The Damascus goat, or shami, is a unique breed originating from the Middle East and raised in Syria, Lebanon, and Cyprus.
In terms of size, male Damascus goats grow up to 1 meter tall and weigh around 100 kg, while females are slightly smaller but more graceful, highly valued for their impressive milk yield.
These goats are famous for their ability to produce up to 9 liters of milk per day. Such volume makes any goat desirable, regardless of its appearance 😆
The breed gained widespread recognition thanks to a beauty contest held in 2008, where the shami was named "The Most Beautiful Goat," further boosting its popularity and respect among farmers.
Interesting fact: The Damascus goat's high milk production can make it an important asset for small-scale dairy operations in the region.

Why do geckos drop their tails? 🦎
Tail dropping is a defensive mechanism. Lizards shed their tails when they feel threatened or are grabbed. In other words, it's better to lose the tail and escape than to be eaten 😅
Interesting fact: Gecko tails are not only for defense but can also help them in balance and energy storage, as they contain fatty tissues!
The Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) is one of the three orangutan species, found exclusively on the island of Borneo.
The name comes from the Malay words "orang" (person) and "hutan" (forest), literally meaning "forest person."
Males grow up to 1.5 meters tall and weigh over 80 kg, while females are significantly smaller, around 1 meter tall and 40 kg. They are covered in thick reddish-brown fur.
Bornean orangutans prefer to live alone, except for mothers with their young.
These orangutans can use tools: they make leafy shelters, use sticks to gather food, and even learn to observe humans.
In the wild, they can live up to 40 years, in captivity — more than 50 years.
The species is endangered.
Over the last 60 years, the population of Bornean orangutans has declined by more than 50%.
Interestingly, orangutans are known for their long-term memory and ability to recognize human faces, which can help them in their complex social interactions. 🐒🌍

Why "stinky"? Because these birds have very smelly meat that is unpleasant to eat - in other words, it's rotten. 🤢 During mating season, the male performs an elaborate dance to attract a female. Together they will stomp their feet, flap their wings, and bob their heads in unison. 💃🕺 This courtship ritual helps the birds find a suitable mate so they can raise the next generation of stinky chicks! 🐣👩👧👦
