3 appendages and a very uneven surface. The bases of the horns are covered with characteristic outgrowths - "pearls". Small roe deer are spotted. Interestingly, the eyes of roe deer glow reddish-yellow at night.
Where they are not pursued, roe deer can live next to a person. They also inhabit places where there are usually no other ungulates - steppe shrubs, gullies, forest belts, small copses among fields. But in most areas of Russia, their numbers are quite low due to poaching.
The males' voice during the rut is a kind of hoarse barking. The same sharp bass bark serves as an alarm signal.
